Look What I Got (Finally!)

I have been waiting for this for weeks! And it finally came. I bet there are a number of you out there who know what it is.

My very own tote bag from Purina and Fancy Feast with my specially-designed logo. There was some sort of mailroom-type problem that kept me from getting mine until just a few days ago! But it was worth the wait.

Look at how big this tote bag is! It is way bigger than I am!

It’s so big that Binga fits inside, with room to spare! But judging from her expression, I don’t think I would want to be that close to her right now.

And for those of you who wondered about Boodie getting any box time on Saturday… she claimed this box as her own!

New Cat Art – Your Opinion Please!

My human is updating an image of mine for my Zazzle store and I need your opinion! It was on a t-shirt in my old CafePress store and more recently on a couple of anti-Gareth Morgan tees (he is the awful human who wants to rid New Zealand of all cats). My human has two versions of the image, as you can see below:

A. Image without ink outlines

B. Image with ink outlines

I decided to go without the ink outlines for the Gareth Morgan shirt because I thought it had a more guerilla-type look. But what do you think? Do you like it with or without the lines better? Or do you think the no-lines image is better for strong messages, and an image that includes lines is better for more arty-type of products?

Sunday Catinee: Kitties Meet Hedgehogs

You may have seen this cute little video that has been floating around the internet, of Loki the kitten checking out Harley the hedgehog:

What I find funniest about it is that it asks if you want to see more hedgehog videos at the end (since the hedgehog’s owners made the video), but if you are like me, you would rather see more Loki videos!

But of course, I could not leave it at one video. A quick search led me to more hedgehog and kitty clips. In this one Milo, the New Cat on the Block, meets Niko the hedgehog:

According to the human who uploaded the clip, Milo started touching the hairbrush the same cautious way he was touching Niko. Which leads me to the next clip of a cat who realized the benefits of having a hedgehog around! As you can see, the hedgehog was not thrilled about being used as a cat brush.

Help Rescue Kitties Saved From a Devastating Fire

I found out earlier from the Random Felines blog that one of the foster families in their area had a devastating fire and many of the kitties living there and looking for homes perished! Here is a news item with some details about this tragedy. The human whose house this was, Joyce, is an awesome woman who has helped so many kitties and is much loved by the other people at Colony Cats (& Dogs), the Columbus, OH-based rescue she is associated with.

So far, the rescue has estimated that they lost 12 kitties. Nine cats are being treated for smoke inhalation. Sixteen cats in all have been caught, but there are still some frightened kitties that are loose.

This is a terrible blow to Colony Cats, and especially awful for Joyce. If you can help donate any amount of funds, that would be awesome — you can find the donation link at the upper lefthand side of the Colony Cats website. If you want, you can specify that the money is for Joyce’s kitties. And if you live near the Columbus, OH area, please consider donating food or supplies in person, or volunteering. Let’s pull together and help Joyce and Colony Cats recover from this heart-breaking event.

Photo Hunt: Promise

When we got the Verus cat food not too long ago, my human gave me a promise that we cats could have the box it came in. The only problem is that it only fits one cat at a time! And you-know-who got in there first!

She used up so much box time that I thought Boodie was going to expire waiting for her turn.

Now, this is the way I like it!

Flashback Friday – My Cat Tree

Can you believe that we have had the same cat tree since Christmas, 2003? We were living in a totally different house back then. One thing that hasn’t changed — my human is still lousy at wrapping presents.

Oh, the other thing that never changes — then, as now with anything new, Binga tried to claim it as her very own!

In fact, she went a little bit crazy the day we got it. Actually, more than a little crazy.

She wouldn’t even let Boodie come anywhere near it! As you can see, Boodie was not happy about that.

My human had to lock Binga in a room and let me mark the tree with my scratches and scent so that she would realize that she was not the only cat allowed on the cat tree! And it worked!

Here it is today — as you can see, it is much the worse for wear! I would really like to know just why I have never gotten a new cat tree! When my second advice book came out in 2010, my human promised me that I could get a new cat tree if the book “went into royalties” (which means it made its advance back and started turning a profit). But so far, it has not! Frankly, I think that was a terrible condition to put on getting a new cat tree! It’s hard for a book put out by a big publisher to turn a profit! I am being gypped.

This old thing is ratty and certainly I deserve better. My human is resistant, especially after her appointment with her CPA. But I have a plan…

Cat Rules: The Penalty

Many humans have wondered what sort of penalties they get if they break a Cat Rule. I must caution them that the penalties are almost always very serious! In fact, the great majority of Cat Rules are punishable by the Death Penalty!

Taxing Monday

I spent the weekend helping my human get her taxes together for her appointment with her CPA today! It was awful, not because the paperwork was disorganized — my human is pretty good at keeping things in order — but because last year was one of her worst ever for income, and every receipt and tick of the calculator was just a reminder of how bad it was.

I kept looking under bills in search of misplaced income but I could not find any!

Hm. I wonder how much money I could get for Binga?
