Louis L’Amour “If You’re Going To Be A Writer”
Bonjonour has so much great writing & life advice, I’d like to repost it all, but then it wouldn’t be my blog, it would be his! So, if you are an aspiring writer, make sure you follow his blog. I think it’s a HE tho I can’t tell you why right now.
A Wiser Version Of You
This is absolutely true. You have to let go of something in order to grab something else. Don’t be afraid to let go!
Good Marriage Advice
I totally agree with this quote & wish the entire planet could see this before they decide to marry someone they think is wrong for them. The first time I got married, I thought he loving me was enough. It wasn’t & I was miserable. Looking back, I’m not even sure that HE loved ME as he never asked what I wanted & selfishly just made me a “ride-along” in HIS life.
I am so grateful those days are over & I am finally with someone who values my opinion more than his own. Because he does. I also value his opinion more than MY own.
True love is amazing!
Never underestimate…
There was a time in my life . . . What am I saying?! Most of my life, no one could make me smile. I was a very serious person who didn’t realize what a wonderful life & family I had. I seldom laughed & almost anything could make me cry.
Then I reconnected with Angelo & I moved back to Chula Vista to marry him. Suddenly, all the people that I was avoiding because they made me feel sad, no longer had the same affect on me. When I would get uncontlably upset, Angelo could calm me down & even make me laugh. Angelo made me believe in the power of laugh & laughter. He also made me remember the power of music. He reminded me that music can lift you up & take you to the places you always wanted to be. Because of him, I was able to write my novel & get it out to the world. Because of him, I am finally able to be happy.
Isn’t life amazing?

Someday, you’ll…
Forgiveness is the key to happiness. Or at least contentedness.
the eye often deceives
This is so true & nowhere is it more evident than in these presidential campaigns. People are willing to hand over the presidency to an egotistical man who has never shown an ounce of concern for anyone else.
Life in this country has turned into a huge game show in which people aren’t even aware how much they are losing in terms of freedom & justice.
People think freedom means having 200 kinds of cereal to choose from. As I told my dad “That’s not freedom; that’s Capitalism!”
Motherhood
Looks like another day of thinking about my mother. Poor child (in the photo), I can’t imagine being a motherless child!
So as I spend time with my dad who is living alone for the first time in his life, we remember Mom with fondness & love. ☺️

Tabula rasa
Another fasciniting poem from Tosha!
Still trying to understand it, but I look forward to reading it a few more times.
