One Day in December
One Day in December by Josie Silver is a captivating contemporary romance featuring interesting, likable characters and extraordinary circumstances. Laurie, an aspiring writer, has a love-at-first-sight experience with a stranger out her bus window in London. Afterward, she searches for him for a year, hoping against all odds that she'll run into him again. What she doesn't count on, is being introduced to him by her best friend/flatmate, Sarah, as Jack, Sarah's new boyfriend. Instead of telling Sarah up front, Laurie and Jack keep their secret and try to bury their obvious attraction to one another. But over the years as they and their circumstances change, their secret eventually comes out.
One Day in December is a book I found hard to put down. I was anxious to see how things would work out, and there were a lot of twists and turns right up to the end. As I was reading, I could easily imagine this book being adapted as a movie. If you enjoy sweet, heartwarming (and sometimes heartbreaking) romance, I would highly recommend this book. The Perfect Gentleman, book two of my Harbor Springs Series is coming soon. In this installment, Becca, the middle of three sisters, is starting to fall for Simon whom she's nicknamed "Hot Rich Guy." Here's an excerpt to whet your appetite...
Leaning toward him and keeping her hand in his, she said, “About that kiss…”
“Yes?”
“I’ll take another one now.”
“Here? Now?”
“Unless you’d rather wait.”
They were sitting in his parked car at the end of the road in the dark, and it was reminiscent of his teenage years. But the lady wanted a kiss, and while it wasn’t the ideal location, he wouldn’t deny her or himself the pleasure.
Giving her hand a tug, he pulled her forward and leaned in until they were practically nose to nose.
“We could get caught, you know?”
“Don’t tell me you’re afraid?”
He brought his free hand up, cupped her cheek, and grazed his thumb back and forth across her smooth skin.
“I saw this differently in my mind, that’s all.”
“How’d you see it?”
Her beautiful brown eyes sparkled with mischief as she gazed up at him. While he enjoyed her feisty, argumentative side, he adored her sweet and sexy side. He resisted the urge to pull her onto his lap and kiss her senseless, choosing to drag out the anticipation a little longer.
“For one thing, I didn’t see us kissing in the car.”
“Did you think we’d be at your place instead?” she purred, seemingly enjoying this as much as he was.
“Or yours.”
“Which is also yours.”
He chuckled and then fingered a lock of hair that was curling over her shoulder.
“You have beautiful hair.”
“You have beautiful eyes.”
“Yeah?”
“Um-hmm.”
God, he was on fire for this woman. He’d become completely aroused and they hadn’t even kissed yet.
“Simon?”
“Yes?”
Letting go of his hand, she looped her arms around his neck. “I’m tired of waiting.”

The V Card
The V Card by Lauren Blakely and Lili Valente is a sweet and steamy friends-to-lovers romance. CJ and Graham have known each other for years, but only as friends. Both are successful business owners but neither has made time for love. In addition, CJ wants to give up her "V card," and who better to give her virginity to than someone she knows, trusts, and is secretly attracted to?
When she propositions Graham to become her tutor in the "romance" department, he's shocked and intrigued. He also harbors an attraction to CJ, but he never intended to act on it. Graham finally agrees with the condition that the lessons will only last for one week. After that they'll go back to being friends.
