Wednesday Worthy

One week until Christmas, and the best part? Wizard and I asked Middle Son if this guy can stay with us for a few days after Christmas:

Bailey while I work 2

Middle Son answered, “I’ll ask Bailey if he wants to stay with you and Dad and get back to you.”  I’m 99% sure Bailey said yes :-) We’ll have fun for a few days.  Wizard’s really excited, so last night I said to him, “I’m on to you, you know.”

He tried to look innocent, “What?”

“You think that after we have Bailey for a few days, I’ll be tired and realize I don’t really want a dog.”

He smirked and refused to answer.

Changing subjects here, I went to Big Stock to find a Santa Hunk, but I had sticker shock at the price. So we’re going to have to make due with one of the guys who’s been hanging around here for a while now. Just imagine him in a Santa hat:

Weekend Roundup

I have 90% of my shopping done! Wizard and I did half the shopping together–and the other half separately and managed to get the bulk of it done. I was actually in the mall two days in a row–I haven’t been to that mall in MONTHS.  I talked to real people and everything, LOL!

I finally got to read SEBASTIAN/ARISTIDE (Bayou Heat Series)  and I’m ready and enjoying FIGHTING FOR FLIGHT. I haven’t had time to read at all unless I had insomnia, so it’s been an awesome break.

I’m also bugging Wizard for a dog–something I always do when I come up for air after finishing a book. He’s SOOO used to this, he just puts me off knowing I’ll start the next book and get too busy again :-)

So three questions for you all:

1) How was your weekend?

2) What are you reading?

3) And what is your favorite home-made Christmas treat?

Happy Friday

What? When did I blink again and it’s Friday? Seriously? Sigh…

So I got a start on Christmas shopping, but it’s not anywhere near enough.  I can’t believe we are sooo close! As I mentioned before, baking is where I’m going to have to cut back. So I’m taking only special requests from family. So far, they are begging me for peanut butter balls–that’s are so easy!

In other news, BLB (broken leg boy otherwise known as youngest son) stopped by the other day. Do you know it’ll be two years on Christmas eve since he was injured? Crazy! Anyway, BLB’s doing great in school, super focused on finishing his accounting degree and handling his leg. I hate that he was tested this way, but I am so proud of him, it’s the best Christmas gift I could ask for. It’s one of those moments where we are just so grateful it’s hard to put into words.

While I wish it had never happened, it did and looking back,  I realize that it stopped my life so completely, it gave me time to re-evaluate where I wanted to go in my career. Seeing BLB accept that he needed to go in a new direction and face it with courage (and huge support from his brothers–they have been there for him in too many ways to count), inspired me do the same.

So to sum up–life can throw major sucky curve balls, but sometimes the new directions that come out of it are a good thing.

And speaking of that, I have a LOT I want to write next year. Right now,  have two books and a new series on my plate :-) Let’s blame BLB for that!

This weekend will be shopping and complaining about shopping. What are you doing this weekend?

Wednesday Worthy

I started some Christmas shopping yesterday and realized that when the shopping gene was passed out, I must have been hiding in a dark corner reading a book with a flashlight.

Is it just me or does the holiday season seem more difficult to you all this year?

Let’s talk about something else! I found the photo that I lost last week.

Tom Hardy

So what do you think? Is he worthy?

Weekend Roundup

First, for all of you hit by the cold miserable storm–I hope you stayed warm and safe. It’s been cold and rainy here in So. Cal., but much of the U.S. was slammed hard to huge storms.

My weekend was a blur. I sent my book to my editor on Saturday–YAY!! To celebrate Wizard and I went shopping for toys for CHiPs for Kids.  We had a blast! We set a budget then had the best time picking out toys–definitely the highlight of our weekend.  We’re taking those to a donation center tonight.  We also got a tree, but haven’t decorated it yet.  Still, it’s progress. This weekend was the start on the nonstop running around and craziness.  I don’t think I’ll do a lot of baking this year, there’s just no time.

I’m doing some plotting on more books.

Oh before I forget, PLAY HARD is free on Amazon Kindle /  iBooks iTunes / and Kobo

Happy Friday!

Wow, really? Friday already? I’m had my head down working and have no idea how Friday got here.  Last time I checked it was Tuesday. The book just needs one more straight edit and off to the editor it goes.

So who’s getting ready for Christmas? I haven’t even started. If it’s not raining this weekend we might get out tree. I’m still trying to wrap my head about it being December.

What are you all doing this weekend?

Wednesday Worthy Goes To The Dogs

I lost the picture I originally intended to post (don’t ask-yesterday was just one of those days–I can’t find that sucker anywhere). So instead, I’m going to post this guy:

Corky's officioal photo

This is CPA Boy and Special K’s new dog, Corky.  To my great sadness, I still haven’t gone out and met him in person. I hear he’s super sweet, possibly not the smartest dog ever, but calm and sweet.  Meeting him will be my reward once I turn in this book and get everything else on my desk done.

So…what do you think, is Corky Worthy? By the way, this is his “official” photo sent to my by Special K. She cracks me up, she actually called it his official photo.

Weekend Roundup!

I’ve missed you all! I’ve been working at a crazy pace. I have the book completely drafted, now I’m going through to fix and clean it up for my editor to read.  I’m too close to even guess if the book is good, bad or blah. Let’s all cross our fingers!

Thanksgiving here was awesome. I got up around five thirty to get a couple hours of work in then jumped right into T-Day work.  Everything turned out great. The only downside was Middle Son, and BLB couldn’t be here as they work retail.  We really missed them and Bailey Dog.  Otherwise, it was great! Everyone, including Biker Witch, really pitched in to help which makes it even more fun. All the wine didn’t hurt either :-)

So my tall. hot blonde niece who is in her mid twenties comes in the kitchen and say, “Aunt Jennifer can I have some wine? Please?”

I look at her and she’s just too gorgeous. Seriously. So I say, “Ask me like a blonde.”

She goes all valley girl on me and says “Please????”  I cracked up. I love my family. My nieces are so many flavors of awesomesauce I adore them. They never even blink when I do this stuff to them. They just play along.

I gave her the wine ;-) (She’s old enough and wasn’t driving)

Around all my writing, Wizard and I found time to watch a great movie, THE VOW with Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams.  We just randomly chose this movie and really liked it.  Then Saturday night Wizard and I went out to dinner and had a blast together.  Later that night, we were watching TV when Wizard turns to me and says, “We still have fun when it’s just the two of us. I love that.”

And that why, even though he might have some control issues (we bickered for three days over HOW to thaw a turkey.  I won because I’m right and Wizard pouted), he’s a keeper.

So how was your Thanksgiving? And Weekend?

Weekend Roundup

I’m so sorry for not answering on Friday–I’m stretched a little thin struggling to make this book come together. I’m pretty much ripping apart scenes rewriting and trying to get to The End.

So Saturday Wizard comes in the house and says, “Is the water in the tea kettle  still hot?

“No, I made my tea a long time ago.”

There was dead silence in the kitchen and I kept working. Finally I hear, “Um Witch, how long has this tea bag been steeping?”

Totally confused, I said, “What tea bag? I drank mine a long time ago.” I’m sure I did, right? So I got up and walked into the kitchen and there it was–my stone cold tea with the tea bag still in it.

That’s pretty much what my weekend was like. I’m not working out (Bad Witch!), just working with desperate fever as this book went totally off the rails at some point and I’m trying to lasso it back into something workable. I’m also trying to clean the house and making my shopping list for T-Day. Wizard is helping out everywhere he can.

That was one of MANY incidents this weekend. So today, Wizard is off work but he headed out to a car show with Middle Son. I was invited but can’t go because The Freaking Book.

So how was your weekend?

P.S. to B.E., to answer your question from Friday, so far the boxed set will only be available as an electronic book. I plan to get it into print, but I never seem to find the time to tackle it.
