Van Gogh “Ambition”

I totally relate to this quote from Van Gogh. People often misinterpret a person wanting to see their work “out there” as meaning they want to make money. Often that is the furthest from the truth. Often we just want others to feel what we feel. ;-)

Peace, love & humanity to all,

A Writer And His Thoughts, Meaning In Life

This is my ambition, which is founded less on anger than on love, founded more on serenity than on passion. It is true that I am often in the greatest misery, but still there is within me a calm, pure harmony and music. In the poorest huts, in the dirtiest corner, I see drawings and pictures. And with irresistible force my mind is drawn towards these things. Believe me that sometimes I laugh heartily because people suspect me of all kinds of malignity and absurdity, of which not a hair of my head is guilty — I, who am really no one but a friend of nature, of study, of work, and especially of people.

Tears are words that need to be written

Lots of great advice here! I totally relate to all these author quotes, especially the Sylvia Plath one! ;-)

Peace, love & great writing to all,

A Writer And His Thoughts, Meaning In Life

living between pages fairy tales Living between pages of fairy tales.

Tears are words that need to be written, feelings from deep within life’s experience and the pains of inspiration, you look for the  meaningful words  to evoke an emotion in the reader. Writers write from deep within from their life experiences. Your words have to evoke emotion in the reader. No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. You write with feeling. You don’t want to make it feel like writing , you have to make it feel like a story.

There is no magic formula, it takes rewrite, rewrite, and finding the right word to evoke that emotion or image in the reader. There are no short cuts, it takes a lot of work and patience.  A writer is working when looking out the window, and  is by nature a dreamer.

My love for you

Having recently been away from my hubby & soulmate for 10 days, this really hits home. Although we talked every night, we missed each other dearly. I had gone to TN to see how my dad was doing & he helped pay for the trip.

My love for him is unending, just like the universe.

Thank you, Neha, for sharing this lovely poem so I could share it too! ;-)

Peace, joy & unconditional love to all,

Sherrie

My love for you

goes beyond all silver linings

from the darkest storm

it stretches like the wind

to glorious sunlit days

beyond all seasons…

it waves at the universe

with the constant rhythm

of being alive,

of being in love…

My love for you

folds like a gentle prayer

in silent waves

of the vast ocean

that does not question

the emotions

of the heart

rising and falling

like the tides…

My love for you…

is endless hope

with infinite dreams

and peaceful sleeps

of holding you close

in my heart.

Yes

I had this feeling in 2000-2001. I could feel the movement of the earth when no one else could. I heard and saw many amazing things during that time and it gave me the strength to do what I needed to do. ;-)

Peace, love & a closer universe to all,

More truth

Since comments are closed, I will reblog this. Although I do find this to be true, I was never under the threat myself. Although I did have a crazy BF once who was afraid I was going to Hell, I was never worried because I knew there was something out there that wasn’t a threat but was complete & total LOVE! ;-)

Peace, joy & unconditional love to all,

Sherrie

Tantalizing Tuesday – Bette Davis, part 1

Wow, I had no idea Bette Davis made all this movies. All I knew of were the ones when she was older . . . and meaner! Didn’t know she wrote books either! ;-) ;-)

Peace, love & great movie watching to all,

What do you think of when someone mentions Bette Davis? The full-of-life poor doomed Judith Traherne with a brain tumor in Dark Victory? Or is it the cheeky Mildred tormenting devoted Philip in Of Human Bondage? Perhaps she is most memorable for you as Baby Jane Hudson. For me, no part was more memorable than her portrayal of Charlotte Vale in Now, Voyager. I am sure that I related to her repression and heavy handed mother. The facts are different but it was a pleasure to look on the screen and see a woman who never flinched, who was determined to fight to get her own life back for herself. That impressed the hell out of me. Because it was Bette Davis on the screen, I believed every bit of it.

Scattered not Sown

I should probably find someone new to Reblog, but her posts are so amazing! And if you want to hear her beautiful voice, listen to her song below. How many can sing without any instruments & sound amazing?! Not many! But Tosha can! ;-)

Everything I Never Told You

She quietly watches as he

buttons his dress shirt.

Briefly, she catches his eye.

He starts to speak to say, “What?”,

but turns away from her instead.

She feels the doors, the windows,

the ceiling of her heart

glazing over with ice.

Every day now, the hardwoods

pop off the floor, slat by slat.

They could redo the flooring

with carpet, or just move

him or her, out.

She’d claim a tree somewhere,

cradled by branches to hold

her where the echo of love’s

disaster resonates

the heat dissipating,

above the treetop as memories

turn the color of ash.

Her heart knowing

everything changes,

everything ends.

The wind honors the

vanishing.

Poets: Leonard Nimoy

This proves why Leonard Nimoy is the favorite of all the stars on Star Trek. He is very real, very human. Even in his role as half human, he was more human than many.

Leonard Nimoy, AKA Spock, you will live in our heats forever! ;-)

Peace, love & poetry for all,

Are You Thrilled

I used to read Leonard Nimoy’s poetry as a teenager, before I ever watched “Star Trek”. I think it came to my attention because his poetry was on a line of greeting cards for a time. I enjoyed it then and I found a reading of a poem of his that I really like. The video is poor, but worth a listen. I included the text.

I Have Walked Alone (Warmed By Love)

I have walked alone

Seeking answers

I have lived alone

Chasing dreams

I have tried

To prove my worth

To worthless judges

I have cried my pain

In silent screams

I have been

Sometimes served

A touch of kindness

I have wandered

In golden fields

Of Grace

I have been

Released by honest

Laughter

I have touched

The Western Wall

Of the Holy place.

I have soared

Alone

Above the cloud heads

I have walked
  The…
