Writing Exercise

Write a scene in which Evil Editor is having a conversation with someone else. Could be you, could be John Grisham, could be Satan. Sounds easy, but maybe not, because I forgot to mention that no word may be used more than once.

200 - 300 words.

Deadline: Sunday, 10 AM eastern.[image error]

"So what have ye then? What manner of swabs be ye that come to hear the words which will spare ye from the tempest to com...

New Beginning 750

Captain Sevante was studying the makeshift game board when her adversary harped: "Check- mate!"

He laughed with victorious abandon. "Take that, cap'n!" Alden said. He cracked his knuckles in a satisfied manner and then hooked his hands behind his head. It was early afternoon and the sloop's sails were filled with a balmy breeze that gave the crew ample time to dally.

Idalia de Sevante scowled. "Aw, Drega's mercy! I hate this game." She hunched over the game board and pushed back a lock of blood...

Guess the Plot

The Drifter

1. You know the story about the lonely drifter, who travels the world helping people before wandering off again and how he's always an angel in disguise? Well, this book isn't about that guy.

2. He rides into town on his Harley, looking for a cold beer and a heart to break. Jennifer Lee knows he's the wrong kind of man for her, but she has to have him, mostly because her father would hate him. He is . . . The Drifter.

3. After Romeo hits Pip with his motorcycle, the...
