Births & Souls...

It has long since been proven that we inherit behavioural traits and characteristics, even large portions of personality, from our parents. It should, therefore, not be surprising to understand that maybe our souls too experience something similar. I firmly believe souls 'inherit' all the traits, characteristics, personalities, and quirks that each of us has experienced in past lives. Observing how different we all are and yet united as a common species, it isn't far-fetched to believe that soul traits and birth traits have much in common.

Art...

Great artists and filmmakers believe in different variations of the saying, "If I don't tell this story right, someone else will tell it wrong."

Life & Death...

All the answers to our Lives reside in the realm of Death.

And Death is only the beginning of a whole new stream of Lives.

She's The Season, She's The Spirit...

It's that time of the year again when even if you locked yourself in an isolated cabin, bunker, or island, you will somehow somewhere sometime hear that dreaded "All I Want For Christmas" tune. And if you're really unlucky, you'll hear entire lyrics and verses. Instead of anointing Mariah Carey the 'Queen of Christmas' they should just make her the fourth ghostly apparition in Charles Dickens' story. Just call her: The Ghost Of Christmas Song. Mariah can literally be the Spirit of Christmas! She will find you, she will make you go through the experience, you will remember it for weeks, and be transformed by it forever.

[Turns to his computer and plays the deadly 'siren song' on loop]

The Helper & The Almost-Helped...

There comes a time when you will realize that no matter what you try to do to help someone, they will take the scenic route if they have to just so they can do what they know they shouldn't. Fate has a strange way of making both the helper and the almost-helped suffer together in the same arena.

Ice Virus...

I sometimes can't believe we're living in a time when we can marginally survive a nuclear apocalypse but may go extinct from a virus-driven one. Keep digging into that ice, people. The worst is yet to thaw.

Santa, Jesus, Norse...

Santa Claus was heavily influenced by Norse traditions, particularly those surrounding Odin, aka the Norse god of gods, or Allfather. There could be a connection that links the biblical Three Wise Men and Jesus to Santa. Taking presents on camel-back to honour the baby-Jesus seems awfully similar to Santa taking presents to kids all over the world on a sleigh led by reindeer.

If the Three Wise Men really did get the idea from Santa, and seeing as how Mr. Claus was Norse-inspired, does that make Jesus Nordic? Wait, wait, there's a connection there as well. After all, many have said Jesus was Middle-Eastern but almost all his artistic depictions make him look like a blond or brown-haired white guy.

Norse Jesus? Sent to save humankind by the…Allfather? Carried to Earth and the 'virgin' Mary by Santa Claus as a gift to humankind? Santa riding down to give Jesus to Joseph and Mary much like Hagrid did that one time when he brought baby-Potter to Dumbledore on his flying motorcycle, so Albus Dumbledore and Minerva McGonagall could give Harry to the Dursleys?

Even the classic Christmas tree is of a species that grows in a land of ice and snow, not the Middle East. Plenty of candy for thought. And since Jesus could potentially have been Norse, did that technically make him a Viking? Also, much of Jesus' teachings are similar to many a Viking saying (google it).

Oh, and Merry Christmas!

Stereotypes...

Let's get rid of stereotypes, people! Why is it when a dog stares at you it's begging for food but when a cat does the same it's being judgy? I mean, a dog could be staring at you with the full intention of chasing you're a** and giving you a bite you won't forget. And a cat could be staring at you because it sees you as prey but, since it has been domesticated and made tiny as a consequence, it's doing the math and coming to the firm realization that it can't quite hunt you down and f**k up the few remaining minutes of your life. That's probably why it sent the dog after you, hmm, who knows. So, er, let's just, um, get rid of stereotypes, okay? Alright, enjoy your day.

Demons...

By answering our dark-magick summons or just casually feeding off our negative energies from the great beyond, demons and other supernatural entities are actually helping us. They are feeding on our darkness so our darkness won't pile up and crush us under its weight. Demons and their kind are drawn to our pain to remove it from us and thereby ensure that healing takes place. If you think demons are bad because they are associated with death, pain, suffering, and blood, then we'll have to assume all doctors are evil coz they too are present in such instances. Maybe our understanding of demons needs to change, because anything mad enough to come near human darkness must be coming with an intent to help remove, treat, cure, or consume our evils. So vote for demons, the true underdogs and saviours of the metaphysical world!

Archaeologists, Anthropologists...

Archaeologists and anthropologists are a lot like lawyers. It is their duty to sift through history and discover the truth, not choose which truth to discover. This is why they don't take sides and uphold any one culture over another. All civilizations are equal in their eyes, because all civilizations – their cultures, people, societies, choices, and truths – are part of the grand loom of human history.
