Michael Jackson Dies. King of Pop on Prescription Meds? Michael Jackson death & prescription drugs overdose.
While working out at the gym tonight I heard on TV Michael Jackson died. What a sad and devastating loss for the Jackson family and the world at large. Such a magnificent performer and person gone in the twinkling of an eye. It just didn't seem right.
Being a former fitness trainer beholding Michael Jackson dance around like lightning, I knew the man's heart had to be strong apart from emotional stress and possible prescription meds (which I speculate he was taking prior to his death). Then when I heard Michael's brother Jermaine Jackson speak to the media on behalf of the family Thursday evening concerning the loss of his brother Michael, I knew something was up.
Jermaine said, “It is believed he suffered cardiac arrest in his home. However, the cause of death is unknown until the results of the autopsy are done.” Having been trained in advanced interrogation the choice of words was cause for concern.
Then when I heard Michael had a doctor living with him, I thought that was a bit odd for a man his age. Yet Michael has always been a bit eccentric. However upon seeing an old interview replayed wherein Michael held a baby on his lap and nervously bounced his knee extremely fast the whole time, I could see this wonderful man whose performances touched and uplifted the world himself was very troubled and restless within.

The countless facial surgeries were an outward manifestation of the inner turmoil occurring within Michael. Sadly he who gave hope to so many and made people who saw themselves as nobodies believe in themselves, the same man Michael Jackson deeply yearned for unconditional love and affirmation himself. With such extraordinary wealth and influence it is no wonder Michael enjoyed being with animals and children, they who loved Michael for Michael (not what they could get from Michael).
People very close to Michael Jackson reacting with such surprise, it makes you wonder what really was going on.
“I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news,” the music producer Quincy Jones said in a statement read by MSNBC. Mr. Jones said Mr. Jackson “had it all — talent, grace, professionalism and dedication.” Mr. Jones added, “I’ve lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him.”
Berry Gordy, founder of Motown Records who helped turn the Jackson 5 into pop stars, said on CNN.com that he felt sorry “for all of the fans around the world that are so much in love with Michael.”
Mr. Gordy said that Mr. Jackson, as a boy, “always wanted to be the best, and he was willing to work as hard as it took to be that. And we could all see that he was a winner at that age. And I’ve always believed winners are winners long before they win. And picking them out before they win is very easy with a Michael Jackson.”
I feel Cher said it best when talking to Larry King about Michael Jackson. "Michael was touched and had something special from God."
I could't agree more! Unfortunately I feel Michael wrestled with his manhood, identity, and as he so eloquently sang "the man in the mirror." Yet Michael beautifully looked beyond himself to marvel and amaze us all with his brilliance as a songwriter, his moves as a dancer, his wow factor as a performer, and his boldness to be true to himself no matter what the media or others said. Keeping his childlike heart and transcending his own personal grief from boyhood onward, Michael showed himself a man and a prince on the platform greatly praised throughout the world.
Michael broke the rock and color barrier, transcending rock and birthing pop. Liberating generations of performers that follow him to be free to express themselves authentically, Michael Jackson's accomplishments musically are legendary.
I only wish he could have lived longer to enjoy the fruit of his labor, see his grandchildren, and rejoice with his family. Michael shall always be loved, his songs cherished, and his presence missed.
Nevertheless let Michael's absence be a reminder to the media to be gracious to celebrities who are also human beings (often inwardly suffering in some personal way as the rest of us who struggle with various challenges of life). Let Michael's sudden death be a reminder to all performers to cultivate their personal life beyond their platform persona. Let Michael's untimely departure remind us all to cherish every moment of the life we have and to live our dreams fully, unapologetically, and wholeheartedly.
Michael you thrilled us with your life and your tragic death alike.
Godspeed my friend.
ps. To be promoted and make your home in heaven after life on earth, there is only one name by which humanity can be saved and taste the afterlife, that is Jesus Christ the life and the resurrection (Acts 1:10-11; 4:12; John 11:25).

Paul is no stranger to substance abuse, as his mother died prematurely as a result of it. Moreover Paul too knows depression and heartache following his ex-wife's affair which broke his heart, brought him to a personal ground zero, and caused him to take a strong look at the "man in the mirror". Yet Paul found hope and restoration when he looked into the mirror of God's Word which brought transformation within causing him to transcend his pain and win (James 1:22-24).
Some call God Allah, as does Jermaine Jackson. Jesus however is the undisputed Prince of peace. I pray the love, comfort, and goodness of God will be with the Jackson family and friends throughout this difficult time.
Another "king" named Elvis seemingly died in a similar way as Michael. Elvis the son of a minister wrestled within his soul to find peace. Truly peace is not found in a preacher or religion, but in connecting with the Creator of the world and King of the universe. Within the quietness of your own heart, cry out to Jesus right now and invite the Spirit of Christ to comfort and fill you to overflowing.

Coaches Success Secrets – Inspiring Coaches to Make Champions & Build Winning Teams
I’d be delighted to inspire and empower your coaches, assistants and parents at the annual Coaches Clinic. Truly the world is a better place because of coaches!
Hall-of-Fame runnng back Tony Dorsett (Dallas Cowboys) said: “To succeed, you need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate you, something to inspire you.”
Coaches often are the ones that grip the hearts of their players, inspiring, and motivating them to achieve greatness.
Football great and former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka said: “Before you can win, you have to believe you are worthy.”
Coaches affirm players’ personhood, awaking and affirming their hearts causing them to know they are worthy and champions within; after which they arise to live up to their coach’s expectations on the field.
Legendary coach Vince Lombardi said, “Coaches who can outline plays on a black board are a dime a dozen. The ones who win get inside their players and motivate.”
This precisely is where coaches begin their art - getting inside of and motivating their players.
As a worldwide motivational speaker, life coach & NLP master practitioner I’ve got the word power to empower your coaches to inspire their players to achieve greatness on and off the field.
As Lombardi said, “Confidence is contagious. So is lack of confidence.” Here often is where coaches fall short and demoralize their players and team. How often coaches fail before they even begin by reason of their unharnessed emotions and inward discouragement communicated nonverbally before they ever begin to speak. Coaches must carry and continually deposit within their players the spirit of faith – to believe in themselves individually and the team collectively. Without the fire of faith and enthusiam burning within their players’ hearts, the life force within will not flow forth physically and athletically when the players step foot on the field.
Vince Lombardi said, “Teamwork is what the Green Bay Packers were all about. They didn’t do it for individual glory. They did it because they loved one another.”
When I hear this I’m reminded of what legendary FSU college football coach Bobby Bowden said during an interview about what made him a winning coach, “I teach my players to love one another. If I can just get them to love one another they will block for one another and win football games.”
At first I thought mentioning “love” was a bit awkward when it comes to coaching, but upon further evaluation of the game of football I now understand what Lombardi and Bowden are talking about. Essentially football (as said by Lombardi himself) is simply two things: tackling and blocking.
A coach therefore must build confidence, but simultaneously crucify the ego within individuals that might thwart the team effort.
As a coach Lombardi said, “The leader can never close the gap between himself and the group. If he does, he is no longer what he must be. He must walk a tightrope between the consent he must win and the control he must exert.”
Navigating through this tightrope as a coach takes an awakened intuition and gutt instincts. You have to know your players inside and out – being able to speak an encouraging word when a player is demoralized to awaken the champion within and simultaneously chastise players when they begin to slack and hold back in practice.
Perfecting each player to a place of peak performance in practice, a coach can then wholeheartedly march on to the gridiron on game day knowing his team has worked their hearts out beforehand to give their all on the field in pursuit of victory.
The coach however who is doubleminded and wayward in heart, will remain incongruent within and therefore crippled, unable to motivate and inspire his team with enthusiasm to believe in themselves and win. A coach therefore must be a fireman, an arsonist able to light the flame within the hearts of his players, assistant coaches and team!
Losing can never be considered, verbalized, nor permitted in one’s vocabulary inwardly or outwardly. Should the score reflect otherwise at the end of the game, you must still never admit a loss, only that time ran out.
By harnessing and rallying individual commitment to a group effort, any coach can make a team work and magnificently cause his dream to work wonderfully on the field, within a company, and in his or her community.
Since leaders are made and not born, coaches must have the vision, insight, words, and heartfelt tenacity to inspire greatness within his players to rise up, break the barriers, and fullfill their utmost potential.
As Hall-of-Fame coach Tom Landry (Dallas Cowboys) said, “When you want to win a game, you have to teach. When you lose a game, you have to learn.”
Coaches therefore birth life, faith, and hope within their players while revisiting them repeatedly to do so again and instruct them furthermore en route to perfection to become an unstoppable force and team!

Substance Abuse Prevention Speaker & Drunk Driving Detour Speaker: Escape the Death Trap Before You Self-Destruct
Substance abuse prevention speakers take the topic seriously, but sometimes I wonder just how many others do? I suppose as a substance abuse prevention speaker who knows the pain and torment personally from an experiential level, I am more apt to see the danger in substance abuse and drunk driving.
I grew up the son of a mother (a former high school cheerleader and honor graduate) who was an alcoholic and substance abuser. As a child I saw my beloved mother self-destruct and torment my grandparents as a result of alcoholism and using every drug imaginable. Ironically, my mother (a former drunk driver herself) was killed when crossing the road as a pedestrian when an 18 year-old drunk driver hit her – killing her on impact.
Dead on arrival, police awaited the return of the young drunk driver who left the scene of the accident. Upon returning, the police video (which I later painfully watched) showed the young man crying and screaming, “I can’t live with this on my mind!”
As a former lifeguard and fitness trainer I don't drink alcohol to this day. Yet I don't condemn those who do and kindly serve as the designated driver whenever anybody close to me drinks.
After a childhood of pain and hell as a result of substance abuse and drunk driving, I myself was hit and nearly killed in July 2008 by a drunk driver (a two-time DUI offender driving after her license was revoked). The 61 year-old lady barreling down the road in a large Chevy truck, driving drunk at 4:40PM on a Tuesday afternoon, hit my car repeatedly (completely totaling it and nearly killing me) without stopping, attempting to flee the scene of the accident, after which she hit and totaled a parked car before being arrested by police.
For nearly five months I drove numerous rental cars, while battling my insurance company to be financially compensated to purchase a replacement vehicle for my automobile totaled by the negligible drunk driver. Even worse I spent days and nights in hospitals and doctors’ offices receiving medical treatment after the accident for injuries, which still cause me pain and trouble to this day. The added stress and strain medically and financially also negatively affected my marriage, as logistically my wife and I shared the one vehicle the drunk driver totaled.
Personally encountering the crooked and fraudulent business practices of tow truck companies, medical professionals, insurance claims adjusters, and car salesmen added additional aggravation and suffering to my life at a time when I was most vulnerable.
Nevertheless I somehow persevered and battled through it all to stand tall, becoming a voice of conscience to substance abusers, drunk drivers, they who prey on victims of catastrophic accidents, and those suffering through seasons of tragedy turning their world upside down.
I guess God spared my life so I can speak to others.

Motivational Speakers Needed? Speakers for Success, Colleges, Schools & Students
It's surprising in such an advanced technological age with the worldwide web, how few self-professed motivational speakers have a video available of themselves speaking. It kind of makes me wonder just how often they really do speak.
Motivational speakers who do this sort of thing as a hobby and part-time job don't quite get the importance of an electronic press kit, or videos to show meeting planners booking speakers that they've got the goods. As it has been said, "The proof is in the pudding baby!"
You've either got it or you don't. Nevertheless a gift can be developed, cultivated, and brought to maturity over time. I myself grew immensely while cutting my teeth as a worldwide speaker predominately in third world, impoverished nations where few people (much lest self-absorbed, egotistical speakers) would dare to go.
Cross-cultural interaction with people from every continent on earth will quickly reveal to you how little you know. Moreover as a motivational speaker you soon learn that the ability to connect with people is far more important than lecturing them from the podium.
Ironically, some of my best motivational talks occurred overseas where I and the audience connected supernaturally on foreign soil. The serendipitous moments were indescribable and awe inspiring for me as a motivational speaker. When you have a genuinely intellectual curious audience passionate about acquiring knowledge to improve their lives, you as a motivational speaker can really make a tremendous impact.
This is my passion and how I grew into becoming a worldwide motivational speaker. Although today I do the bulk of my speaking in North America, my heart still longs to return to those war-torn nations where I first began. Something about the purity of heart and simplicity of life there continually pulls at my heart strings.
I'll never forget leaving African villages while our hosts sang goodbye to us. My heart overflowed with love and life, while my eyes filled with tears.
This is what being a motivational speaker is about for me. If you are in need of a motivational speaker, make sure you feel a heart to heart connection before you proceed.
If you need a motivational speaker, Paul is happy to serve you and tailor make a talk to best fit your audience.
As an incredible author of 18 life-changing books, if given sufficient time, Paul can also write a book for your event to leave with those who attend. Paul's network of speakers promise high energy, heartfelt inspiration, and to make a life-changing impact on those present.
Paul F. Davis is a worldwide motivational speaker who has touched over 50 countries & 6 continents building bridges cross-culturally and empowering people throughout the earth to live their dreams!
Paul has appeared on numerous internationally broadcast shows from Oprah & Friends to Fox News Radio to talk about relational intricacies, conflict resolution, peacemaking, foreign policy, and diplomacy. By reason of his global travels, Paul is a highly sought after diversity and multicultural awareness speaker.
Paul worked at Ground Zero in NYC during 9/11; helped rebuild a home at the tsunami epicenter; comforted victims of genocide in Rwanda; spoke to leaders in East Timor during the war; inspired students & monks in Myanmar; promoted peace & reconciliation in Pakistan; and has been so deep into the bush of rural Africa where villagers had never before seen a white man.
Academically outstanding Paul humorously and elegantly transforms individuals and organizations.

College Speaking, College Speakers, College Speaks, University Speaker Series
Ever since I began speaking back in 1991 (18 years ago) to underprivileged, impoverished, and imprisoned persons; my heart was immediately gripped by the attentiveness with which my audience responded to my messages.
Let me tell you, speaking to impoverished people and children is no easy task. They can see through insincerity and hogwash in a heartbeat. Conversely, they can also quickly connect with heartfelt sincerity and a man who has personally overcome adversity.
Within the Orlando prison at 33rd Street, I gained clearance and access through my local church; which gave me total liberty to round up inmates and speak to them about personal empowerment and a wide array of other topics. The response of the inmates was tremendous. Honestly, I was blown away and had no idea they would be so eager and attentive when I spoke.
A correctional officer told, "They aren't usually like this for the other speakers that come through here. They really like you!"
This is how my speaking career. Upon leaving Orlando and going overseas, I was met with the same cheerful exuberance by countless crowds of people throughout the nations of the world to which I traveled. Even more so the majority of the time as no speakers had ever dared to travel to many of these impoverished and war-torn nations. People within these lands were desperate for a word of encouragement from a motivational speaker.
Once I realized my words carried weight, were penetrating hearts, and changing lives; I began to put my spoken words in book form to further multiply the impact of my message. Again the response was phenomenal.
Quite frankly being a successful speaker is a humbling experience for three reasons. The first is as you speak to a crowd, you pull from your own life experiences, which you often purposefully revisit to help others. The second is you are continually amazed at how your own personal hardships and struggles were divinely designed to bring you to the place where you are today to help others. Thirdly as a speaker it is awe inspiring to see people hang on your every word and simultaneously a huge responsibility, because you may be breathing the last word of hope into somebody's heart who is facing overwhelming odds and life threatening circumstances.
I therefore take speaking extremely seriously and equate speaking to my former job of a lifeguard when I was in college. As a college youth I served as a lifeguard at several water parks and at a city lake over the course of a few years. Speaking like lifeguarding is such that you have to always be alert, keep your eyes open, and be attentive to the crowd of people before you.
Upon returning to the college circuit, my speaking flourished because overseas college students celebrated me the most and were those who most deeply resonated with my messages. College speakers carry something special for college students during that pivotal and transitional time of their lives, while they are in preparation for something greater in the future.
College speaks volumes to me in retrospect, because those were transformative years for me. College speaks truth and reality to the hearts of students experientially merely by the fact kids are no longer living under mom and dad's roof and now must be more accountable to care for themselves. College speaks fresh joys, experiences, and challenges of all sorts and sizes. College speaks a dynamic social life that must be wisely balanced with academic pursuits, which shall prove to be the professional foundation for one's future.
As a highly requested speaker within the university speaker series of lecturers frequenting universities and colleges worldwide, college speaking can be very demanding as the time traveling can be exhausting for some less experienced speakers.
College speaking is not just something we do for fun and forget about thereafter. The true college speaker carries a heartfelt burden for students and is a warrior in heart, knowing his or her message will impact, transform, and potentially save the lives of impressionable college students.
That being said I take college speaking very seriously, exercise regularly to strengthen my body for the demands of global travel, and devour books on an ongoing basis (when I'm not also writing books - and I'm the author of 18 books to date) to prepare myself to deliver the highest energy and richest content possible to impact every college and university to whom I speak.
