A Christmas Surprise

My human went to the post office last week and came home with a surprise package for me! It is from my pal and very distant relative, Jake, and the rest of his family — Angel, Kylie and Tessie, and their human Coco. Maybe you know their blog, The Daily Abyssinian!

You are probably wondering about me and Jake being related. Somalis, of course, originally came from the Abyssinian breed, and most Somali kitties have Abys somewhere in their lineage. Well, Coco is an amazing feline genealogist, and she traced my line and Jake’s, and there was a point somewhere in the far distant past that we actually share a couple of ancestors! It is sort of like your human neighbor who says they are distantly related to somebody famous, but they have to trace it back to the nineteenth century.

Anyway. You probably what to know what they sent me! One of the gifts was a beautiful hardcover edition of some of Coco’s brilliant cartoons! She is a very talented artist. This was especially cool because it is not for sale, although there is a Daily Abyssinian Zazzle store.

There was also a shiny box in a pretty gold bag.

It contained a dainty Somali charm! You can tell by my feet how small it is! My human loved it, especially since she has a hard time finding Somali things.

There were also a couple of Aby stickers! This was such a nice and thoughtful gesture! Thank you, Jake and Coco!
