Modified Into Darkness Covers
I've already shared these with folks on my Facebook, but I thought I'd show readers, too. The Into Darkness covers have finally been decided on (I hope!) and here are the winners. The first for eBook, the second for the paperbacks. Feel free to share your comments! (This of course means all the covers in the ads you've seen all over the site are slightly wrong).
10 Reasons Taxes Suck
How about a fun Thursday post? This week I had to pay my estimated quarterly taxes. This way Uncle Sam won't throw my ass in the slammer for tax evasion. Pardon the expletives but I don't think one can discuss taxes without them. Oh – and this will undoubtedly piss some people off. If it does – sorry.
So here I give you my 10 Reasons Taxes Suck.
10. Our taxes go to pay lazy fuckers to sit on their asses. I have a friend on FB who is fond of saying, "Work your ass off so someone on welfare...

The Block is Bullshit (and Other News)
I'm convinced the whole writer's block thing is bullshit. Let me tell you why. The only time I've ever been tempted to use that excuse for an alleged "lack of creativity" isn't because I was uninspired. I just wasn't in the right frame of mind for writing, the right mood, and in some cases I was just using it as an excuse for being downright lazy. At some point all writers have to buck-up, sit their asses down in a chair, and force themselves to write. Especially if you want to make a go of w...

Discrimination & Discernment
I actually got this post idea from the esoteric author Sorita d'Este after she asked the question on her FB "How important is discrimination on a magical and spiritual path? And … how often is discrimination ignored because of a feeling that one should be more "accepting" of others?" It's a brilliant question actually. My answer to it will probably piss a few people off, but here goes…
So many people use the word discrimination to suggest unfair treatment, when in fact the actual definition...

LEGION Update
We currently have three "how I came to my path" stories and two poems. Oh – did I mention I decided a few poems would be nice? While I don't want to go overboard on the poetry, if you do have some (preferably on topic of what Satan has meant to you or how Satanism has changed you), I am very open to it. I'm also pleased to announce that two of our authors so far are here in North America and 2 are in Western Europe! So this really is a global project!
Keep the wonderful submissions...
Monday Garden Update
So over the weekend I spent a little time hanging out in the garden, just checking out how the plants were doing. The short answer is they're doing awesome!
I kind of laugh at myself because at the beginning of May when I took the plants out of the Aerogarden and put them in pots, you probably remember me crying about how they weren't going t make it. There was some severe transplant shock (from hydroponic to soil environment) that they all went through, but a very wet May breathed new life...

Traditional vs. Indie
The debate rages on.
Recently some online writing acquaintances were talking about their concern that their indie material might make it so that no one takes them seriously as writers. These are great writers btw. The only reason they're not traditionally published is because the publishing houses can only print so many books and the number of publishable writers out there is greater than the number of publishing slots open.
But I can understand their concern. After all – the problem with the e...

An Erotic Q&A
I actually had a friend ask me recently why I don't write posts about erotica or bdsm on this blog. I guess I just never thought to really blog about it. ::shrug:: So today it's time for a little bdsm and erotica Q&A! If you are square or have no interest in erotica please skip this post. You may learn more about me than you care to.
On to the questions… these are questions I've gotten from readers. Feel free to add your own questions or comments to this post.
SINcerely Megan isn't really...

Reader Reaction
So I read a book a few weeks back that really left me with a strong, negative reaction when I'd finished with it. It was a short story collection called Three by Blades. My initial reaction was to jump onto Amazon and give the book an awful review, calling it depraved, sick, and absolutely revolting. If you know me – you know it's hard to elicit that kind of a reaction from me. However, instead of reviewing the book I left it alone.
Now here I am two weeks later thinking about the story and ...

Random Encounter
Today I feel like telling a little story about how I met one of my favorite authors. While working as a library assistant in the ninth grade (sometime back in the 1980′s), the librarian had a cache of "banned books" that had been snatched from students. These books were randomly kept behind the checkout desk in a little nook. Mrs. V, the librarian, knew they were there and she did nothing to get rid of them, figuring those of us who worked in the library would run off with them anyway (I...
