Half vamp, half werewolf?  It works for me.  And that gray streak?  It's his wolf nature showing through.  This guy is the inspiration for my current hero, Rhys Hawkes.  Bonus points if you can tell me what rock band he plays in.  (If I told you the instrument he plays, that would so give it away.)  ;-)

Pretty things

It all started innocently enough.  I just needed to find one good picture online of a man in French clothing circa 1785.  But you know how websurfing goes.  One great site led me to another great site, and over an hour later I was convincing myself this was all research so it was not time wasted.

I think the frock to the left will be worn by my hero at some point in the story, but probably brown.  He likes dark, inconspicuous clothing.  But I am not letting him get by without a little lace.  ;...

This is one of those times I really wish I understood French.  This movie is out in February.  Alexandre Dumas and his writing partner Auguste Maquet.  (If you've read Swordsman's Legacy you know why I'm excited about this one.)  Gerard Depardieu!  Oh, this one looks good.  (I don't know how to make the video smaller, so to view it without the right cut off, go here.)

A change to my release schedule:  Vampire's Tango is now a March release instead of April.  According to Michele's Murphy's Law of Promotion, release schedule changes will only occur after I've printed up bookmarks and promotional material.  Sigh...

Still free!

Yep, you read that first header at the right correctly.  KISS ME DEADLY is once again free for the year 2010.  Last year Harlequin gave it away as part of their 60th anniversary celebration.  This year they're repeating the giveaways at tryharlequin.com.  So if you haven't downloaded this book yet (seriously, you haven't?) go for it!  It's also still available at Amazon and other online electronic book retailers.  I believe some of the other previous titles are also still available, but I als...

Which do you prefer?

So I've been looking into publishing WICKED ANGELS electronically, since I get a good stream of emails asking for it.  It was published briefly (like a few months) in 1998, then it was going to be pubbed by Triskelion (we all know what happened to them).  I've been waiting for a simple means to make it available to interested readers.  And I think I've found it.  Maybe.  We'll see.

But for now I'm just playing around with cover images.  I found a few pics at iStock I like and you can grab the...

Scary vamps are back

I want to see Daybreakers.  Maybe this weekend?  I don't normally like movies with gore.  I suspect there will be some in this movie.  But I love Ethan Hawke.

That said, I sort of don't want to see the movie until I've finished an unsold project I've been working on for over a year.  It's got a different kind of vampire in it than I normally write about.  And the first time I saw the movie poster featuring the humans being harvested it was like—they stole my idea!  But not really.  But maybe. ...

This and that

Okay, I did it. I made the new home page all by myself.  It's far from professional, but I'm pleased that it looks the way I want it to look.  And yes, it uses tables.  Old school, I know.  But that's all I know to use to line things up.  I just hope it works on all browsers.  If you view it and it looks wonky, let me know.

And I'm back from the dead after a two-day dry-sinus headache.  Piercing eye pain, and a tight stretch of pain from forehead, to eye, behind the ear, and down the back of m...
