Yep

I totally agree. I would not be the person I am today without the suffering. The fact that I set myself up for my suffering? Well, that’s another story!

I am grateful for it all as it has brought me to this wonderful place in my life that I couldn’t have found any other way. ;-)

Peace, love & a spiritual awakening for all,

let-it-be

I was going through a really difficult time around the autumn of 1968. It was late in the Beatles’ career and we had begun making a new album, a follow-up to the “White Album.” As a group we were starting to have problems. I think I was sensing the Beatles were breaking up, so I was staying up late at night, drinking, doing drugs, clubbing, the way a lot of people were at the time. I was really living and playing hard.

The other guys were all living out in the country with their partners, but I was still a bachelor in London with my own house in St. John’s Wood. And that was kind of at the back of my mind also, that maybe it was about time I found someone, because it was before I got together with Linda.

So, I was exhausted! Some nights I’d go to…

Today a book about war-torn El Salvador and a woman escaping from her own trauma to bring help to the refugees of this dreadful civil conflict.

About the Book

Shelly Dalton Smith goes to war-torn El Salvador to escape from trauma and family secrets but also in the hope of helping the refugees of a brutal civil war.

As she photographs her host family and the people at the refugee center, she learns the many secrets and lies that must be told when one’s country is at war. Shelly falls in love with an American fighting with the guerrillas, forcing her to decide whether to put her own life in danger to help expose the truth of this horrible war.

For Dr Seuss’ birthday

Well, I try to stay away from politics on this blog, but this poem is just irresistible! Of course, Dr. Seuss is not longer among us, but this sounds exactly how his poems sound. It is funny & fun! ;-)

Peace, love & hope for a more intelligent country,

I’d Rather Be Rejected For Being Myself

I never tried to fit in to any crowd, yet was able to speak to almost anyone & have a conversation where we both learned. But I did something much worse for everyone concerned: I tried to be what the male boyfriend, husband, etc. wanted me to be. And they did the same. There is nothing worse than living with or being married to, someone you have nothing in common with.

Fortunately, I am now married to a man who accepts me despite all my imperfections. And I also accept him the way he is. Because of him, I have no regrets, but it sure was a rough road getting here! ;-)

Peace, joy & unconditional love to all,

Sherrie
