Weekend Roundup
Working and going in the pool is the sum total of my weekend. Oh and I read a new adult book Dear Rockstar but Emme Rollins. It was the first book in a New Adult Romance Boxed Set I bought. It started off a bit slow for me, but picked up a little ways in. I didn’t love it, but I enjoyed it.
I’m diving into writing my new book, The Cowboy Marine (working title) while waiting for edits on Obsession. What is surprising is that this book started without as much agony as is customary for me. But I’m not complaining! Since I tend to write in layers, it’s okay if the pages aren’t super strong yet, I’ll go back and layer as I discover more and more about the characters.
Wizard, however, is busier than usual doing things like vacuuming for me. There’s an upside to that thing I don’t want to talk about. (Achilles injury) But I’ll talk about it long enough to say that I’m healing well, we’re just being cautious.
And okay, Wizard jumping up and down, pushing his hands up in the “raising the ceiling” gesture and singing, “Woo hoo. Who hoo!” in a fake girl’s voice makes me laugh. Because that’s more or less what my nieces and I were doing when I hurt myself. Except no one was saying Woo Hoo–or however that’s spelled. Every time Wizard does it, I crack up.
So it looks like I keep saying I don’t want to talk about it but then I do

Happy Friday!
This has been another of those really interesting weeks. I have something going that makes me really happy, but can’t talk about yet. Don’t you hate that? I so hate it! But I will say that, Indie publishing is it’s own kind of awesome.
With all the drama of my incident I don’t want to talk about any more (stupid Achilles), I totally forgot to tell you all something else. At CPA Boy’s wedding, guess who caught the garter?
There was a group of men, I’m guessing maybe fifteen? Possibly more. First, CPA Boy made a total production of taking the garter off Special K. She was blushing and he was hamming it up…
Yeah, makes a mom so proud. LOLOL!!
Then Special K escaped, the guys lined up, and CPA Boy messed around for a while being a total ham. He gets that from Wizard, I’m very serious and reserved, and I certainly don’t like to be the center of attention.
Really.
Sigh, why does not one ever believe me?
Anyway…Middle Son and BLB (Broken Leg Boy with the plates and screws in his leg) are out there. Now for long events like this that requite a lot of standing and walking, BLB uses his cane just to ease the pressure on his leg. He’d been using the cane most of the night, even when he danced with his girlfriend.
This time he’s out there without his cane in a group of men determined to get the garter. Hmm, how can this go wrong? But I kept my mouth shut (I know, shocking. But I truthfully trust BLB’s judgement, he usually knows what he’s doing and how to handle his leg)
CPA Boy shoots off the garter and it comes down to a match between Middle Son and BLB. We know who is going to win, after all Middle Son is natural born athlete.
So imagine our shock when BLB dove for the garter, slid across the floor and got it.
We’re all like…did that just happen? Seriously? Even Middle Son looked a bit shocked.
All I can say is never underestimate BLB!
So this weekend is the usual for me. What about you all? Any special plans?

Wednesday Worthy
**Oops I set the time wrong for this to post so it’s going up late. Sorry!**
I’m sending Obsession to the editor! Not even a torn Achilles stops me, LOL!
By the way, Wizard took me to Urgent Care–and the PA there told me I tore/injured my Achilles which is obvious. But he refused to do an x-ray to check for fractures and I’m just done with this whole subject. If something is fractured, it’ll heal. People heal all the time. So lets move onto something more fun.
Here is our volunteer for today’s candidate. Well maybe volunteer is the wrong word Although I swear it wasn’t me that chained him up! Really!
So what do you think?

Weekend Roundup
Happy Labor Day for those celebrating! I think we’re just staying home, maybe swimming and either BBQing or picking something up.
I’m fleshing out a few scenes and doing final edits on Obsession. And learning to let go Then it’s onto my Cowboy Marine. I’m getting excited to write that book. Logan Knight is in desperate need of some down time and goes house on his family ranch, only to find his beloved home inhabited by a woman on the run with her baby…good times!
My weekend varied widely. Work wise, things are going really well and I’m extremely grateful for that. But Saturday I finally told Wizard I need to go to Urgent Care for my foot/ankle. But for whatever reason, the Urgent Care that’s supposed to be opened until five, closed at one and was closed on Sunday. I was a tad frustrated but whatever…it’ll heal and it is getting better so it’s fine. I’m just going stir crazy, I can’t work out, I can do anything but work and eat.
Which some people (WIZARD I’m talking about YOU) would say it’s making me cranky. Actually it’s making me fat and cranky but even Wizard isn’t brave enough to say that.
But today will be better! How was your weekend?

Happy Friday!
I’m sooo close. Just trying to get the last wrap up on Obsession done then I can clean it up. So close. But I’m still debating some things at the very end. Plus I’m distracted by all the pretty colors developing on my foot and calf. Man I sprained that sucker. Probably got a few little tears in there too but it should heal.
Of course, normal people would get an x-ray. Or you know, see a doctor. But why ruin the fun of guessing
Before anyone really worries, I’m sure it’s just a sprain. Seriously, I can move and rotate my foot without pain. And it doesn’t hurt when I’m not walking on it. So it’s all good.
So this weekend, I’m working! If the weather cooperates I’ll go in the pool with Wizard and I’ll probably bake something too. But we are looking forward to a quiet, relaxing weekend.
What are your plans for the weekend?

Wednesday Worthy
Wizard has been off work until today, so we’ve been talking non-stop about the wedding. Wizard’s having a great time teasing me about hurting myself dancing. First off, it’s amazing that I got out there and danced since I can’t dance. At all.
As in I have zero rhythm.
Anyone ever seen that old Seinfeld episode where Elaine dances? That’s me. Totally. I know it and I didn’t care, I was out there dancing.
But I was having so much fun with my nieces, my two other sons’ girlfriends and one other friend of the family girl, I just didn’t know when to quit. Evidently my Achilles tendon or something in that general vicinity did. All I can say is that I got off LUCKY. It’s healing exactly like a pulled muscle so all seems to be well. (No I didn’t go to emergency. Wizard wanted to take me, but I was fairly sure it was just a pull/sprain).
In book news, I’m working! I should be sending Obsession to the editor next week and will dive into book two in my Once A Marine series. I’ll be doing a little juggling of revisions during that time too, but I’m not going to think about it.
Here is our the hunk candidate for today. I had him on my FB page last week but I cropped him up a little for the blog.
So what do you think?

Wedding Weekend!
This was one of the best weekends ever as we celebrated the wedding of my son (CPA Boy) and his lovely wife, (Special K). We are exhausted, but it’s worth it! Here’s the quick version:
We had the rehearsal and dinner Friday night. By the time dinner arrived, we were all laughing way too much and having a blast. After all the planning, work, expense and cookie crises everything was coming together.
Saturday was a beautiful day. We got to the hotel early and hung out with CPA Boy and posse, including Middle Son and BLB and their girlfriends whom we also love. Seeing CPA Boy in his tux was one of those moments where time just stops. Wizard and I are so very proud of him. He wasn’t the least bit nervous. He said he knew he was marrying the right woman.
Then Wizard and I got a sneak peek at Special K and we were blown away! She’s always beautiful but she was so dramatically gorgeous it took out breath away. Watching her walk down the aisle to our son was a perfect moment. The wedding was simple, elegant and all about joining these two lives.
And then THE PARTY! We had so much fun at the reception. After doing all the parental things, we were all mingling, had a great dinner, then the dancing and celebrating. Wizard and I danced and danced, and then Wizard stopped.
I didn’t…which is why I pulled a muscle or something in my leg. Turns out I can’t keep up with the 20-somethings, LOL! But it was worth it! Plus it was at the end of the night, so it wasn’t big deal.
Now CPA Boy and Special K are off on their honeymoon and Wizard and I, who are parents to three wonderful sons, finally have “our girl.”
How was your weekend?

Happy Friday!
I’m late getting this post up–bet you all know why:
It’s CPA Boy and Special K’s wedding this weekend! (FYI, this is a stock photo, not my son and Special K). So that pretty much sums up my weekend plans
What are your plans? Whatever it is, have a great weekend!

Wednesday Worthy
Soooo close! I got through the black moment of Obsession yesterday. I just need a couple more scenes and then I have a full draft. This book is due at the editor’s scary soon, as in mere days. But I’ll flesh out, clean up and revise fast.
This is has been one of the hardest books I’ve ever written. Possession was hard because the sexuality was so raw, intense and powerful, but this one has been emotionally hard. I wanted to protect my characters too much and I loved one character right from the start that was on a path I just couldn’t change and stay true to the story. So I found myself avoiding writing certain scenes with dismaying regularity. I have no idea if I’m even close to writing anything good though.
But you know what? Not trying is certain failure and we all deserve to be proud of ourselves for trying, right?
So, for our Wednesday Worthy candidate today I’m tossing out all the regular men and bringing in the guy I’m wildly in love with:
Bailey Dog! Middle Son sent me this picture of Bailey after his bath this week. Normally Bailey doesn’t love being wrapped up like that, but he let Middle Son’s girlfriend do it because he adores her.
I miss Bailey, I don’t get to see him as often as I used to, but Middle Son sends me pics like this that make my day. Then when I show Wizard the picture, he nags me to go get Bailey for a week. I think we’re going to have to have a weekend with him soon!
So who is your pick for Wednesday Worthy? It can be anyone–or doge–you want, we’re breaking all the rules today!

Weekend Roundup
It was a good weekend, I’m finally closing in on the end of OBSESSION. Then it’ll need some revising and clean up before I send it to the editor. I’m too close to even guess if the book is working or not so I won’t comment on that But man, getting time to write is tough. Sunday was good though as Wizard ran some errands for me so I could write. He’s awesome like that.
What’s not so awesome is he lured me out to the pool. But that would be okay, basically just a break. But Wizard wasn’t finished with his master plan. He then made us a gin and tonics and I ended up staying out there too long when I should have been working. Bad Wizard!
And finally when I went back to “work” Wizard caught me looking at French bulldog rescue sites. I was busted, LOL! I tried to convince him it was research, but I don’t think he bought that story.
We’re just days away from the wedding now!
