Free Gift for You!

To celebrate my first Bestseller, The Art of The Wild, I designed this tote bag as a thank you gift.  It's free with the purchase of any of my books directly from me and shipped in the United States.  In time, I hope to extend this offer worldwide.

It's my first attempt at graphic art too.  I drew the feather using the mouse on my computer instead of my usual supplies of pencils and paints.  The bag is large and sturdy with a gusset so it's handy for anything you want to carry.

Again, I extend my thanks to everyone who supports my work and enjoys reading my books.

Feel welcome to contact me through my website https://nancyquinnauthor.com/  or leave a comment.  I would love to hear from you.

Our Horse Wilson is also an Artist

Many of you already know about Wilson.  He is an amazing horse with lots of talents.  He enjoys painting on canvas and has already created one painting.  When he is the mood to paint he pulls out his favorite purple paintbrush and wants to get started.

His favorite color is, you guessed it, purple.  You can see videos featuring Wilson's antics on my YouTube Channel  and read about him in my Western trilogy at nancyquinnauthor.com

So Wilson has a fun weekend planned with his artistic endeavors, what are your weekend plans?  What ever you decide to do, we wish you all the best.

Wearable Art- silk scarves

I've been dealing with disappointment for some time now because I had to close my Nancy Quinn Signature line of fashion and home goods.  My original art was featured on every item- clothing, pillows, placemats, and other home products.  There were issues with the manufacturer that I could not resolve, so it was a painful decision that had to be made.

However, I'm still keeping my interest in fashion alive.  When I'm not writing books or  paintings on canvas, I'm hand painting silk scarves.  Someday, I hope to have another opportunity to open the line again.  Until then, my clients are enjoying having unique scarves and knowing each design is the only one available on the market.  Their personal enjoyment keeps me encouraged and creating these beautiful pieces.  Here are a few examples.  I hope you enjoy them too.

Do my horses like to decorate for Valentine's Day?

I decided to put up a few Valentine's Day decorations, and as usual, the horses saw me in the window and wandered over to "help" me.  Domingo is a 25 year old Arabian gelding and still has lots of enthusiasm for life.  Like my other horse, Wilson, he enjoys a hug and a cookie and is ever hopeful to get them.

Wilson is a 21 year old quarter horse, and as you can see, lost interest in my decorating efforts and found the bird feeder much more interesting.

I believe Valentine's Day is not just for romance.  It's the perfect time to remind your friends, family, and special loved ones just how much you care about them.  With that said, I sincerely thank you all for being my Valentines.

My New Book, The Art of The Wild, is Hot off the Press!

It's been a whirlwind of a book launch week. To top it off, look at this story that was circulated in media outlets worldwide.  I'll be watching to see what happens next.  I'm so grateful to each of you who enjoy my work and I'm extending my heart felt thanks in supporting my efforts in writing books and creating art. AUTHOR NANCY QUINN’S LATEST BOOK IS GENERATING SOME HEAT OF ITS OWN AS IT SWEEPS MULTIPLE #1 BESTSELLERS RANKINGS ON AMAZON’S HOT NEW RELEASES

“When the human spirit connects with the animal’s heart, captivating art is made possible.”

The Art of the Wild is the fourth book in a series of memoirs written by wildlife artist and author Nancy Quinn and is a departure from her usual focus on life in rural western Montana (which earned her a Will Rogers Medallion Award and the nickname Montana Queen).  This latest work is really a prequel which covers much of her early adult life in Florida conservation law enforcement and her eventual transition into a career as a professional, award-winning wildlife artist.

“A monkey and a month’s supply of cheese doodles, what could possibly go wrong?”

“I’m thrilled to share this and other fun stories of handling primates, serpents, leopards, tigers, cougars, and other exotic wildlife.  They are so unpredictable and even dangerous at times.  It was an exciting period in my life.  I also have a few of my artworks in the book and one of my favorite animals is on the cover.  I spent weeks drawing this illustration to convey the grace and beauty of this female clouded leopard.  Her story is included in the book as well.”

Common themes in all of Nancy’s works are hope and perseverance.  This new release continues the tradition, presented with her signature style of humor, adventure, pathos, and insight.  As always, the book includes a section containing some of her favorite original recipes.

There’s no need to read her trilogy of life on a Montana mountainside to enjoy this book.  It stands on its own merits.  Meanwhile, Nancy Quinn still lives with her family, horses, and dogs in the wilds of Montana where she continues to write, paint, and enjoy baking.  Her interests are always expanding and now include furniture refinishing, interior decorating, and fashion design.

The Art of the Wild is available in bookstores, online through sellers such as Amazon, or by visiting the book page on her website at nancyquinnauthor.com.  Learn more about this book by watching her 41 second book trailer on YouTube.

Interesting Facts about the Fork

I still have a fascination with dishes and table linens, and find their history interesting. Did you know it wasn’t until the 10th century that the fork was used at the dinner table? By the 14th century it was common place in Italy. It was proper for a guest to arrive with his own fork and spoon enclosed in a box called a cadena; it also prompted a more refined choice of table linens. By the 18th century, British aristocracy began collecting and displaying their sideboards with the fine cutlery. Improved table manners soon followed and a more elaborate table setting was born.

Many of my dishes are found in thrift stores. I like to hunt in the shops or at tag sales.

Simple or intricate, I enjoy setting a table. www.nancyquinnauthor.com
