Do you Prime?

So I am totally loving my free trial month of Amazon Prime.  You get free two-day shipping on all orders.  That means even if you order a paperback for 6.99, you don't pay shipping and you get it in two days!  How cool is that?  Well, for me, who doesn't even go out anymore if it's below 10 degrees (which is often), sitting back and letting the postman deliver my books is the way to go.  And with the Amazon GCs I got for Xmas, well, I've been in heaven.

So I have made a decision that some of my blog readers will not like.  I love to give books away here, and at my other blogs.  I get a lot of author copies, and it's just a small way for me to say thanks to my readers by having contests to give the books away.

I'm getting back into the groove of writing today.  Already edited a couple chapters.  Yay, me!  The son is outside chipping the ice (ever so carefully) off his Mustang, and the hubby is clattering above my head outside, shoveling the heavy snow off the roof.  Ah, winter.  ;-)

What will you change?

I'm getting to my New Year's resolutions early.  Not that I ever make official resolutions, but I usually go into the new year knowing that I will try to make a specific change or improvement.  Starting about a week ago I swore off buying greeting cards.  First, because those things are so expensive.  Some are almost $5!  You could give a friend a GC to a restaurant or a movie ticket for that price.  And for a piece of paper that'll be looked at once, then tossed?  Not going to waste that mon...

Amazon and Blogger join together

Testing, testing...  Amazon joined with Blogger to make it easier to insert links into blogs.  So I'm just testing it out today.  I like to be able to link book covers to Amazon, not because I expect you to rush over there and buy the book (well, MINE you can buy), but because I figure the back cover copy is at Amazon and any other pertinent details you might like to discover are as well.  And yes, as a means of full disclosure, I do make a small percentage when you do make a purchase at Amaz...

I do love snow.  I just don't love the cold that comes with it.  One of my favorite websites is Kenneth Libbrecht's snowcrystals.com.  He takes amazing pictures of snowflakes.  Even modeled a heroine after him in "A Kiss of Frost" and made her a snowflakeologist.  Check out his site.  You can download a free snowflake wallpaper.  (I have it on my desktop right now.)
