Was Jesus born in the Bethlehem located in Galilee?

Every Christmas we write about some of the misconceptions and criticisms pertaining to Christmas. Our purpose is not to glorify error but to arm you with information when you're confronted with these ideas.

You may have never heard of it, but there is a Bethlehem in Galilee situated between Haifa and Nazareth, actually about four miles from Nazareth. Some historians and archaeologists believe this is the town where Jesus was born and not in the Bethlehem south of Jerusalem which is over ...

5 Ways To Grow More Confident In God

For a long time, science has gone in the direction of sort of putting people in their place.

                                                                                                - Author: Elizabeth Kolbert

This was true for Christians holding to a literal view of creation and biblical history. Science may not have started out to disprove God, but that was a byproduct of many a theory. The reason for this lies in how a scientist views the facts before him.

We all hav...

King David and the Cave of the Treasure

Before David became king over Israel, he was a man on the run.

Saul, the reigning king had been told God was going to remove him from the throne because of his disobedience and casual attitude toward God's word. The prophet Samuel told him, "Rebelling against God or disobeying him because you are proud is just as bad as worshiping idols or asking them for advice. You refused to do what God told you, so God has decided that you can't be king." (1Sa 15:23)

It was great to meet you...

A big thank you to all who stopped by our tent at the Appleumpkin festival in Tecumseh, Michigan. For a small town, that is a big event.

So what is an appleumpkin? Yeah, I had no idea either.  All I know is that it has something to do with a local orchard. Which, by the way, has some tasty caramel apples. And– I don't remember the name of the corn dog trailer, but BEST EVER!

But we did more than eat. We were there to work. Surprising I know.

Congratulations to the winners...

What Courage Looks Like In 2021

Courage is the ability to do the right thing under great pressure, external and internal. Yesterday the civil leaders of Iraq showed us what this looks like.

Erbil is a city in Iraq that is pro American and pro Israel. Shocking, yes, since they are surrounded by the opposite sentiment which violently overwhelms the Middle East. But despite this, these civil leaders voted for Iraq to join the Abraham Accords

The Abraham Accords was a peace agreement Trump began in the Middle Eas...

What A 2700 Year Old Stone Has To Say About Deception

What can a 2700 year old stone used for measuring weights in Israel teach us about deception? A lot it seems.

The stone is not special. It is not shiny smooth like honed marble or sparkly like crystal. It is not full of glowing color like a gemstone. It is a polished red limestone pebble about a half inch in diameter. It is not made to standout. Its purpose is to blend in.

On its surface are two lines, deeply engraved by someone to mark this stone as a two gerah weight, in Englis...

America and Israel's Iron Dome

Christians have debated America's role in endtime events. A recent decision may have ended the debate.

America has played a huge role in endtime events, for good and for bad. We have armed their enemies, helped them become a strong power in the Middle East, recognized as a leader among foreign nations and now we are back to emboldening their enemies. We are at best their schizophrenic friend as far as our political parties go.

Perhaps, and I pray it isn't, time for the U.S. to abandon ...

Laws, Lawlessness and Leviticus

It is probably safe to say Leviticus is not many people's favorite book of the Bible. Deuteronomy may not rate much higher than Leviticus.

The reason is clear. It is a complicated listing of detailed laws, dos and do nots and instructions for worship for an ancient people of an ancient time pre-Jesus. We have lost the historical context and don't take the time to understand the significance of all that info to us in our day.

Some may not even realize most of our moral standards c...

Why Christianity Needs Its Davids

In Yahweh do I take refuge. How can you say to my soul, "Flee as a bird to your mountain!"  For, behold, the wicked bend their bows. They set their arrows on the strings, That they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart. If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do? Psalm 11:1-3

David wrote these words. Some think in response to Saul killing the priests living in Nob, a city located in the territory of the tribe of Benjamin near Jerusalem. But David had many occ...
