Accidental Murder

When the word ‘Accident’ is treated inferior to ‘Murder’, you can get away with almost anything. You can keep relying on the poisons that are killing the Earth and blame various past ‘accidents’ that started the fatal trend. You can set up elaborate traps that ensure your neighbour or friend meets with an ‘accident’ that claims their life. You can even ‘accidentally’ start a pandemic and call it a ‘lab leak’ instead of the cold bloody ‘murder’ that it actually is.

Force

Sometimes, great things need to be forced. You may need to force yourself to write that book. Force yourself to quit that habit. Force yourself to be kinder to someone you hate. Force yourself to sit down and work on something you know is important. Force yourself to believe in something you never thought possible. Force is not bad, mothers do it all the time when they force their child into being born. From eggs to seeds to cocoons, force has defined life’s determination to exist. Force is perhaps the price we pay for evolution.

Instinct

Instinct is often right, but not always. When a sea creature bites your leg and drags you into the deep, you fight and scream, air bubbles rushing out of your mouth in an exodus of desperation. You lose precious oxygen and, by the time you can collect your senses, you’re breathless, weaponless, and before long lifeless. Those who rely purely on instinct will refuse to understand, let alone accept, that a little planning and training can go a long way. Nothing is guaranteed, however. Death comes for us all in Her own sweet time.

Saving Self

In the act of self-preservation, a human kills their humanity first.

Lonely

Noone in the world can trust anyone in the world, and that’s why everyone in the world feels lonely.

Sinfully Curious

Funny how they pin the Devil up for inspiring sin, when many an unspeakable crime is actually committed in the name of God and for the sake of Family.

Funny Duty

Comedians are a lot like Journalists. They make it their duty to steal stories and never reveal their sources.

Where We Fell From...

A little boy asked his grandfather, “Grandad, why do we think God lives in the sky?”
Amused, and with a smirk on his face, the grandfather replied, “We look down at the ground, find something unusual, something that doesn’t quite belong… And we immediately look up to see from where it might have fallen. Perhaps we look up to find God in a similar way.”
“But, granddad,” said the little boy, “What’s so unusual down here that we need to look up for?”
The grandfather smiled and, without hesitation, said, “Us, my boy. The longer you think about it, everything about being Human is unusual. We’re something that doesn’t quite belong on Earth.”
“Wonder where we fell from,” the little boy said out loud, and flung a smooth pebble into a gushing stream.

Violence

Violence done to the innocent is heartbreaking. When it is done to those who are guilty, who truly deserve it, violence becomes most satisfying. Violence itself isn’t the problem, it’s that we have established two entirely different emotions for an act that can, at its extreme, claim a life.
