Liz Tanner – Badass Magus
Have you met Liz Tanner? She’s not your typical fictional magus. She more socially adept than Harry Dresdon, but not nearly as soft as heroines like Maggie O’Niell or Lily Ivory. No – Liz Tanner consorts with Daemons and Satanists, spirits of every type, and dead things from the other side. For her it’s all in a day’s work. Originally from Arizona, born to your typical white, middle-class working family, that’s where the normalcy stopped. Liz discoveredshe had a penchant for magick as a teena...

Fun Holiday/Winter Reads
Some of my work (and that of a friend) to keep you warm this Holiday season.
First, there’s The Day Hell Froze Over. A delightful holiday tale whereinSatan finds himself up the river Styx without a paddle when, for the first time in history, Hell Freezes Over! This is a humorous Christmas storysure to delight readers young and old alike. Caution – strong language.
Get it for your Kindle or Nook, or in Paperback.
One of my favorite holiday reads is Santa Sandwich by my friend Ella.Over winter bre...

Microsoft Band – A Review
I occasionally like to review new technology and share with folks whatsomeone who isn’t a tech blogger actually thinks about things. I’ve never been much for having a favorite “team”. My tech either works for me or it doesn’t. Also — I don’t get paid to review things.
So here’s the thing — I actually USE my tech to help make me productive. I’m a busy writer/speaker/teacher (who also has a p/t day job in accounting) who is always on the go. I have a busy schedule, a constant stream of emails an...

Making Saturn My Bitch
Have you ever had one of those horrible, awful, terrible days where you just felt like the entire world was out to get you and nothing went right? One of those days that left you in tears or pissed off at the world? One of those days where you threw up your arms and said, “Fuck this. I give up.”
If you’re human, of course you’ve had one of those days. We all have. I had one of those days today courtesy Saturn hanging out in my work sector. (That’s what I’m blaming, dammit!) I won’t go into spe...

Why I Don’t Blog About Magick (But Probably Should)
Someone asked me again today why I don’t blog much about magick. Usually when I’m talking Daemonolatry on this blog or at the .org, I’m talking about the spiritual end of things, or The Great Work. Sometimes I talk technique or my view of a certain thing within magick. Very rarely do I delve into specific techniques or my own magickal work, (i.e. what I’m doing right now). The closest I ever got to really blogging about my own magick regularly was on Andrieh Vitimus’ Magical 30when we did the...

For Newly Contracted/Published Indie & Small Press Authors
I wrote this because I work with a lot of first-time authors and I needed an article to direct them to to help them deal with the extreme excitement (and the expectations) they usually have about their first book.
Over the years I’ve learned a lot about this business. The following has been gathered from my conversations with editors and from 9 years as a publisher and 18 years as an author. Here are 12 important things you need to know about being published and having a contract when you’re j...

The Final Stretch!
Joyous Rite to Eury and Happy Samhain my friends!
It’s time for another update! We’re into the final stretch of 2014 and I have A LOT of exciting things in the works! Including more Daemonolatry goodness and fantastic fiction coming your way! At the beginning of 2015 (or late 2014 if things go as planned)watch for the second in the Castle Sedgebrook series, look for another OTS novella by yule, and a few surprises in between!
I’ll be immersed in writing for the month of November so I can have a...

Finish What You Start (or get out of the business)
I have a really harsh, but honest, word to share today. As the acquisitions editor of DB Publishing, I get a lot of pitches thrown at me. Some of them are great ideas. Because the Daemonolatry community is so small, I will often approve an idea and tell the author/artist that if they get it to me I can write up a contract, assign it to an editor, and it will be published once it goes through the editorial process. The problem is the people who pitch the ideas never seem to be able to deliver....

Sunny Satan Arizona, Wolf & Samuel!
I figured I’d do one post for the two short stories and the novella that also released this month alongside Black Lily. All of these are fun Halloween reads, some more adult than others.
WOLF – Anne O’Connell (Erotic Horror Short Fiction) :A weekend in the country for Jess and David seemed like the perfect getaway for unwinding before moving to Chicago to start their lives anew. It started out okay, but then there was a full moon and the werewolf appeared. It made its intentions well-known. Wi...

I write a lot of horror, paranormal, and thrillers by virtue of my nature. I have also written my fair share on the topic of necromancy.
