Breaking Ministry Barriers - Breakthrough Ministry Principles

Breaking ministry barriers is essential to achieve success in life and ministry. Here below are some breakthrough ministry principles to empower and equip you for greatness.

Let's put God before money, but know that money is needful to sustain life and ministry. Hence this is why many shrink back and falter in ministry because they are ashamed to ask for finances in return for their service, which God has commanded (read 1 Corinthians 9:14; Romans 13:7; 15:27; 1Corinthians 9:11).

The devil is a liar (John 8:44) and says:
- you're too young (not true - Luke 2:42-52)
- you're a woman (not true in Christ - Gal.3:28)
- you have no money (not true - Haggai 2:6-8; Philippians 4:19)

You never have a money problem, only an idea problem as any God inspired idea from the Creator of heaven and earth will create something of value to give back and generate wealth, enabling you to do well while doing good.

Unbelief and unbelieving believer hinder the blessing of God.

Striking the rock did not keep Moses from the promised land. It was rather his repeated inability to speak to his circumstances (Mark 11:23) and people under his authority, as Moses' tendency was to give ear to the people and murmur and complain about them to God as they murmured and complained to him. Joshua and Caleb did not allow the people to be their point of reference, choosing rather to believe the Word of the Lord and boldly do what God said.

‎'And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye BELIEVED ME NOT, to sanctify Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them' (Numbers 20:12). 'Be ye angry, and sin not' (Ephesians 4:26a). Since righteousness is by faith (Romans 1:17), the evil that kept Moses out of the promised land was unbelief (Hebrews 3:12).

Beware of unbelieving believers and ministers who don't believe their own prayers will be answered (Luke 1:18-20, Hebrews 11:6). Thankfully sometimes God shuts His preachers' mouths to fulfill and answer their prayers (see also Numbers 14:28).

Divine Relationships or Relationship Trouble?

Divine relationships are birthed by the Holy Spirit within you, who shall teach you all things and lead you into all truth and blessings for your life (John 14:16-17,24; 16:12-13; 7:37-39; 10:27; Acts 1:8; 1John 2:20,27).

However if you have not given your life to Jesus, you don't have the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:9). The good news is Jesus will freely give the Holy Spirit to those who surrender and give their lives to Him, calling out for the blessed Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13).

Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and to come live big in you by the Holy Spirit that rose Him from the dead over death, hell, and the grave. The crucified Christ who died for you wants your sins and shame so you don't have to bear the weight of the burden in your soul. Give your life to Jesus and be born again (John 3) and made completely whole.

Rejoice! It's a new day for you!

Alcoholism - Breaking Addictions by Confronting Cycles of Defeat Perpetuating Pain

Alcoholism is a heavy load for any individual and family. Breaking addictions even more so!

As a surviving son of a mother who was an alcoholic and drug addict (and predeceased my grandparents who raised me), I know a bit about overcoming adversity and the dangers of substance abuse.

Growing up my mother was either in a bar getting drunk, jail for inappropriate behavior, a mental ward for examination, or at a rehab to treat her substance abuse.

Sadly for decades she tormented herself and my precious grandparents who tried so desperately to help her.

Ironically, my mother was killed by an 18 year-old drunk driver while she was inebriated and running across an Orlando road in the early morning hours.

In 2008, I myself was hit by a drunk driver (a 61 year-old woman who was arrested on the spot for her 2nd DUI in two years, but not before she tried to flee the scene of the accident and hit a parked car ...which she totaled along with my vehicle). Thankfully, by the grace of God I survived to write and tell about the experience and today speak worldwide on substance abuse prevention and warn people of all ages about the dangers of drunk driving.

This week as I wrote my younger brother (half brother from my stepmother), who is currently in jail (again) for another stupid act he committed while drunk, I was brought to remembrance something his Russian girlfriend in Ukraine once said.

While my brother Franklin was criticizing me and my faith in God to his Russian girlfriend (during a vacation in which I took him to Ukraine over Christmas holidays to get away from his depressing surroundings), Katya responded by saying: "But he has a system that works for him."

A SYSTEM - yes, indeed. We all live by belief systems, whether we be atheists, recovering alcoholics, or stubburn alcoholics living in denial.

Thankfully, my mother and brother's behavior (and excessive pain caused me and my family) has been enough to deter me from any alcohol and drugs whatsoever. I even avoid drugs when prescribed by doctors for medical reasons, opting for nutritional supplements instead.

Yet the matter of systems, personal systems by which we live and internally are wired -- that I'd like to address. Incidentally, Katya is the only young lady Franklin tells me he ever truly loved (as he adored her beauty and intellect).

In love, in hopes of jarring and waking my brother (who has spent over 10 years in and out of jail due to alcohol related misdemeanors) up out of his stupor to hate alcohol and its affects on the brain, mind and emotions as I do (so he can turn his life around, as he really is a wonderful and intelligent young man when he is sober), I wrote the following to him on a post card (as the jail in Tavares, Lake County, FL now forbid letters to be sent / written to inmates deeming them "contraband" and now only permits postcards).

'What is your SYSTEM?'

A - always dependent
L - losing continually, never increasing
C - can't do without it
O - out of control
H - helplessly addicted
O - octopus like entanglements
L - legally bound behind bars

'I love and believe in you, but NOT your SYSTEM.'

Now, I know to some of you reading this, you will think that post card message was a bit harsh. Well, after two pages and over 10 years of alcohol and drug induced criminal behavior that has tortured himself and our family, I think what is more cruel is for a human being to not forsake his wicked ways and live right for his own betterment and those who love him.

As I watched the movie 'The Fighter' about two brothers who overcame poverty and substance abuse to win the championship in boxing, I felt compassion and righteous indignation to try again to speak / write to my brother.

He is a talented young man and could have had a baseball scholarship to any university in the country. Yet because of substance abuse, his grades went down, he got sassy with teachers, expelled from school, and had to earn a GED rather than graduate with his classmates.

Hence gifts are given by God, but they also must be guarded and guided. Franklin also was intelligent, a spelling bee winner, and scored higher on his SATs than me. Yet unlike me (as I'm more disciplined and he more talented) he has never graduated from college or university.

My deceased mother was no less talented and beautiful, she being a cheerleader on homecoming court in high school and an honor graduate who graduated from UCF (back in the day it was FIT). Yet because of bad friends, she got caught up and swept away in the experimental drug use Woodstock era and couldn't break the grip of substances over her life.

Thanks be to God the power of Jesus Christ, His love, forgiveness, cleansing blood, and empowering Holy Spirit I know newness of life.

You can too if you fall to your knees and ask Christ to forgive you of your sins and come live big in you with the same resurrection power that rose Him from the dead. Ask Jesus to fill you to overflowing with the blessed Holy Spirit and to burn away the chaff in your life today!

Church Growth Conference: Breakthrough Church Growth Conferences

My promise to Pastors when I preach, teach, speak, and conduct church growth conferences in your cities:

If a church growth conference does not cause Pastors, ministers, and church members to grow, increase financially, experience joy and peace inwardly, and hear God's voice more frequently than God is unlikely to be found therein.

For too long God's people have been simply "walking with Jesus" (or so they believe), but not "going up" to possess the promised land nor their personal inheritance (see Numbers 13:30).

Meanwhile Pastors are content to take weekly offerings, promising God's people prosperity, while failing to teach the principles of prosperity and ways of God to enrich their lives and bring about the very prosperity they promise.

I am willing to suffer and be martyred. I've lived and ministered overseas in impoverished, hostile and war-torn regions (and will happily do so again). Hence I'm not merely seeking comfort and prosperity, as anybody who knows me can confirm.

Yet if God has given me keys to open prison doors to empower and enrich the poor and His people (Hosea 4:6), why oppose me when God Himself has anointed me to bring health and the ways to cultivate wealth? (3 John 1:2; 2Corinthians 8:9).

Is poverty a badge of honor, false humility, and pseudo-spirituality behind which some hide? Possibly and sadly for they who know little of heaven (where God has gold streets) and His kingdom that promises total liberation and abundant life for they who seek first the will of God (John 10:10; Matthew 6:33; Mark 10:29-30; Romans 15:29).

‎"The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it." (Proverbs 10:22)

If ALL of the Bible is not TRUE, than NONE of it is TRUE - so why embrace an unscriptural gospel of poverty to make yourself feel better about your situation?

Despite the immense and ongoing suffering of the apostle Paul (after whom I'm named), he who wrote two-thirds of the New Twstament declared boldly in 2Corinthians 8:9 - "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich."

I pray you can grow in the grace of God to experience the FULLNESS of the BLESSING OF CHRIST (Romans 15:29).

‎"Godliness is PROFITABLE in all things" (1 Timothy 4:8).

The curse of disobedience to God is 'thorns and thistles' - an unfruitful life (Genesis 3:17-18), but Christ took the 'crown of thorns' upon His head so you can be free, fruitful, multiply, and break forth into the abundant life overflowing with blessings (Matthew 27:29; Deuteronomy 28:1-14; Hebrews 8:6).

So the next time you advocate and defend poverty, see youself removing the crown of thorns from the head of Christ - part of the very purpose for which He came to the earth to fully liberate humanity (1 John 3:8). Where there is partial freedom and partial bondage, there cannot be total liberty in your life.

God brought the Israelites out of Egypt "with silver and gold and there was not one feeble" or sick among their tribes (Psalm 105:37).

Why then advocate and defend poverty and sickness, when God promotes and gives health and wealth (3 John 1:2)?

God wants to bless His people, but self-appointed and arrogant Pastors preaching "another gospel" (1Corinthians 11:4), "another Jesus" and being influenced by "another spirit" will not LET THEM.

‎"Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor My [God's] righteous cause; and let them say continually, “Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant” (Psalm 35:27).

So God takes pleasure in prospering His SERVANTS (not selfish and self-centered children who merely warm church pews, complain, compare and do nothing), but ignorant Pastors and Christians take pleasure in poverty as a badge of "spirituality" (LOL) and false humility.

'Prophesy against the shepherds [Pastors] ...who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks? You eat the fat and clothe yourselves with the wool; you slaughter the fatlings, but you do not feed the flock. The weak you have n...ot strengthened, nor have you healed those who were sick, nor bound up the broken, nor brought back what was driven away, nor sought what was lost; but with force and cruelty you have ruled them' (Ezekiel 34:2-5).

If you want to be ignorant and poor (as many are), you are entitled to do so (see 1Corinthians 14:38).

Show me your friends and I will show you your future (see Proverbs 13:20). Show me your Pastor and I will show you your future too! "Like people; like priest" (Hosea 4:9) - some are rewarded, while others are punished accordingly.

Here is the balance for the discerning heart. The prosperity message is usually embraced by Pastors and churches "going into all the world" with the Good News of Christ because they realize the cost of doing so.

‎"Dead congregations" (Proverbs 21:16) however neither embrace the Great Commission of Christ, nor the abundant life (including health and wealth) He promised. Hence they live without purpose in poverty and misery.

Now having heard / read all of this, choose this day (Deuteronomy 30:19) what "Jesus", "gospel", "church", and "spirit" you will align yourself with. Your decision will affect you, your family, and posterity bringing cursings or blessings, death or life.

Just remember why Jesus died on the cursed tree [cross] and wore the crown of thorns (Galatians 3:13-14) 'that the BLESSING of Abraham might come upon us' through the Holy Spirit by faith.

The blessing of Abraham is that we 'multiply exceedingly' and be 'exceedingly fruitful' ...so the kings [rulers of the earth] come to us! (Genesis 17:1-6; 1Kings 10:24) The wisdom of God translates into wealth and worldwide influence (Ecclesiastes 9:16; Luke 1:17).

It's the Holy Spirit within that 'teaches me all things' (John 14:26; 16:13; Psalm 45:1).

Where would you like your heavenly Father to 'deliver' you? To a place of poverty and adversity, or a 'spacious place' (Psalm 16:5-6; 18:35-36) of prosperity?
