Balaam and Balak: The Dair Alla Inscription

The news is full of criticisms against Israel and some well-founded rumors of important agencies working against them. It seems they've never read God's promise to Abraham in Genesis 12:3. "I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you." Or at least they don't believe it. Well, neither did Balaam and he probably regretted it.

Balaam is called an Old Testament prophet, but he wasn't a prophet like you may be thinking as we will see. His story is intertwined with a king w...

The Power of Speaking God's Word: Hyrcania

Do you speak the word of God over yourself? Do you rephrase its prayers so they are personal to you?

Some believers are reluctant to speak God's word over themselves, thinking the promises of God were specific to the time they were written. Or, they think it makes no difference because God will answer or He won't. It is totally up to Him.

But those thoughts aren't biblical, and that person has no problem allowing their circumstances to speak to them and over them. They have more faith in...

Pray for Israel

We support Israel as God's covenant people. Please take a moment to pray for Israel. Pray for the grieving. Pray for the hostages and share this post with your friends who love Israel too. Pray for LIGHT to come to the Palestinian people and that a revelation of Jesus frees them from Hamas.

What Is Rosh Hashanah and Why It Matters To You

Rosh Hashanah is the Festival for the Jewish New Year. It is the first day of Israel's civil calendar.  Rosh Hashanah means the head of the year. But it is not the new year feast day God appointed in the Bible for them to celebrate. That day is in the spring. In the month of Nisan at Passover.

Rosh Hashanah falls in the seventh month. And God didn't call the feast day they are to keep in the seventh month the head of the year. He called it Yom Teruah which means "day of blowing the trumpet"....

Lachish: The City That Always Thought It Could

Lachish is dated to about 3200BC. Settlement at Lachish spanned the Canaanite era into the Babylonian period. It is called Tell ed-Duweir, or  Tel Lachish today, and it is owned by the Israel Antiquities Authority. It is situated in the hills of Judea 25 miles southwest of Jesrusalem. The meaning of the word Lachish is uncertain but may mean something like invincible. Only, it never was.

Lachish is mentioned in the Armana letters. It is mentioned in Egyptian and Assyrian chronicles, and it i...

Lachish: King Sennacherib and Hezekiah

One biblical event archaeology has certainly confirmed is the siege of Lachish (Lah HEESH). Ancient Lachish was an important city during the time of King Hezekiah. Beautiful date palms and vineyards surrounded its walls, walls that would prove no hindrance to the Assyrian King Sennacherib.

Lachish is not a popular site for tourists to visit in Israel, but it was the second most important city in the Kingdom of Judah next to Jerusalem. It was even bigger than Jerusalem then. It was situated i...
