The Triple Cat Trick Challenge – How Did I Do?

Remember a few weeks ago, I had a trick where I combined jumping out of a box through a hoop?

That was lots of fun! And I got to practice that a little for the new challenge. But my human added something extra.

I had to jump out of the box, through the hoop, and ring my bell! To put it all together, my human had me practice all the elements separately. The hard part about the bell was I had to stop the momentum from the jump right in front of the bell to ring it.

My Human’s Visit With Moshow at Crumbs and Whiskers Cat Cafe

My human brought home this goodie bag from her visit at Crumbs and Whiskers Cat Cafe! She went down there to visit with our pal Moshow the the Cat Rapper. He was in town, partnering with the cafe and Meowtel for an event. She won the goodie bag while she was there.

You’ll get to find out the contents in a bit, but first I want to share the all the adoptable kitties my human photographed while she was there! She went a little nuts…at least she didn’t bring any of them home.

Yes, this kitty was a tripod! And very friendly.

And of course, Moshow! My human cropped herself out of the photo for here, but she’ll share the whole photo on her own social media.

Now you get to see the goodie bag contents! As you can see, there are a couple of catnip toys, a cute trinket and lots of stickers. Plus this very cute mini fan.

My human wondered if I’d be scared of the fan when she turned it on. But of course it was just the opposite — I immediately gravitated to it!

Even better, it has its own light!

I Pick Out My Own Summer Dress to Wear (Video)

Here I am, ready to pick out my own dress to wear! I’ve been doing it often enough that it’s turning into a series! This time, since it’s summer, I’m picking out a summer dress to model.

The hardest part is usually picking out the dress. You don’t see it in the finished videos, but sometimes it takes several tries before I pick cleanly enough for my human to know which one I want. But this time, it was pretty easy!

Here’s the dress I chose!

We tried to accessorize it, but I didn’t have anything that matched that well. Which is fine because I think it looks nice on its own. Check out the video below and let me know if you agree!

Garden Steps Portraits

I don’t get to pose on the steps behind the front yard garden very often. I don’t know why because it’s actually a really photogenic spot that creates some interesting lights and shadows. So it was a treat to visit there for a portrait session. You can see more photos below. No secret messages because you don’t need them.

July Video Compilation: Fashion, Fun, and a Silly Cat Trend!

My compilation for July is a little shorter than normal because a couple of videos I had scheduled wound up being pushed back until August. But it’s still loaded with lots of fun!

You’ll get to see me model the third of my Paris Hilton pet dresses.

I got to learn a cool new complex trick. I enjoyed learning it so much!

In fact, I did quite a bit of bouncing around, as you’ll see if you watch the final video.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t do a repeat — this tongue out shot is decidedly less cute.

If you saw yesterday’s post, you may have noticed I looked mildly annoyed at the peach kitty. In this photo, the airplane ears really came out.

Outside Training…With a Distraction

Remember my portraits from the other day? I mentioned I had been doing a training session. Well, there was video, and it tells more of the story about what went on before my human took the photos.

As you know, I do outside training sessions to sharpen my focus, since there are so many distractions out there! And of course, you’ve probably already figured there was one big distraction.

Actually he wasn’t so distracting that I couldn’t do my training. Except that my human kept egging him on. Or maybe she was the one who was distracted.

He managed to stay in the background for most of both my training and my photo sessions. But you can see it all below.

Fun Therapy Cat Time With the Kids

I had my therapy cat visit at the children’s hospital this week. The fun started in the lobby area, where a little girl stared at me, wide-eyed with her mouth open.

“I’m speechless!” she said, as I jumped on the couch for her to pet me.

She was beyond thrilled to have a kitty to hang out with! Her mom told me that when she was a caregiver she took her dog to the memory care facility, and how much that helped. And of course my human told her we had one we visited too.

Up in the rehab area, we hung out in the waiting room with several patients and their parents. One small girl and her dad happily petted me while her mom smiled and looked on. The dad — who was wearing a t-shirt with a cat on it — asked my human a lot of questions about my breed and cat care. He mentioned that he had been thinking of getting a dog for his daughter, but she really loved cats.

We also visited with a teen girl and her mom who were leaving, and another teen girl and her Spanish speaking mom who enjoyed my tricks. (My human brought my bell and had me do my tricks on this visit.) They had a cat at home, so it made them especially happy to see me.

We briefly went to the surgery area, where we visited with a sweet girl. She had been a burn victim (as was her brother, who was there too), and she was getting some sort of surgery on one of her hands. She petted me with the other hand for most of the visit.

Finally, we went down to the exam area. Along the way, we drew a crowd of kids and moms in the lobby. It was so much fun to be so popular!

One room we visited contained a girl with one leg. My human mentioned that I had been evaluated as a therapy cat at the previous location of the facility we were at — and she said she had been to that one. We don’t often hear stories about patients, but she chatted about hers. She lost her leg when she was two, and then a few years later had hip surgery. While we visited, the doctor showed up with her new leg, so it was time for us to leave.

I really love my therapy cat visits! Especially when they are as warm and fun as this one.

Lens Flare and Other Portraits

I haven’t done an outside training session in a while, and I think the way this one went explains why.

My human had the camera on and was shooting video when she noticed how cool the lens flare was from the late afternoon sun. So we wound up ending the session a little early so she could take some portraits, both with and without the flare. Here are more photos, and I don’t think any secret messages are necessary.

As we were leaving, I impulsively decided to lie down on the warm concrete. Which might explain the whole concrete slab trend I posted about recently. Of course she got a few shots then too. This was the best one.
