Alien Conundrum...
A prominent speaker addressed a room full of Science-Fiction enthusiasts:
"Some say aliens secretly monitor all human activity. Some theories even say they have halted the application of deadly nuclear-grade weapons during moments that only they knew might have led to a global catastrophe. Some even say that aliens secretly help maintain the good-bad-ugly state of things on Earth, all in keeping with some 'master program'. Now, if the world we live in is actually a simulation or hologram, if it is indeed some quantum-digital programmable space, some "Maya" world… what, then, is the purpose behind coding aliens into it?"
Someone in the audience broke the silence by shouting, "They're not aliens, they're admins!"

The end...
World extinction event begins in earnest once Earth crosses its final Climate Change tipping points.
Mass anarchy, chaos, disorder, and disruption render the planet a post-apocalyptic wasteland in a matter of months. Everyone is too separated and vulnerable now. A final top-tier Covid wave wipes out the last of the human race.
All who died wake up on board the Simulation Shuttle XB1. They take off their quantum-reality equipment. They whine and groan as they get acquainted with the REAL real world.
Just a few minutes into this, a man from the other side of the hall shouts, "Yo, who went and broke the game!?"
That man is me.

What's good for you may be bad for another. But they know others for whom that thing may be good. And that's how you find the people you want in your life.

Best advice I can give my friends who are also in their mid-30s and realizing we're rushing at 40 like its the last bowl of ice-cream at a family get-together:

War...
Two colleagues were taking a break when one of them said, "War is necessary for the world to sit down, relax, and reset. It is relevant for society not to grow exhausted."
His colleague took a breath before replying, "On the contrary, war bleeds you before you even sit and then makes it nearly impossible for you to get back up again. If you're left alive at all to do it. So no, war is not as relevant as you think it is."
