Currently reading – Eugene Onegin by Alexander Pushkin. There are many great Russian writers – Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Gogol and many others. But Pushkin fathered them all. I actually saw Tchaikovsky’s Onegin opera at the NY Met with a friend when I lived in Brooklyn.

Currently reading – Wide Sargasso Sea, by Jean Rhys. Rhys was born on the Caribbean island of Dominica in 1890, but spent her adult life in England. Known for her dark stories of women, she is a bit of a cult writer. This novel is a prequel to Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre.
