My Glitzy New Accessories

You only briefly got to see my latest accessories at this past weekend’s cat show. So I thought I’d model them for you so you could see how they look without a busy background.
As you can see, I’m fascinated by them!
The collar alone is really glitzy! Check out how big these violet crystals are!
And the hat is amazing!
And here they are together. Do you think they are a bit much? Do you think I should wear a dress with them, and if so, what type of dress? Let me know what you think in the comments!

Concrete Pouring Cat Supervision

As soon as the week started, these guys appeared on the back patio with a bunch of equipment and concrete mix. They worked there for most of the day, and I could see them through the leaded glass doors. But once they finished pouring it, it was time for cat supervision! I went out to check on their work.
They weren’t pouring the whole back patio, just the patch you see in this photo from last August. It got torn up when my human needed to have a tree removed. The tree was dying and falling over so it needed to go. The guy who took the tree out said he knew someone to do the brick and concrete. But after a few weeks, it was clear my human had to find someone herself. So she did.
You can see their work here.
Here is a larger view here. Once the concrete dries, they’ll install the brick.
Because of the way our property is laid out, they had to lug everything up the stairs around one side of the house. Including this cement mixer.
I’m not sure what all this was. When you’re supervising you are not expected to know everything.
Yes, I did run across the concrete, but it was already pretty dry so I didn’t leave any prints. In fact, it needs to be dampened over the next few days to make sure it doesn’t dry too fast.
The crew sure left a lot of clutter around!
Not surprisingly, the peach kitty showed up. Clearly not impressed with the crew’s work.
He stuck around for a few minutes, and for treats. Then we clocked out for the day. Just kidding. Supervisors don’t need to clock in and out.

The Low Key Glam Cat Show

This weekend’s cat show was pretty quiet. This particular show is held in the gymnasium of a middle school, so it’s not exactly high profile.
But as you can see, my meet and greet area was even more elaborate than normal! That’s because in addition to meeting and greeting any cat show attendees, my human was also shooting video for a brand post we are working on. I can’t tell you anything about it yet, but they wanted me to have some of my show ribbons on display. And to dress it up more, my human hung up my wardrobe for the weekend.
If you saw my wardrobe sneak preview the other day, you’ll recognize most of these outfits!
I didn’t need to dress up for the brand video. In fact, considering how quiet it was, I really didn’t need to dress up at all.
But I dressed up anyhow because…well, it’s fun! Who doesn’t like dress up days?
And it was good practice too! Like, we didn’t bring an elastic strap for this hat and I had to balance it on my head.
Of course I also brought the usual boa and tiara.
And also this simple and elegant look.
And a surprise! My human ordered this hat and bow collar earlier in the week, and it arrived in time to bring to the show. I think it’s a pretty cool combo, don’t you?
I did make sure to get enough rest.
And I got a new toy! To sort of go with this other toy. So even if it was quiet, it was a fun weekend.

Mostly Tongue-Out Outtakes

I seem to spend an awful lot of time with my tongue sticking out, don’t I? Which is why you see so much of it in this week’s selection of outtakes.
Here’s the one photo where my tongue isn’t sticking out — and I’m surprised it wasn’t, considering my human was a holding an especially yummy treat.
I guess my tongue sticking out kinda ruined any sense of class I was trying to convey.
I certainly was giving somebody the raspberry here! But apparently not my human, since I wasn’t looking at the camera.
This one, on the other hand, was definitely for her.

Garden Glam Portraits

We’ve been having some pretty afternoons here, and the temperatures have been mild. So my human took me around the side steps of the front garden for some portraits. It took a little positioning on the steps to find the best lighting, but they turned out really nicely! I don’t think they need any secret messages, so I haven’t added any to the photos below.
Did you like them? If you have any favorites? Let me know in the comments.

Last Minute Shopping Trip

My human was out of my dinner! And she waited until the very last minute to pick it up. Literally. Here we were, at 5 PM at the pet store and my dinner was in a little over an hour.
Of course once we were there, I took the opportunity to do some browsing.
Oh, and rubbing on random items to make sure everyone knew I was there.
It seems like every time I visit the cat section of this particular store, they’ve changed things around.
In addition to my food, my human also picked up some treats. And a new toy for the peach kitty. His old catnip toys were looking pretty ratty, so she got him a new one. I hope he keeps it in the enclosed patio. He did with his other catnip toys. At least most of them.
As we were finishing up, my human found this flower crown and I tried it on. But the elastic was too long to fit me.
And of course I got some attention — and treats! — from the employees.
I love my shopping days. But I love being stocked up on my cat food even more!

Going Glam for a Low Key Cat Show This Weekend

I have a cat show this weekend! It’s in Ontario, California in a middle school gym. So it’s not exactly a glamorous location. But even though it’s low key, I can still go glam, right?
Since it’s starting to be that time of year, I picked out a lot of outfits with a fall feel.
I have been giving this combo some extra attention lately, so I’m bringing it.
And I thought I’d go full glam with a couple of outfits!
I’m not even sure I’ve worn this one at a cat show.
And in addition to glam, I’m going a bit goth too! You can see me modeling these outfits in the video below.
Which one did you like best? Let me know in the comments!

My Time With the Assisted Living Residents Is So Brief

I saw lots of my regulars on my therapy cat visit to the assisted living residence. The first ones I saw were the lady who likes my high fives, and a nice man who always enjoys seeing me. They were both on one sofa so I sat between them while a staff member took photos.
Often during my assisted living visits, someone follows me around to take photos, and that was the case this time. They directed me from resident to resident, and I knew most of them. One was the slightly weepy lady (I sat on her lap), and another was a lady with reddish hair who always enjoys seeing me.
The woman with heavy hands was wandering around, so a staff member got her to sit down for photos. It was kind of difficult to get both of us to look at the camera because, well, I’m a cat, and her eyes go in slightly different directions. In spite of the staff activity, my human made sure I had quality time with her and the other residents who especially love me.
In fact, my human pointed out the elderly lady who loves me to a staff member to make sure she got to spend time with me. The lady was so happy, she started bouncing around. It was cute.
I also saw the man who has warmed up to me over the years. He has a walker now, the staff member told my human. And that’s the sad part about our visits here. We’ve been coming for years, so we have to see the slow decline of our favorite residents. The high five lady looks a little more disheveled every time we stop by. The nice man who likes me is starting to forget me. My human knows that someday, the elderly lady will be missing and we won’t see her again.
When my human thinks about these things, it makes her realize how precious time is. And it makes her wish she could bring me around more often. She wants the residents to have as many visits with me as possible.

Peach Kitty Portraits

While my human was shooting yesterday’s video of me and the peach kitty, she also took some portraits of him. Want to see them? Of course you do!
You didn’t see in the finished video, but he spent some time hanging out on the bridge.
He hung out there for quite a while.
Is it just me, or is he actually smiling in this photo?
After he came off the bridge, he decided to goof off for a while.
Finally he settled down.
And this is where we ended up in the video.

Little Signs of the Bond Between Me and the Peach Kitty

I had a really nice visit with the peach kitty. And it’s funny because people sometimes wonder if I really enjoy his visits that much.
It’s true that he doesn’t seem to quite understand the concept of personal space. And I don’t think he realizes how much smaller I am than him.
But a couple of things we do reveals how close we are. We will mirror each other. And we will hang out together for as long as my human lets us, just a few feet apart. Which, if you know cat behavior, is a sign of being really comfortable with someone.
And in the video below, you can see body language about a minute in that gives it away too.
Do you see other signals about how the peach kitty and I feel about each other? Let me know in the comments.
