The Knowing

Whether you're falling from great heights or sinking to great depths, both Air and Water sing the same song in different notes as they rush past your ears.

The Great Lockdown Dilemma

People need to stay indoors! But what about all those people who can’t work from home or can only make the money they need to survive by working outdoors? That’s why we have vaccines! But power-play and patents, business and bureaucracy are keeping production low. Then there are the mutants (not the cool X-Men kind) that don’t really guarantee vaccine efficacy or shielding. But the government has tons of foreign aid coming in! With no account of where said aid is going or what the ‘silent price’ for them is. But rich people will--! Nevermind, they’re holiday-quarantining in exotic destinations. But people are dying! You mean, those same people who ARE the economy, who impact and influence it in different ways, from small to big, those people? You’re saying people need to ‘stay safe’, or the economy fails? They need to be vaccinated to stay safe, or the economy fails? They need all the help they can get, or the economy fails? Observing the ongoing masterclass in mismanagement, it seems like the economy, and the people who fuel it, are not that important in the grand scheme of things. Did you say ‘scheme’? Don’t start!

Lady Justice

I’m still unsure about that blindfold design on Lady Justice. They say it is a symbol of impartiality, that justice ‘sees’ nobody as special, that all are equal under the Law. But I’m starting to believe that they blindfolded Lady Justice so she wouldn’t see the many ways legislators use loopholes to circumvent the law, the way the rich feed the monster of corruption, and the way Law in general is used to keep powerful ‘interests’ strong at the cost of weakening humanity. Even then, the joke is not on the good Lady. The joke is on all those who suffer to be heard, seen, and understood in this world. Someday perhaps Lady Justice will drop her scales if only to lift that dang blindfold of hers. It doesn’t go with the rest of her look anyway.

Disillusioned

Plenty of people pursue their passion. Until the word ‘Disillusioned’ hits them with the full impact of its meaning.

Plastic Conundrum

How devious and dastardly is Plastic. The tinier it is, the harder it becomes to recycle the bits and pieces. On the other hand, the bigger untorn versions of it become death traps for animals, birds, and sea life of all kinds, to say nothing of how it clogs up rivers and terrains. Plastic has certainly lived up to the dark phrase: ‘Doomed if you do, doomed if you don’t’. In case you’re wondering, we’re the ‘doomed’ ones in this scenario.

The Boat

You know you’re learning when you realize that you are not separate from the rest of the world but deeply entangled with it.

You’re learning when you realize that you are not living in some pristine untouched island away from the woes of humanity, but are in truth on a giant boat with everyone else in it.

And the boat is rocking, it’s rocking so bad that it just might capsize, spilling us all into the sea. It now boils down to what everyone in the boat has learned.

Together we sail, or together we sink.
