Why I Prefer to Promote What I Love Instead of Bashing What I Hate
Today I read an old blogpost on Slate from 2012 by someone who is tired of people being nice to writers on the internet. Okay, okay – maybe that’s not exactly what I was supposed to take away from thearticle, but it actually *is* what I took away from it. Basically, the author of said article asks the big money question: Have nice readers and nice writerscreated a “chilling effect” on literary criticism?

Making Time to Write #amwriting
Since it’s so hard to FINDtime to write, perhaps it’s time to MAKEtime to write. Let me help you through each of the steps…
The first thing you need is an unrealistic deadline. Or a realistic one if you’re not a masochist.
Next, it helps to realize and acknowledge you’re nowhere near being done. A little panic goes a long way. You don’t have to have a full freak-out here.

Oh crap! That 50,000 word book is due Thursday and I only have 35,000 words!
