Monday Morning
This will be a quick one, as I must go out the door and get things accomplished today. Tuesdays are all about productivity, you know?
Nadia was out of bed before I was this morning. An Oceanographer is coming to the school. They get to see starfish and sea urchins and other sea critters. She is very excited.
Ashley the cat has discovered that curtains can be climbed. I hope he gets bored of this soon.
The daisies are starting to bloom in the garden, and there are buds on the wild rose. The tarr...

Friday Morning
Rise and Shine My Freaky Darlings!
It is going to be a good day today. I can feel it in my feet. The sun is shining and I have classical Indian radio going. The porch door is propped open and the curtains are drawn wide open: it is a day for exuberance, or failing that, remarkably good humor.
Harmony has gone off to school in a pair of open toed denim wedge heels. I'm caught between the bemused certainty that she is going to break her neck and a fresh shot of astonishment that accompanies every...

Thursday Morning
It was a crazy evening! The wind blew the roof off of the fire chief's house. Tim is over there today with a bunch of people to help them try to get things fixed. What a terrifying thing to have happen - I can't even imagine.
On a much smaller scale, we have Nietzsche Zucchini. Of the seven that made it into the ground, four have survived the wind, two were rent asunder, and one tetters, poised on mortality's edge. Will it survive? Gardening can be like a soap opera. You always want to see wha...

Wednesday Morning
Rise and shine, my freaky darlings! How the hell are you this fine and fabulous morning? You should have seen the sky this morning, angry red and pulsing in the sky, low behind the trees. If I were a sailor, I would be terrified.
Of course, if I were a sailor, I'd likely be made of sterner stuff than is currently the case.
Today belongs to the long overdue ghost book. That's my main goal for the day. The weather seems like it's likely to cooperate: storms are forecast both early and late, so ...

On Tuesday, We Are Productive
Today, I am trying something new. I am abandoning my to-do lists in favor of a 'to-DONE!' list. There might be real value in focusing my attention on what I've accomplished on a daily basis instead of continually tracking how very, very far behind I am. We'll see.
I can start mine with two loads of laundry; one is already hanging in the sun. And I've found a few tentative homes for my poor zucchini plants - they're fixing to set blooms and I haven't even got them in the ground yet. Spring se...

Monday Morning Thinky Thoughts
Let's take as a given - and this is a big assumption, because to do this we have to discount the work of countless theologians, philosophers, psychologists, cognitive scientists, and the like - that our identity is formed by the beliefs we hold about ourselves. We make our choices and decisions within the framework these beliefs provide: they can form a cage to keep us in or a platform we can soar from, but they are always present.
This raises a number of questions. Where do these beliefs co...

maybe you are already aware of this
But I have just discovered Their website has lots of info, videos, and links to other organizations: this may be a good resource for those of you interested in that sort of thing. Not sure how it meshes with my own interest in outsider art, but we'll see.
