DROOGIE OTIS (MADLIB + YOUR OLD DROOG) DROPS THE EDGE FT. KILLER MIKE
DROOGIE OTIS DROPS THE EDGE FT. KILLER MIKE

Droogie Otis, the duo of legendary musician and producer Madlib and acclaimed rapper Your Old Droog, has dropped a new track. “The Edge” ft. Killer Mike is a sparring match between two elite lyricists on a beat by one of the greatest producers ever, laced with razor-sharp wordplay, buoyed by a jazz-infused beat, and featuring a Droog guitar solo. This song holds personal significance as it was among the first beats Madlib sent to any artist after the destruction and loss he experienced in the 2025 LA wildfires, marking a moment of creative resurgence. Droog’s verse was added in just 20 minutes, delivering confident bars that reflect both hard-earned victories and battles overcome. Droogie says of the collaboration, “The Edge is one of those songs I dreamed of making. It feels elevated. It feels like a suit-and-tie affair. It feels like an award show. It’s great to share that figurative stage with Killer Mike.” This is the third release from Droogie Otis’ forthcoming project, arriving in October, following “Everything Designer” ft. Boldy James and “REEKYOD” ft. Black Thought. More details on the project coming soon.

SUDAN ARCHIVES IS “MS. PAC MAN” -
THE BPM OUT OCTOBER 17 ON STONES THROW
ON TOUR THIS AUTUMN IN UK & EUROPE

Sudan Archives’ third album THE BPM is out October 17th via Stones Throw Records. Today, she releases freewheeling track “MS. PAC MAN” along with a music video.
“MS. PAC MAN” embodies THE BPM’s raucous spirit and freeform sense of expression. A family affair, the album was created in Los Angeles, Chicago and Detroit, with Sudan working with a close circle of people she knows intimately and taking up the role of executive producer.
Despite the album’s party-starting energy, much of THE BPM tackles serious subjects, from mental illness to self-love and heartbreak, but “MS. PAC MAN is pure profanity and irreverence. Sudan says, “My cousin Taylor was like, all you write about is love, sometimes I want to be toxic – I want to hear stupid shit. Eric, her husband, was playing this beat, and Taylor was like ‘PUT IT IN MY MOUTH’ and I was like, oh God, that’s so funny – ‘AND MY BANK ACCOUNT!’”
On THE BPM, Sudan Archives embodies the idea that following your own muse is the surest route to artistic and personal fulfillment. If her last two albums looked to the past – she was both goddess and muse on 2019’s Athena, and wrote a punky coming-of-age tale for 2022’s Natural Brown Prom Queen – THE BPM imagines a dazzling, chrome-plated future in which we’re all tapped into our own sense of rhythm. As she sings on the album’s title track and thesis: “The BPM is the power.”
The album also introduces a more clarified Sudan Archives – a writer, producer and performer moving with grace and confidence through her most fun record yet. “This album just feels really homemade,” she says. “It felt really wholesome to be able to have fun and use my family members’ lyrics and work together. We used to write songs together all the time when we were younger, we used to praise dance together in church…so it was really cute to be able to do this now.”
Previously released tracks from THE BPM include “DEAD”, called a “shape-shifting, maximalist, ultimately unstoppable track” by the New York Times and used by Chanel in their Fall/Winter 2025 Haute Couture show at Paris Fashion Week; “MY TYPE”, “an especially clever and funny banger” according to The Needle Drop; and “YEA YEA YEA”, described by Paste as “impossibly dramatic and divine… a fucking bop.”
Sudan Archives plays select shows in the US before heading out on tour in the UK & Europe. See below for all dates and buy tickets here.

“That was one of the coolest things,” says My Morning Jacket singer-guitarist-songwriter Jim James, “that Carl could play pedal steel. We’d never had that before.”

To further commemorate the 20th anniversary of Z, My Morning Jacket have slated a number of very special shows that will see them performing the landmark collection in its entirety. The Z – 20th Anniversary shows will take place as part of previously announced dates on the upcoming second leg of their MY MORNING JACKET “is” ON TOUR, including Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre (August 15), Los Angeles, CA’s Hollywood Palladium (August 19), Brooklyn, NY’s Brooklyn Paramount (October 16), Chicago, IL’s The Salt Shed (October 26), and Atlanta, GA’s Fox Theatre (November 1). Tickets for all five Z – 20th Anniversary shows are on sale now. For complete details, please see www.mymorningjacket.com/tour.
“October 4 is the 20th anniversary of our album Z. It’s pretty wild to think about that,” says James. “To celebrate two decades of it being out in the ether, we’re excited to be turning five of our shows into special Z anniversary shows, where we’ll play that album – and some other songs, don’t worry – front to back.”
Named by Rolling Stone among “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time,” Z proved an immediate milestone for My Morning Jacket upon its October 4, 2005, release, earning worldwide critical applause for its ambitious fusion of sonic approaches, musical styles, and expressive songcraft. Co-produced with legendary British producer John Leckie – known for his work with XTC, The Stone Roses, and Radiohead, among many others – Z marked the band’s fourth studio album and first to feature its current, enduring lineup of James, keyboard player Bo Koster, guitarist Carl Broemel, bassist Tom Blankenship, and drummer Patrick Hallahan. From the radiant “Wordless Chorus” and big-riff crunch of “Gideon” to the astral-funk spinout, “Off the Record,” and improvisational thunder of “Dondante,” the album proved My Morning Jacket’s breakthrough, employing such surprising influences as dub, reggae, and electronica to create an awe-inspiring collection that wasn’t simply rock ‘n’ roll, yet in James’ words, “moved you like rock ‘n’ roll.”
“Recorded outside My Morning Jacket’s Louisville comfort zone, at a studio in upstate New York, Z was the debut of a brand new band in ten songs of intensely personal sharing,” writes veteran rock journalist David Fricke in the exclusive Z 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition liner notes, “illuminated with jubilant studio risk, rhythms expressly made for dancing and hooks that would not quit.”
2025 has seen My Morning Jacket continuing on its ever-evolving creative journey with their 10th studio album and first full-length new collection in more than three years,, is, available everywhere now via ATO Records. Produced by 3x GRAMMY® Award-winner Brendan O’Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam), the album “is” sees the Louisville, KY-bred five-piece once again expanding the limits of their sound and elevating their artistry to unprecedented heights. Songs like the ravishing lead single, “Time Waited,” the larger-than-life anthem “Half A Lifetime,” and the psychedelically propulsive “Squid Ink” represent some of the most masterfully realized work yet from a band fully committed to their belief in music as a conduit for revelation of all kinds.
My Morning Jacket have spent much of the past year marking the arrival of is with MY MORNING JACKET “is” ON TOUR, a momentous US headline tour set to resume August 5 at Bend, OR’s Hayden Homes Amphitheater and then continue through an August 22 show at Berkeley, CA’s famed Greek Theatre. WELCOME TO THE TUDOR GATE
JAMES CHAPMAN SHARES LONG LOST SOUNDTRACK TO A HORROR FILM
OUT 10/31 VIA MUTE

Today Maps has announced details of a new release, his long-lost soundtrack, Welcome To The Tudor Gate, out on Mute on October 31, 2025.
Welcome To The Tudor Gate launches today with an ominous scene setter, “Chapter One,” which invites us into this unusual album, recorded back in 2014 and lost until now.
Watch the video for “Chapter One” HERE.
The album is James Chapman’s soundtrack to a half-remembered film, watched late into the night and forgotten for years until nebulous stills and scenes came back into his mind, so, to fill in the gaps, he decided to create its soundtrack.
He explains, “Inspired by a film that I was never able to trace, I set out to create a mysterious, strange and uneasy soundtrack, with a nod to the fantastical. I imagined a protagonist venturing into a foreboding land of immense forests, filled with mysterious beings - where magic is real and witchcraft is feared.”
The album is a 40-minute piece, separated into “chapters.” It flows together with no gaps, following the film’s hero throughout their journey. “Chapter One” depicts the ominous start to the journey, which will eventually end with a triumphant return, before disappearing into the night.
He goes on to expand, “The 'Tudor Gate' of the title was originally envisaged to be a 'community' or 'cult', influenced by films like Blood On Satan's Claw and The Wicker Man. The music itself is influenced by ‘60s and ‘70s horror soundtracks to films by Dario Argento and John Carpenter but also to writers like H.P Lovecraft and the world of 'weird fiction’.”
Welcome To The Tudor Gate - we hope that you will never leave…
Welcome To The Tudor Gate is out on Mute on Halloween, October 31, 2025. Pre-save HERE.

FearDorian and osquinn Collaborate on New Album, Listen To the First Single "Bags" out now
FEARDORIAN AND OSQUINN ANNOUNCE DEBUT COLLABORATION ALBUM
BEFORE YOU PRESS PLAY IS OUT 10/3
LISTEN TO THE FIRST SINGLE "BAGS" HERE

Atlanta’s FearDorian (He/Him) and Baltimore’s osquinn (She/Her) have proven themselves as two of the underground’s most innovative producer/artist hybrids this decade. After years of one-off collabs and teases, these longtime friends are officially teaming-up for their upcoming album, Before You Press Play, out October 3rd via 3500.
Today, they share their first offering, “Bags”, a slow burning cut that showcases their undeniable chemistry. The duo tag teams the track, delivering bars in their distinct styles, flowing atop the expertly crafted production, airing grievances and ambitions while reflecting on what drives them. Providing a glimpse into the unique genre-defying world these sonic architects are building together.
A new chapter unfolds as two of the underground’s most-forward thinking artists prepare to unveil their most personal body of work yet–a testament to the mutual trust and creative bond they’ve built online and off. FearDorian and osquinn first met as teenagers, rising producers raised on Soundcloud, message boards, Discord’s, and Atlanta’s evolving music scene. Their shared obsession with music from around the world is evident in their expansive sonic palettes and clever, sample-heavy productions–rooted in deep knowledge and unfiltered curiosity.
Before You Press Play, finds osquinn and Dorian combining their diverse skill sets to develop a bold and confident record with equal parts beauty and madness. Rejecting trends and subverting expectations, the album pushes the underground’s sound forward with fearless experimentation. Born from late-night recording sessions, tour stops, and years of shared experience, it’s an arresting, introspective record shaped by lived reality and deep creative trust.
An early pioneer of the digicore era that birthed artists like Jane Remover, glaive, Brakence, Glitch Gum, etc., quinn first made waves on SoundCloud with hyperpop-adjacent chaos–producing, singing, and rapping her way into cult status. Early tracks like the dreamy, existential crisis “I don’t want that many friends in the first place” (80M+ Streams), the introverted rhythmic confessional “ok im cool” (23M+Streams), and the generation-defining “bad idea” helped establish her as one of the scene’s most dynamic voices. Over time, she’s carved out a lane of her own, pushing boundaries through projects like her debut album Drive-By Lullabies (2021), quinn (2022), stars fell on trench (2025), and most recently lowlife (2025). Her work consistently delivers genre-defying productions that blend heart with high-concept experimentation consisting of electronic oddities, jazz flourishes, and confessional lyricism.
FearDorian has quickly become a go to producer for the underground, helping craft the sonic worlds of Surf Gang, xaviersobased, NolanBeRollin, Polo Perks, RiTchie and BabyxSosa. But in 2024, he fully stepped into his own as a solo artist with his self-titled debut, collaborative tape A Dog’s Chance (with Polo Perks, AyooLii) and his 2025 breakouts Leaving Home and Out The Past With A Window –coming-of-age records highlighting his sharp songwriting and cinematic production, capturing the weird in-between of growing up online while trying to make real life count. Songs like the disaffected groove of “I.V.” and spacey flow fest with quinn on “Las Vegas” showed off his heavy-hitting bars and ability to ride on esoteric beats whereas tracks like “Gotta Be” and “Pray 4 the People” showcase his post-genre sound and DIY ethos (recorded in his Mom’s car), as they mix blown-out low end production with diaristic raps about pressure, purpose, and survival.
Championed by Pitchfork, NoBells, The Fader, Business Insider, The New York Times, and more, both artists have carved singular paths through the underground. Now, together as a chosen family, Dorian and quinn feel like kindred spirits, conjuring a world of bass-heavy ambiance, distorted melodies, warped samples, and lyrical vulnerability. Before You Press Play is a self-assured body of work that doesn’t chase trends, it sets them.

Oakland post-punk rockers Street Eaters will release their brand new studio album Opaque on September 5 via Dirt Cult Records – seven tracks that thrum with both rage and redemption. Since their last album in 2017, not only did they weather a global pandemic along with the rest of us, frontwoman Megan March also had a child. While becoming a mother was, as she puts it, “an incredible joy and opportunity to rewire emotional pathways and deep wounds,” childbirth was both a traumatizing and transformational experience. Ironically born on the Fourth of July, her baby immediately entered a world steeped in bureaucracy, as the hospital was so understaffed that Megan was neglected until the last moment, forced to endure an emergency C-section.
New single “Spectres” is a haunting incantation whose doomy atmosphere belies its sweet core. Reflecting on healthy parenthood, Megan processes her past while striving to imbue love and caring direction for her son while also understanding that she has to empower him to be his own person. Her own mother was violently homophobic and eventually ejected Megan and her teenage sister — both queer — from their home. “I’m working to create a much better emotional landscape for my son to grow in — to find both understanding and healing from the breakage of cycles of abuse and isolation,” she says.
Watch / Share: “Spectres” video
On Opaque co-founders Megan March (drummer/vocalist) and John No (bass/vocals) are joined by guitarist Joan Toledo since 2019, a refugee from transphobic family and government in Florida, former editor of Maximum Rocknroll Magazine and radical union organizer at City Lights Books in San Francisco. The new collection attempts to stitch up the bloody wounds of their past — a meditation on birth and death, excavated trauma, and trying to find steadfast kin in a world that’s becoming more and more splintered and cruel. It is almost like a body in the process of healing: messy, broken, beautiful, and nevertheless alive.
“Opaque is a record that gets deep into the stark and beautiful reality of growth and transition from trauma and loss,” says March. “What does it mean to wake up one day and realize you are living the way you have always demanded to live — yet with all those jagged piles of emotional, physical, and social/political baggage still slicing through the veil?” Still, the album isn’t just confrontational — it’s complicated. A grasping toward identity, understanding, a place in the world in the process of being curated. “It’s a transition into finding peace with the world — a resonant connection with community and chosen family, getting beyond a lot of the pain and hurt,” No says. “We're trying to suture up wounds at this point and create something that’s healthy.”
The band have toured extensively with Screaming Females and Jawbreaker among others, and now fans will have more chances to experience their fierce live show with a slew of dates that kicks off later this month!

(August 12, 2025) - Militarie Gun announce their anticipated new album God Save The Gun due October 17th via Loma Vista Recordings. Alongside the album announcement Militarie Gun share the lead single “B A D I D E A,” which aired on Apple Music’s New Music Daily Radio with Zane Lowe this morning where vocalist and primary songwriter Ian Shelton joined Lowe on air to speak about the new song. “B A D I D E A” also arrives with a music video directed by Shelton. Additionally, Shelton recently sat with Rolling Stone to discuss the meaning behind God Save The Gun, how the album came to be, and more. Read the piece HERE.
Speaking about “B A D I D E A” and the music video, Shelton shares, “I wanted to make a video that was a celebration of vices, a new iteration of yourself looking back at a moment you made a mistake while never truly reflecting. This was the most technically challenging video we’ve ever done and it only fits a song spelling out the words ‘bad idea.’”
God Save The Gun is a very human document of being at your worst when you should be on top of the world – an absurdist guide to the intersection of self-destruction and self-belief. "I’m well aware that being this vulnerable turns my personal trauma into a marketing hook for this album,” Shelton says. “But I’m fine with it, if not provoking it. Over the past couple years, as I spoke about addiction from the perspective of someone affected by it, I became the one struggling with it. There’s a farcical logic to entering a situation, fully knowing the consequences, and doing it anyway – but that’s where my head was when I started leaning on drinking.” Militarie Gun’s 2023 debut album, Life Under The Gun was centered around lifelong cycles of hurt, with the singer looking back at growing up with family members struggling with addiction, and while God Save The Gun is still tethered to that history, this time, he’s not the witness—he’s the protagonist. It wasn’t until the band was scheduled to enter the studio in early 2025 that Shelton realized he was the one who needed to hear God Save The Gun’s message.
Despite all of the inner turmoil leading to God Save The Gun, Shelton and his bandmates – guitarists William Acuña and Kevin Kiley, bassist Waylon Trim, and drummer David Stalsworth – more than rose to the challenge of following up Militarie Gun’s acclaimed debut. Stalsworth, Trim, and Kiley all joined during Life Under The Gun’s extensive touring cycle after a series of member shakeups that would hobble most bands, but only made Militarie Gun stronger.
Along with the honed in line up, God Save The Gun was created with a village of new and old collaborators. Shelton continued his creative relationship with songsmith Phillip Odom, co-wrote with longtime conspirator and frequent harmonizer James Goodson of Dazy, and newly tapped Nick Panella of MSPAINT, among others. Militarie Gun also worked with producer / engineer Riley MacIntyre (Adele, Arlo Parks, The Kills), who was chosen not only to make the songs sound huge, but also to access the sentiments behind them.
Following their performances at Garden Amp in Garden Grove, California on September 7th with Gorilla Biscuits and Riot Fest in Chicago, Illinois on September 19th, Miliatrie Gun will embark on a string of headline shows along the west coast with support from Death Lens, Milly, Angel Du$t and Fleshwater on select dates. Full tour dates below and tickets available HERE. Additionally, Militarie Gun will be supporting Sex Pistols for two dates this fall – October 15th in San Francisco at The Warfield and October 16th in Los Angeles at Hollywood Palladium.
Miliatrie Gun’s debut album Life Under The Gun was one of 2023's most celebrated albums, released to praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NME, Revolver, Stereogum, SPIN, Paste, The FADER, and more. Last year, Militarie Gun released the Life Under The Sun EP, which saw reimaginations of tracks from their debut album with assistance from friends and collaborators including Bully, Manchester Orchestra, and Mannequin Pussy. Militarie Gun also released the Life Under The Sun mini-documentary which sees the band and a host of their Life Under The Sun EP collaborators reunite at Manchester Orchestra’s Atlanta studio to further reimagine the tracks featured on their aforementioned EP, with guest performances from Manchester Orchestra, Marisa Dabice of Mannequin Pussy, and Christine Goodwyne of Pool Kids, who steps in for Alicia Bognanno of Bully for a performance of “Never Fucked Up Twice.” Also last year, Militarie Gun shared “Gun Under The Gun (MFG),” which was created for the new WWE 2K24 video game as the walk-in music for Post Malone’s wrestling character. Post Malone also included “Do It Faster” on his curated playlist for the WWE 2K24 soundtrack.
Pre-order / save God Save The Gun and check out “B A D I D E A” above, see full live dates and album details below and stay tuned for more from Militarie Gun coming very soon.

Today, NYC band Native Sun have released their infectious new single “Adam,” the latest preview of their forthcoming debut album Concrete Language, out September 19th via TODO. The LP delivers a raw, forward-driving blend of garage rock, art rock, and punk—eschewing nostalgia in favor of something visceral and immediate.
“‘Adam’ is a song about friendship in a city that never slows down,” says vocalist/guitarist Danny Gomez. “People come and go, but the memories stay. It was inspired by one surreal night riding through New York, chasing something we couldn’t name.”
Recent album singles “No,” “Squash,” and “I Need Nothing” have earned praise from Rolling Stone, KCRW, FLOOD, DORK, The Line of Best Fit, and more. As momentum builds, Native Sun continue to cement their place as one of NYC’s most urgent and impressive live acts—recently sharing stages with Geese, Been Stellar, Sunflower Bean, YHWH Nailgun, and Model/Actriz.
This fall, the band will embark on a North American tour supporting Bass Drum of Death, which includes dates at NYC's Baby’s All Right (10/4) and Washington, D.C's DC9 (10/8), followed by their live debut and headlining tour of Europe and the UK. The Cowsills Announce 'The “Cocaine Drain” Album' out on 9/19 via Omnivore Recordings
out on September 19 via Omnivore Recordings
Storied 1978 Album Produced by Chuck Plotkin
(Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan) Makes Its Official Debut
Restored and Remastered Including 5 Bonus Tracks
Listen To Lead Single “Is Your Love Alive?”

August 11, 2025: Today, The Cowsills, the hit family singing group of the 60s, have announced the release of The “Cocaine Drain” Album, out September 19 via Omnivore Recordings. The “lost” album produced by Chuck Plotkin (Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan) in the 70s is finally back, restored and remastered, featuring 5 bonus tracks. Along with the announcement they’ve also shared a single from the album, “Is Your Love Alive?”
Listen To “Is Your Love Alive?”
The Cowsills’ story is now one of legend. From their beginnings as a pop-vocal group (and the inspiration for The Partridge Family), to their emergence as Alt-rock/Americana heroes, there’s
always a surprise in there. The “Cocaine Drain” Album is no exception.
From their acclaimed 2022 release Rhythm Of The World, to the reissue of 1998’s Global in 2024,
it has become obvious that the group is more than “The Rain, The Park, And Other Things.” And,
how so much music was “lost” when it should have been in everyone’s ears all this time.
In 1978, the band began recording demos with Chuck Plotkin, after an introduction from Jackson Browne, and eventually moved into studios to record a full album. In addition to Bob and Paul
Cowsill originals, the band recorded songs by John Hall (Orleans), future Grammy-winner Wendy Waldman, and “Buzzy” Feiten. It was all going smoothly until Plotkin moved on to mix Bruce Springsteen’s Darkness On The Edge Of Town. Future multiple Grammy-winner Val Garay (Kim Carnes, James Taylor, The Motels) stepped in to sequence and master the recordings, yet, an expected major-label deal never materialized. The masters disappeared, and (another) great
album languished in obscurity.
Finally, The “Cocaine Drain” Album (named after Hall’s composition) sees a proper release.
Garay’s original sequence sits next to five bonus recordings. Restored and remastered by multiple Grammy-winning engineer Michael Graves, the album feels as fresh and vital as it would have
upon its intended release. Liner notes from Bob Cowsill and Brett Milano outline the story of its
almost fantastical creation, and what happened after the dust settled.
So, it isn’t a dream anymore. The “Cocaine Drain” Album by The Cowsills makes a triumphant
return to the marketplace—even if it’s actually for the first time!

(August 11, 2025) - Today, Lady Wray shares the latest offering from her forthcoming new album with “Hard Times”. From its opening drum beats, Lady Wray’s new single beckons listeners to the dancefloor, with a triumphant, feel good anthem that collides contemporary R&B and classic soul with cheeky flashes of disco flair. Despite the dour foreshadowing of the song’s title, “Hard Times” is an uplifting statement of perseverance and holding on to one’s joy, a driving theme of Nicole’s new album Cover Girl, out September 26th via Big Crown Records.
Cover Girl elevates Wray’s artistry as the latest product of her decade-spanning partnership with Grammy Award winning producer Leon Michels (Clairo, Norah Jones, Freddie Gibbs). Together, Wray and Michels have crafted a joyful, revitalized vision of Wray’s sound, which draws from several of her formative musical influences, ‘60s and ‘70s-inspired soul and disco, ‘90s hip-hop and R&B, and gospel. Cover Girl also captures Wray turning the focus of her writing inward, looking back fondly on herself as a little girl as she’s grown as a mother in the years since 2022’s Piece of Me, living vivaciously with the same warmth she sees watching her daughter grow up.
Lady Wray’s North American tour begins September 18th in Kingston, NY, and she’ll be playing shows across the continent including dates in New York City, Toronto, Chicago, and LA, before concluding in Austin, Texas on November 22nd. Remaining tickets are available at ladynicolewray.com.
Following a series of industry road bumps and the doubts that can come with finding your footing when beginning a career in music at just 16, Lady Wray reclaimed the spirit she first brought to music singing in her hometown church choir. Her two previous albums on Big Crown Records, 2016’s Queen Alone and 2022’s Piece of Me, saw her reimagine her identity as a musician exactly how she wanted to be seen, and the latter of which led to her late night TV debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (performing “Come On In”) and perform a rousting NPR Tiny Desk Concert. With Cover Girl, Nicole is letting her hair down, continuing her decade-spanning partnership with Leon Michels to infuse the raw soul and gospel power in her voice with a self-assured collection of contemporary R&B, soul and funk songs that speak to her joy and the revived bliss of this stage of her career.
Listen to “Hard Times” above, see below for Lady Wray’s upcoming North American tour dates and more album details, and stay tuned for more from Lady Wray coming soon.
