Screen Time Chart: Screen Time Limits for Kids
Do you struggle with limits on screen time for your kids?
Keep reading for some tips and tricks to keep everyone happy!

When my kids were younger, we did not have many electronic devices in our home.
It was my goal to keep electronics out of our lives for as long as possible.
I would take my kids to the playground and watch them play while taking pictures with my digital camera.
The cell phone that I had was for emergencies only. It was an old flip phone without internet capabilities.
So I could watch my girls play or swing with them on the swings.
One time while waiting for a Halloween parade to start, my girls were having fun with me watching the crowd and talking to each other.
I looked around and saw a small girl watching something on her parent's phone.
That made me so sad.
I was successful in keeping electronics out of our lives until one of my daughter's teachers told the class that if they behaved, each student would be allowed to pick whatever gift they wanted off of Amazon.
Guess what my daughter picked?
A fire tablet.
Gone were the days of our simple, electronic free lives.
Now don't get me wrong, we watched TV and had tons of movies in the house that I probably let "babysit" the kids far too often so I could get stuff done in the house.
But the new fire tablet changed things in our house.
Things only got worse when I broke my leg in 2016 and my husband bought me a laptop so I could have something to do while I wasn't able to get around very well for about 6 months due to surgery recovery time.
After I broke my leg and couldn't work for 6 months, I decided to pull my kids out of private school to homeschool them.
With that decision came two more laptops so we could do online classes.
So now my girls are older and they are probably addicted to their electronics.
The good news is that they both have used their time fairly well by creating content more than consuming content.
Both girls have YouTube channels and are both published authors.
So screen time has been good for them to have the time to write stories and create animations.
Yet, it still is a struggle for them to balance their time.
I find myself telling them over and over to get off their devices to go to bed.
What I have noticed is that they follow me.
So when I turn thing off, it's time for bed.
I can talk all I want but as soon as I turn things off, everyone seems to get ready for bed.
During the day it's sometimes a struggle to get them to go for a walk or go visit my grandmother.
I have learned that I can't argue with them. Let them complain and try to be as positive as I can and don't give them an option. When I'm ready to go they seem to respond better instead of me constantly telling them to get ready to go.
I also created a fun electronics chart for kids to complete the tasks that you assign before they are allowed to have screen time.
Those charts are available in my new mom group here: Moms Parenting With Less Stress and More Family Fun *
This group is for moms who want more fun time with kids! If you feel like you spend more time nagging and yelling at your kids instead of fun quality time, then this group is for you!

National Clean Up Your Room Day
Do you struggle to get your kids to clean up their rooms?
Keep reading for some inspiration!

*Posts may contain affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, I may earn from qualifying purchases*
Fed up and exhaustedGetting kids to clean up after a long day is frustrating and exhausting, am I right?
It's the last thing you want to do and your kids don't make it any easier.
They play all day long and then when it's time to clean up, all of a sudden THEY are tired.
As if you weren't tired too!
You see all these pretty posts of clean toy rooms and you wish you had a clean room too!
But how?
The key to making clean up time easier and faster is having less stuff to clean up at the end of the day.
It takes a little time, but it can be done.
Some ideas to consider:
Rotate toys Donate toys no longer needed Use a fun chore chart * Clean up alongside your kids and make it a game who can clean up the fastest Inspire your kids to clean up with fun stories to show them that their toys don't like to be uncared for (a win-win to fit in story time too!)Check out The Underground Toy Society: You're the Illustrator * to inspire kids to clean up!

With this book, you can encourage your kids to add their own toys into the story so they can realize that their toys want to be happy and cared for instead of all over the floor!
Then at bedtime, you can read the story together and talk about ways to donate toys to help other kids who may not have as many.
Kids will begin to realize that their toys deserve to be loved which will inspire them to either keep them cleaned up or to donate the ones they no longer play with.

Are you Making THIS Mistake When You Organize Toys?
Are you trying to organize the toy mess but it's just not working?
Keep reading to discover the biggest mistake you are making when you organize toys.

*Posts may contain affiliate links.
I thought it would help to buy organizing bins and baskets for my kids to put their toys away.
I thought my house would be cleaner with the use of those items, but all it did was allow my kids to stuff them full of junk and never clean correctly.
There were crayons, markers, paper, crafts, puzzle pieces, and toys everywhere even though I tried to get them to organize the stuff.
I tried labels.
The problem was that when I wasn't directly helping the kids clean up, they would just throw the stuff in the closest place instead of organizing according to my pretty labels.
Then I would have to spend hours going through the baskets and bins to re-organize!
What I didn't realize was we simply had too much stuff.
We didn't have an organizing problem. We had a too much stuff problem.
The Biggest Mistake When Organizing ToysThe biggest mistake is trying to organize toys when what you truly need to do is declutter them.
The problem was that my kids never wanted to donate any of their toys.
They were attached and did not want to let go of their toys.
So, I wrote a book called The Underground Toy Society to help them realize that there may be other kids who are not as blessed as they were to have so many toys.
The book helped my kids realize that their toys deserved to be loved instead of thrown all over the floor.
My kids cleaned up better and even wanted to donate some toys to kids who did not have as many.
Fewer toys cluttering up the house means less cleaning time and more time for fun!
The Underground Toy Society wants to help your family too!
We have so many tips and tricks to share with you!
Subscribe now to our mailing list * to receive parenting tips and tricks that will help you spend quality time together in fun, creative, and imaginative ways instead of struggling for hours to get your kids to clean up!

"Reviewed By Diana Lopez for Readers' Favorite
Samantha and Stacey are two dolls who used to live together, but their owners grew up, and the dolls ended up in separate homes. Samantha wants to find Stacey and one day she met Murry Mole. They plan to go out at night to different houses to find Stacy. Samantha found many abandoned toys in houses and, together with Murry Mole, tried to find a home for them, thus creating the Underground Toy Society. Jessica D. Adams uses The Underground Toy Society: You're the Illustrator to create a magnificent coloring book that explains in detail the beginning of this group of friends and at the same time includes different activities so that children can interact and relate to the story. In this book, children will paint and draw, adding more life to this story of friendship.I liked the values covered in this book. The Underground Toy Society: You're the Illustrator talks about friendship, helping others without looking for anything in return, loyalty, and valuing what you have. Jessica D. Adams speaks very plainly about toys so that children will take care of them and appreciate them. As it talks about companionship, children will also learn to share more openly, knowing that the important thing about a toy is that it can be used to stimulate creativity. Another positive aspect is that this is not just a coloring book because through its pages it tells the emotional story of Samantha and her friends."
