The Great Greenhouse Tomato Takeover!

The Great Greenhouse Tomato Takeover!

I’m still taking advantage of every moment outside.  While I continue to struggle with the outdoor flowers, my plants in the greenhouse are thriving!  I have a tomato plant that is simply huge.  In this video, I will share why I think my green house was successful this year, plus a few facts you may be surprised to learn.

Our Labor Day- Labor of Love

Our Labor Day- Labor of Love
This front entry sign for our homestead is the result of our efforts this past Labor Day weekend. We designed, constructed and installed it. It was a labor of love and had been on our "to do" list for several years. I'm sure it will end up as a chapter in one of my books because we had some really funny experiences working on it. (It's heavier than it looks)

Nancy Quinn's Western Zen

Nancy Quinn's Western Zen

These are some inspirational thoughts I use to help myself. The landscapes here on the mountain are so lovely and uplifting, they often put me in a reflective mood.  I can always use a few extra moments of peace, and a deep relaxing breath.  I hope this video brings you the same kind of feelings.  I believe it's is another gift from Montana, and our life in the modern wild west.

Mercurial Mother Nature, Summer Hail Storm

The Summer Storm

I had to wonder, What the "hail" is this? I listened to the crashing and banging sounds on the roof our home. The frozen ice chunks fell viciously from the sky to the ground.

I was worried about the horses, they ran into the tree line instead of seeking shelter in the barn. When they emerged, they were covered with ice, but unharmed.

This is how much ice accumulated on the ground after the storm was over.  It was just another summer day in Montana.

The breathtaking Sunsets of Montana.

The Montana Skies

Visit our Montana mountain homestead, and view the gorgeous sunsets from our front porch.  Every night, I look to the sky for the ever-changing glorious patterns of light and shadow. Take 2 minutes, a deep breath, and enjoy these color drenched skies.

Cimarron is the name of the home featured in my books, "Go West, Young Woman!" and "Stay West, Young Woman!".

If you enjoyed this video, I suggest you watch Ep: 5 "Montana Sunsets" on my YouTube channel, Nancy Quinn-Life in the Wild West.

What's growing in the greenhouse?

What's growing in the greenhouse?

I receive a lot of questions about growing vegetables, and requests to see the greenhouse. It's hard to grow anything on our mountainside homestead in Montana.  This is our best year yet, and I'm constantly learning about growing food for our table.  I hope you enjoy this little tour of our built by hand greenhouse. You may pick up an innovative idea or two that will help you grow your own vegetables and flowers.

Easy Refrigerator Jam

Strawberry Refrigerator Jam

This recipe is so easy-no canning required!  It's a family favorite here on the homestead. I have made two batches of it, and neither one lasted a full day. This jam is not just for your morning toast. From my kitchen to yours, with love...
Enjoy!
