Structure
I'm feeling like perhaps I should create some structure for this blog. It's so haphazard at the moment that I imagine it could be difficult for readers to follow what they're interested in and skip the stuff they're not. I mean, there are always the options to the left. If you click on one of my author names it will take you to all posts pertinent to that particular pen name. If you click on Magicians Garden, Magick, or Sephira Alchemy – you'll get posts relevant to those things. The same...

Blogging: A Little Something For Everyone
It seems if I'm getting anything done lately with any efficiency, it's blogging. This month I join the FM Writers Blog Tour and I am also blogging once a month over at demonolatry.org. With FM I blog the 25th of each month here on this site (visit the link to see how it works) and I believe I'm scheduled for the 15th of each month over at demonolatry.org.
So if you're into Fiction and you want to become acquainted with around 20 other novelists (at various stages in their writing careers...

Weekend Off
Yeah – I took the three day weekend off. I had a lot to do around the house and I still didn't get done with everything on my list. All work and no play… you know the rest. I actually did take some play time. DH and I enjoyed two evenings around the fire pit, a movie, and some eating out this weekend. But we also worked our little tails off. We switched out a light fixture in front of the house, I planted my patio pots, we finished our new garden shed, I did a lot of watering and plant...

Male vs. Female Perspective
Last night I was reminded how different male and female perspectives can be when reading something. One of my betas on MNE pointed out that the male character seemed a bit castrated and that didn't make sense. But to my female readers, this never occurred to them. Myself included. Though it's an obvious story flaw when it's pointed out. It's good to have that perspective for revision because I probably wouldn't have thought anything of it — but readers would have. Especially male readers.

A Strange Realization
I have always sucked at remembering the names of movie stars, musicians and other celebrities. Hell, I have a hard time remembering names – period. But strangly enough I realized that I seem to remember the names of characters in movies and in books. I began wondering why.
Wondering, for me, isn't always a good thing because it often leads me to realizations about myself that I'm not sure I want to admit or accept. This situation was no different. After some contemplation I realized I...

Opinionated Bitch
That's right. I admit it. The older I get the more politically incorrect and opinionated I become. I probably ought to just keep my opinions to myself, but sometimes it's just so easy to tell people how I really feel. And it feels awesome to get it off my chest.
The downside to this (obviously) is I tend to piss a lot of people off. ::shrug:: It can't be helped. A friend of mine told me that as a writer, for PR, I should really keep my opinions, especially political and social, to myself...

I Get It Now
I am not a feminist. As a matter of fact, I've always seen feminism as being somewhat fanatical. I'm also not a politically correct person. I'm not even a bleeding heart liberal. I'm a realist.
While I don't advocate getting rid of social programs completely, I do believe they should be re-evaluated and modified to be more efficient. I'm for moderation in all things.
One thing I've always been is pro-choice. That doesn't mean I'm pro-death or that I'm a baby killer (I've been accused of...

Say No to Stupid
So over dinner last night DH and I were talking about putting up a website encouraging voters to not vote for dumb politicians (or listen to stupid political pundits). The blog would consist of links to news stories about politicians and pundits who are repeat offenders in the "stupid" department. Just for fun. It would amuse me. And it would probably amuse some American voters as well. Either that or seriously piss them off. ::shrug::
Today it's back to work! I am getting back on track...

Fun Day So Far
Usually my birthday is just another day of the year. It comes and goes and I'm another year older. This year, however, is turning out to be a great deal of fun. Last night we started out by having a drink around the fire pit. I don't generally drink but it was nice to relax. Not to mention I'm really enjoying hanging out in the yard. I don't know why. So I got up around 10:30 or so this morning (that's sleeping in late) and got up, made some coffee, and checked my FB only to discover...
Internet Psychologists
What I find really amusing about this information age is that everyone considers themselves experts about everything by the mere fact that they can google something and come up with an answer. The most interesting of this phenomena being the ability for laymen to diagnose the alleged "mental disorders" of the people they meet over the Internet or who they barely know in real life. In one of my writers groups someone just asked the question "Do you or have you ever known a sociopath (one who l...
