No Repeated Words Challenge 4

"Hey! Does anybody work here?" Evil Editor yelled, obviously approaching his last nerve.

"I know what ya mean," chuckled an inebriated man sitting two stools over. Hand extended, the drunk initiated introductions. "Vincent McGreen."

E.E. hesitated, then decided he'd appease best he could. "Ed." No handshake followed.

"Sounds good, Eddy." Gulp, click went another shot. Five more were ready and waiting. "My ex owns th' bar. Drinks're great. Service sucks, but s'prolly personal."

No Repeated Words Challenge 2

"I'm Evil." Arms extends, hands shake, sparks fly energetically between the creatures who terrorized planet Earth.

"Worse. The worst." Long black uneven, thickened fingernail points at his smoldering heart, misunderstanding.

A left mutton chop pull is answered with pointed ears blasting out fire.

"Charlie Bilgewater. Also known as Bilgy. Middle initial Q. Admittedly I'm no expert on literature, sir, but I've got experience in many diverse fields, including contract law, alternative medicine, yellow journalism, managing bakeries . . . "

"Mmm, there's nothing more enticing tha...

Book Chat Schedule

If you've read or plan to read Halting State, and would like to attend the book chat, let me know what's a convenient day and time. Normally we go for late in the month. Monday the 31st is Memorial Day, which means many Americans won't be at work, but it also means they might have plans, possibly for the whole weekend or week. We can go for early June or Thursday the 27th if Friday through Monday are inconvenient.

New Beginning 751

Memories - one of the few things no one can take from you. Sometimes you wish someone would. And yet, the best way to get over memories is to acquire more memories.

Stepping from these pages, subtlety still intact...or not...

Often it's not the story but who you were, how you were, during it - and we can all become someone else quicker than we'd like to admit. Some persona last months, some last hours. A song heard while grocery shopping ...
