Cheesecake-Stuffed Snickerdoodles
Friends I’ve landed most certainly on my favorite snickerdoodle recipe! These are fancy pants doods! We’re stuffing them with cheesecake and not making a single apology about it. Essentially the very best sugar cookie is made even better with a surprise filling.
There are few things I love more than the thick cream cheese portion of store-bought coffee cake (or store-bought King Cakes during Mardi Gras!). Where the dough meets the cream cheese – everything is soft, cheesy, and right with the world.

Let It Be Sunday, 350!
Hello friends and happy Sunday!
This weekend I found myself at Trader Joe’s doing what I usually do: finding a corner in the less crowded wine section to park my cart, roaming the aisles, filling my arms, and taking them back to said strategically placed cart. It’s a fetch-and-gather approach that I just invented a name for right now. While I’m on these fetch and gather missions I can’t help but be curious (ok, sometimes nosy) about what other people put in their carts.

Mom’s Famous Peanut Butter Balls
Friends, I come to you today with news you can use. Christmas is basically tomorrow and that’s an absolute brain bender seeing as yesterday was April. BUT, here we are upon Christmas. I’ll tell ya – the best thing about this time of year at the Wilson house is Mom’s Famous Peanut Butter Balls. I use the word “famous” rather liberally but if you know my mom you have probably enjoyed her peanut butter balls several times over the last five decades.

Let It Be Sunday, 349!
Friends hello – I hope it was a Happy Thanksgiving and a relaxing long weekend.
My parents and I are in Houston celebrating the weekend with Will and his parents. There’s coffee and football (and I honestly still couldn’t tell you what 3rd and 14 is) we’ve got a 1000 piece puzzle on the table and someone cheers each time we connect a single piece. We’ve all decided that 500 pieces puzzles are our max these days.

Lower Sodium Mac and Cheese with Roasted Tomatoes
Hi, friends! It’s the big week! It’s the Superbowl of food holidays! Do you have your stretchy pants on? This is not a drill.
By now, so so many of you have the latest issue of Joy the Baker Magazine and it is my great hope that you have the mac and cheese page earmarked for Thanksgiving dinner. This is our family mac and cheese I’ve adapted from my dad.

Classic French Silk Pie
One last offering for your Thanksgiving dessert table and it has nothing to do with pumpkin or sweet potato. Last week I wanted to make a birthday dessert for my friend Trevor. If you follow along here intently, you know Trevor help me shoot Bakehouse classes and is generally a wonderful friend. Since he’s always watching me bake, we talk a lot about his favorite nostalgic desserts and whether or not I can recreate them.

Let It Be Sunday, 348!
Hello friends! Welcome to your Sunday! I went on a procrastibaking journey this Friday knowing full well I’d only play myself and stay up late getting the week’s work done. WORTH IT. I made a version of Claire Saffitz’s Glazed Apple Tart with store-bought puff pastry and rum instead of sherry. It’s the sort of recipe you can read through and then make up your own rules about. I’ll leave my version of the recipe here for you though I wholly suggest you read it through once and do your own thing.

6 of My Best Pie Ideas for Thanksgiving
Friends, hello and welcome to the weekend before the Food Superbowl! I’m here with pie ideas for Thanksgiving, full disclosure, as a way of putting off my trip to the grocery store. I know it must be done, but my goodness I haven’t yet mustered the mental fortitude.
This weekend’s post-grocery tasks include making a big pot of Chicken and Sausage Gumbo (God bless), and a triple batch of all-butter pie crust.
