Impulsive Turret Portraits

I was having kind of a lazy summer afternoon. But when my human fired up the camera and grabbed some treats, you know I was ready to pose! It was the right time of day for the turret, so that’s where we shot photos.
I just immediately went into model mode.
Eventually we made our way to the top of the stairs. My human always tries to get photos of me with my front legs on a lower step than my back legs. This time, she did some portrait shots of me while I stood that way.
We finished up at the top of the turret by the iron railing.
So did you like my poses? Let me know in the comments!

How I Hang Out With the Peach Kitty

I know it looked like the peach kitty and I didn’t do much while we were hanging out together. But a deeper dig into the photos tells you there was more going on beneath the surface.
Here’s a photo series that shows our hang out in more detail. I don’t think you need any secret messages in these!

The Peach Kitty Stopped By

The peach kitty stopped by for a visit. He’s actually been around a few times since I got back from Canada. But this is the first time my human got enough photos for a blog post.
This time my human had something for him — a catnip plant she got to make the dirty Meowtini from my Cat World Domination Day variety show.
For a little while, I was beginning to think my visit was going to be ruined because you can never get him away from a catnip plant.
But my human gave me a few treats to make me feel better. And she did take the plant away from him after a while before he could totally kill it.
We hung out outside on the patio for a while and got treats.
He kept rubbing against me. Does he expect me to do it back? Because of course I’m not going to.
Finally he settled down and we hung out together just like two cats should. Not really touching, and not even looking at each other. That was nice.
My human keeps hoping he’ll solicit petting from her. (He lets her touch him if he is not looking.) But he continues to refuse.
Finally it was time for me to come inside. It was a long visit!

It’s National Fried Chicken Day!

What’s the best holiday after Cat World Domination Day? National Fried Chicken Day, of course! In fact, it might be my favorite holiday because I don’t have to do anything but eat fried chicken.
I couldn’t wait to dig in!
My human only very rarely indulges in fried chicken, so this really was a treat.
It was just a two-piece box of chicken, with a biscuit (and the coleslaw, which my human likes). But it was enough for both of us.
You can see the video of the fun I had below. After we finished shooting, my human tore off pieces of the fried chicken and tossed them for me to chase!

Not Ready for the Camera Outtakes

In every one of this week’s outtakes, I look like I’m totally not ready for the camera! And the results are unexpected and pretty funny.
My human wanted my paw on this little hotel amp…but I thought we were still practicing!
Yes, I do love cantaloupe, even if I don’t look like I’m enjoying this piece.
Doesn’t this photo just scream “Hold on, I’m not ready?”
We weren’t even at the airport yet, and I was airplane-ready. Airplane ears ready, that is.
Why does my human take photos when I’m still eating my treat?
And that’s it for this week’s outtakes! Let me know in the comments if you have a favorite.

Feline Frame Fiasco

When the sunglasses that came with my new Paris Hilton dress didn’t work, you saw me try a pair of cat eye glasses instead. And while I’m pretty good about wearing them, it’s still not easy! To call what you see below a feline frame fiasco is an understatement.
No secret messages this time because, let’s face it, you don’t need them!

Fun Therapy Cat Visit With the Kids

My therapy cat visit at the children’s hospital began in the elevator. My human and I went up with two patients and their mothers, and they were both delighted to see and pet me! So the visit was already off to a great start.
I spent a little time in the lobby, seeing patients waiting for their appointments. I had room to sit on a table with little toy cars laid out for kids to take. So I used the space to visit with two brothers. The younger boy was a little scared of me, but the older boy, who had a prosthetic arm, was happy to pet me.
I visited with one of the boys from the elevator before heading to the exam rooms. The first rooms we visited were the POPS rooms — Pediatric Orthotic and Prosthetic Services.
We almost didn’t visit the first patient we saw. He was busy with his dad and a nurse helping him on the exam table, his prosthetic legs propped against the wall. But he really wanted to see me, so my human brought me over and he petted me with his claw-like hand, the same type of hands as his father.
In the middle aisle of exam rooms, a nurse helped us out by asking patients for us if they wanted to see me, and all of them did, even the allergic boy. Sometimes people who are allergic to cats want to see me anyway, but my human’s very careful with them. Usually, like in this case, she discourages them from touching me, and just has me do tricks.
The other two patients were allergy free and petted me with no problem. One was a little girl, and the other was a family — two parents and a middle school aged girl. Although they were Spanish speaking and the card outside their door requested an interpreter, they actually spoke English. My human assumed that it was just easier for them to speak in their native language for important things like medical care.
After visiting a groggy teenager coming out of surgery upstairs, we thought we were done. But there was a little boy running around in the lobby who wanted to see me…and then didn’t! A few yards away, his dad was busy chatting with a staff member. Meanwhile the boy skirted around me, wondering if he should touch me or not.
Finally, we signed out and headed for the elevator. The little boy almost followed me in there!
It was a fun visit.

Another Paris Hilton Pet Dress

One Paris Hilton pet dress was pretty cool. So was finding a second one. But here’s yet another one for me to model!
If you look past the leopard print of the fabric, it’s really pretty similar to the one I modeled not that long ago. Down to including some glasses.
Glasses, that I must add, were also way too big for my head!
The dress, of course, fit perfectly.
You can see the bow better from this angle.
Since there was no way the sunglasses that came with the dress would work, we looked for an alternative. Unfortunately, nothing I had really matched this dress. The closest I came was these pink sunglasses, but I think a dark frame would have worked much better.
So what do you think? Do you like this dress? Have any ideas for accessories? Let me know in the comments!

More Fun Photos from Canada

I had so many leftover photos from my Canada trip that I just had to share them! Once you see them, you’ll understand why.
This one is from the hotel lobby in Langley. See the arm holding a phone on the right? That’s my human’s boyfriend.
Here I am, a little while later in the Vancouver hotel lobby.
My human took some nice photos of me sitting on the window ledge of the hotel room. This is one of the best ones.
The nice guy who checked us into the hotel (his name was Kiti — yes, like kitty!) gave the humans a pair of breakfast vouchers. My human’s not really a breakfast person, so she got this bagel and lox sandwich for her boyfriend to have later. You can see what I thought of it!
They also brought some leftover fruit up to the hotel room, including cantaloupe! I used to love it, but I haven’t had it in forever.
Here’s the requisite shower cap photo.
Here I am, at an airport lounge with my human on the way home.
I hope you enjoyed the extra photos! Let me know in the comments which ones you liked best.

Returning to Vancouver…After 8 Years!

My human, her boyfriend, and I flew to Vancouver for 6 days last week! The last time I was there was in the late winter of 2017, 8 years ago! They chose the slowest travel days, so it didn’t take too long to get through customs. But I still made friends at the baggage claim.
The first night, we actually didn’t stay in Vancouver. We went to Langley, a little ways east of there.
It turned out to be a mini-suite with a small kitchen area.
We had to leave the next day, unfortunately! because I loved having the extra room. But I did make friends with one of the hotel employees while we were checking out.
Our next hotel was in the Yaletown district of Vancouver. My human felt there was something really familiar about it…and discovered it was the same hotel we’d stayed in last time! They had just changed the name and the decor.
This time, we stayed on the top floor, and the view was awesome.
Among other things, the room decor included this cat sized Marshall amp! It looked like it was actually functional. Why it was there was a mystery.
It had a pretty large living room and office area, with this huge sofa! You saw the desk the other day. My human’s boyfriend took over the sofa, and had bunches of papers and notes all over the table in front of it.
It was a bit chilly in Vancouver while we were there, so my human pulled out a blanket. It turned out to be the softest, most comfy blanket ever! I pretty much adopted it.
If you were wondering why we were up there, it wasn’t for a vacation. The humans were meeting with the BC Film Commission and scouting locations to possibly shoot a film in the area. They were all over Vancouver and parts of Langley to see locations that the commission had already sent for consideration. They also gave them this goodie bag. It included some gourmet nuts too, but those were already eaten before my human took this photo.
They also stopped at a nearby grocery and came back with a few snacks, including this cookie.
Even though 6 days seemed like a long trip before we left, it really seemed short by the end! My human was worried about going through U.S. customs, but she made it through without any problems. Once we were at the gate, we saw a dog that was the same color as me!
And three hours later, we were back in Los Angeles! I got to watch the luggage being unloaded from the plane. And of course one of the baggage people saw me, and started pointing and waving! What can I say, I make friends everywhere I go.
