Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm sharing some fall pictures with you even though they were taken over a month ago. They seem more appropriate for a Thanksgiving post than the snow outside...

On Thursday many in the U.S. will be gathering with friends and family in an attitude of gratefulness. I will be one of them. Lists will be read. Prayers will be said. Here are some things I'm thankful for.

I am so thankful for all Jesus has done for me. I know you are too. All of eternity will be filled with our thank yous ...

Of Blood Moons and Elections: Did God Just Vote?

Many are predicting a red wave in the US elections this year. Some believe it to be an historic election, reminiscent of 2010 when voters were unhappy with new policies introduced by Democrats and scandals in the news.

David Barton thinks 2022 may be more of a tsunami than a wave. The Hill agrees. Whatever the numbers, Josh Phillip, Senior Investigative Reporter at Epoch Times, says the trend is definitely looking red.The New York TimesNBC News  and USA Today  agree.

But early Tuesday ...

Recent Study Discovers Central Asia Was Important Area for Early Humans: Science Late To The Party Again

A recent study led by Dr. Emma Finestone found Central Asia to be a place where the earliest people began to spread throughout the earth. Central Asia is the region where the modern "stan" countries are located east of the Caspian Sea and those to the west of it, modern day Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The report refers to the migration of these people as "hominin dispersals" and maintains that they traveled to Central Asia from Africa. This is the Out of Africa theory that is not as con...

What was living in Judah like in the 4th century BC?

What was living in Judah like in the 4th century BC?

Perhaps a little strange if you were a follower of God...

A town in the Judean foothills, Maresha, listed as Mareshah in Joshua 15:42-44, had been emptied of Jews by Nebuchadnezzar in the 6th century. People from neighboring Edom moved in. They stayed during the Persian Empire and the area was called Idumea. Retired Greek soldiers joined them after Alexander the Great had swept through. Maresha became a diverse mix of Greek, Edom...

Has A New Method Been Discovered To Finally Read 5,000 Year Old Linear Elamite?

In our book From Abram To Abraham we talk about the Elamite culture and its 5,000 year old Proto-Elamite language. This ancient language is as old –or older– than Sumerian. Much of the earliest Elamite writings had not been translated because no one knew how to read either Proto or Linear Elamite. Perhaps that has changed.

Chedorlaomer was an Elamite king identified in Genesis 14.  Elamite kings are also named on the Sumerian King List. Their capital was Susa located about 160 miles east of...

Is There Any Proof of Nebuchadnezzar's Mental Illness?

Beside Babylon's wall and gate, Daniel was also familiar with Nebuchadnezzar's palace. According to Nebuchadnezzar, he built his palace over his father's. He strengthened the foundation and rebuilt the walls with burnt brick. The roof was cedar and he covered the cedar doors with copper. Bronze, silver, gold and precious stones decked out the rest of the structure. It must have been quite a sight.

Nebuchadnezzar was proud of his buildings. He said in Daniel 4:30, "Is not this great Babylon, ...

Spirit of Faith Workbook

It's here! So thrilled to get this out and planning more workbooks to follow.

The thirty-six lessons in this book help children understand what is called the spirit of faith in 2Corinthians 4:13.

"We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak."

You can read more about it here

Why Daniel's Lions Are A Reminder There's More To The Troubles We Face

Last month we learned the Prophet Jeremiah endured rough treatment by his own countrymen. Daniel was a young man when Jeremiah was imprisoned for prophesying the fall of Jerusalem. Daniel was among the first group of captives taken to Babylon.

Babylonian officials took notice of him and chose him to be educated and trained to serve in the court of Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel must have been familiar with the Ishtar Gate and the Processional Way. He never mentions them, but they were magnificent co...

Jerusalem Curse Stone

Cursing politicians isn't new. In 2010, a 3,500 year old curse stone was discovered in Jerusalem. The governor was the target.

Recently the stone was translated by Dr. Gershon Galil and confirmed to be a curse stone. "Cursed you shall surely die" is the repeated theme. Politics in the ancient world wasn't for wimps, and they didn't mess around. It is thought that the curse was written by priests at odds with the leadership.

What is significant is it is written in an early Semitic script....

Jeremiah and the Border Marker of Pharaoh Hophra

In June 2021 a farmer working in his field near Ismailia, Egypt discovered a sandstone stela carved with ancient writing. It was a border marker of Pharaoh Wahibre also known as Pharaoh Hophra to Jeremiah and Ezekiel.

Not much is known about Hophra from archaeology. Greek historians speak of him, and he is one of only six pharaohs mentioned in the Old Testament. Ismalia is in the same region as Tahpanhes, the city where Jeremiah was when he prophesied about Hophra.

"What was Jeremiah doi...
