You Know…

So I'm sitting here contemplating character motivations and consequences. When I walk into a story I have a general idea of what's going to happen. But I'm not always sure how the story is going to evolve from the beginning to the end. Or how exactly things are going to happen. I may even know one or two of the main events within the story, but usually what happens does so organically. Sometimes the characters meander from scene to scene, sometimes they run. I'm just the director.

Right now...

Baffled by Numbers

I got some sales numbers today and they baffle me.  They're not bad – just surprising…  My erotica books (in paperback) are now outselling my non-fiction (which does very well in its own right) and other fiction titles (blowing them out of the water, in fact).  I really was beginning to think people just weren't buying paperbacks anymore. :D

So if you're one of my erotica fans – thank you so much! :)  Of course if you didn't know,  I do write more than just erotica. :) I write fantasy novels and m...

Healthy Recipes???

Those of you who know me know that in the past 8 years I've gained and lost and gained and lost and gained again. Weight – it's something most people end up battling with at some point in their lives. I was the skinny girl who could eat anything I wanted and not gain a pound. Then I turned 30 and something in my body switched (actually it started in my late 20′s). I slowly started packing on the pounds. At one point I was 60 pounds overweight! Right now I'm about 45 pounds overweight. That's ...

Narcissus

Narcissus is, of course, the genus of plants that contains the common daffodil. There's a reason I've called this post Narcissus. I'm considering moving my lovely daffodils to pots for a few seasons while we deconstruct the backyard.  The garden they're in right now is coming out to make room for a new shed. The old shed is being taken out and raised garden beds are being installed around the deck. It's going to look cool when it's finally done. ;)

Okay – Update on goal list:

2000 Words –...

Projects: Organization

I mentioned yesterday on Facebook how I'm one of those writers who constantly has an abundance of projects going at once even though I only have 1-2 main projects per year. This not only keeps me productive, but it means I constantly have different manuscripts in different states of completion. It's also the reason some years I'll only put out 1-2 books, and other years 3-5 come out. No – I'm not really writing all of that in a year's time (even though I easily write hundreds of thousands of ...

Dream A Little Dream

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Here's a picture I took on my camera phone while walking around the lake with my husband a few weeks back. Those are the Rocky Mountains in the background. Enjoy!

Goal Setting

Goals for the week (in order of priority):

Write minimum of  2500 words on OTS #2
Write minimum of 2500 words on TC
Write 1500 words on TCG
Write 1500 words on GW
Write 1000 words on MNE
Work on the Ella project as time allows

I'm almost at my halfway point for my sales goal this month. :) But now that Training Amy has been out for awhile things have slowed like they do.  Most readers are waiting for Curses, Hexes & Crossing to hit Amazon before buying. I'm waiting on the initial proof copy...

Plant Cloning

So I've been seriously considering plant cloning experiments. I read a lot (obviously) and I've got some plans up my sleeve. I have an idea that I'd like to try cloning some mint (because I've heard it's an easy plant to learn cloning on) and then perhaps making hybrids via cloning. I've read how to do it and it doesn't seem like it would be that hard.  I thought I'd try it with tomatoes and see what I came up with. how cool an idea is that? If I crossed one determinate and one indeterminate ...

Thwack-A-Thursday

So I did manage to get the tomatoes, tomatillos and peppers all planted in the aerogarden on Monday. Had some issues re-setting my lights. So I started them at 9am this morning and I'll let them run on their own time.  I took the plunge and ordered a free sample of some plant cloning gel. I'm going to try my hand at cloning something other than my houseplants (which are easy to clone – no gel required).  For sure we're going to pick up the greenhouse this weekend. I don't want them to run...
