TAPS a Memorial Day Tribute
My Memorial Day Tribute
I knew the day would come when we would no longer honor Memorial Day as a family. My daughters are growing up and have responsibilities of their own, so it was inevitable. Last year I recorded TAPS for them, and made this video so they could still hear it, even if I couldn't sing it in person.
Being a military family, I started singing TAPS to the girls each year so they would understand the sentiment of the day set aside to remember our fallen soldiers. I hope you enjoy it too.

The Painted Door
The Painted Door
The doors to our shop have been white for years. I decided to paint them in an abstract mountain theme. I used outdoor latex paint, and mixed the colors to make some custom shades. It was a little different than painting on a canvas, but was a fun afternoon project. Now the side door is next, (I just can't help myself!)
It seems I can't live in a house without painting the walls and doors, or creating a stained glass design on the windows. I hope this project inspires you to find your own creativity, and try something new.

I've got the blues, in a good way!
Blue Evenings
It is a true joy to share such amazing sights from our mountainside. Our blue sunsets are a spectacular experience. I hope no matter what time of day you see this photo, it will make your evening better too.

Come Join the Party!
Award Celebration
On June 22, the Barnes & Noble bookstore in Bozeman, Montana, will be hosting a celebration for my recent award. It's an honor for me to share the news that my first book has won the Will Rogers Medallion Award.
I was asked to make a video to show at the event, so I created this 30 second promotion. I wish you all could attend. I will share photos of the party in a future post. I'm very grateful for the support and encouragement I have received. I'm much obliged to you all.

Planting the Greenhouse
Greenhouse Surprise
Spring has finally come to Montana, yes, it could still snow, but I took advantage of the good weather and planted vegetables in the greenhouse. I had a surprise visit from the cutest "vegetable inspector" in the state.
Do I have a green thumb? Find out.
