Peepy Solves the 39 Clues, Chicago Convention Kicks Off, and Authors Eat
My Sunday presentation at the IRA Convention in Chicago was a blast. And how could it not be? Look at these totally glam educators!!!!

Cool Kids, Peep Limo and Conference Check-In
After dining with catoonists in various stages of arrested development . . .
. . . Peepy and I hopped a plane to O'Hare. From there, we were taken to Buffalo Grove for school visits.
We were welcomed to Merdian Middle School in style . . .
(Peeps was especially thrilled with the glorious gift bag created especially for her.)
Many of the students created posters about my books . . .
Here's the cafeteria, before and during my presentation. (I spoke to the 5th grade first, then the 6th grader.)

Visiting Versailles with Cartoon Guys
I'm in Chicago at this very nanosecond. However, right before I left for Chicago, I had dinner with a bunch of dudes in various stages of arrested development. (I mean that as a compliment.) We met at Versailles.
The last time I had been to Versailles, was on a trip to Miami, when Peepy tried to get a book deal with agent Ginger Knowlton . . .
However, this was a completely different Versailles . . . in Los Angeles. We rode on over with Dan Santat . . . . .
And dined with Bob Boyle, creator...

Bright Star(s) and Heading to the Windy City
It seemed like just yesterday we were in Hawaii, having brunch with our SCBWI Hawaii friends, Lynne Wikoff and Sue Cowing. Then waiting at the airport to head back to Los Angeles . . .
When Peepy and I got home, we had a nice surprise waiting for us . . .
Our pals at Highland Oaks Elementary School sent us this awesome signed photo to commemorate our visit!
I travel quite a bit, and have devised an award-winning math formula that calculates time on the road and physics and math and stuff to ...

Peepy in Paradise
Through the magic of time travel, even though this author is home, this blog is still in Oahu. The PEN Women's Writing Conference in Hawaii was fantastic . . .
And that could only mean one thing -- time for a party!!!
The next day, everyone who worked so hard on the conference gathered on the North Shore for a gala celebration. Peepy was there, too. Here are co-conference directors, Nancy Mower (left) and Victoria Gail-White, who was also hosted my stay . . .
OMG, the food and fun was fabulous ....
And that could only mean one thing -- time for a party!!!

PEN Women (and a Peep) Take Over Punahou!!!

What do President Obama, Peepy and the creator of The Munsters and The Mary Tyler Moore Show have in common?
Yes! They all went to the same school!!! (Although a third of that group did not graduate from there.)
The Honolulu PEN Women's Writers Conference took place at the gorgeous Punahou School . . .

YES! Peepy and I are still in Hawaii!!!!
However, when last we blogged, I was hanging out with Craig Ferguson, blathering on Hawaii Public Radio and (almost) Skyping into Scholastic sans clothes . . .

Heading to Hawaii, Books Fairs and Freaking Out
When last we were together, Peepy was starring in her own movie . . .
Now, I know many of you were, um, disturbed by the content of the video. However, you need to know that Ojo is fine now. He got some new Peep friends (at 50% off), and realizes that what happened in the movie was all just a dream.
By the time you read this, I'll be winging my way here . . .
