Glen E. Friedman’s “Burning Flags ” exhibit to open at the Woody Guthrie Center on September 19

GLEN E. FRIEDMAN’S “BURNING FLAGS
EXHIBIT TO OPEN AT THE WOODY GUTHRIE CENTER ON SEPTEMBER 19
FEATURING PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE GOLDEN ERAS OF SKATEBOARDING, HARDCORE PUNK AND HIP-HOP
August 6, 2025—The Woody Guthrie Center announces the opening of “ Burning Flags ,” a powerful exhibition by legendary photographer Glen E. Friedman, on September 19, 2025. The exhibit will be its first showing in the United States after a popular run in Barcelona and Paris. It will bring Friedman’s iconic imagery of early hip-hop, hardcore punk and skateboarding to Tulsa through February 15, 2026.Featuring over 50 photos and several audio essays read by the subjects, “Burning Flags” presents striking images of artists who have shaped cultural landscapes, including Ian MacKaye, Ice-T, Tony Alva, Jello BiafraChuck D.Alan “Ollie” Gelfand and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels. Friedman, known for his raw and uncompromising photography of the hardcore punk, hip-hop and skateboarding scenes, captures the rebellious spirit that echoes the legacy of Woody Guthrie—an artist who used his platform to fight for justice and inspire change.“My ‘Burning Flags’ exhibition is the enduring photographic legacy of the passionate, iconoclastic individuals I respected and have created with, since 1976 as a young teen — radical skateboarders, revolutionary musical and cultural icons that inspired me,” said Friedman. “The communities of resistance and integrity these originators helped build are here to stay. It is fitting, then, that the U.S. premiere of this work will take place in America’s heartland, at the Woody Guthrie Center, the home of an artist who spent his life fighting against fascism, and for the rights of ordinary people. I am honored and humbled to have the appreciation and support of the American Song Archives to make this possible.”“‘Burning Flags’ embodies the same fearless activism and cultural commentary that defined Woody Guthrie’s life and work,” said Senior Director of the Woody Guthrie Center Cady Shaw. “Friedman’s photography tells the story of artists who, like Woody, used their voices to challenge the status quo and advocate for a better world. We are honored to share this exhibit with our community and continue the dialogue about art as a vehicle for social change.”A celebration of the opening will take place Friday, Sept. 19, at the Woody Guthrie Center, with Friedman participating in an on-stage conversation and book signing. Woody Guthrie Center members are invited to a special member exhibit preview before the doors open to the public. For more information on “Burning Flags,” upcoming events and to become a member, visit woodyguthriecenter.org.

Platinum-certified Artist Suki Waterhouse Joins the Island Records Family

ISLAND RECORDS WELCOMES SUKI WATERHOUSE

Credit: Madeleine Waterhouse

(August 6, 2025) Island Records is thrilled to announce the signing of platinum-certified indie pop songstress Suki Waterhouse to the iconic label. The partnership marks the beginning of a bold, bright, and brilliant new chapter in her already remarkable creative journey.

Suki has spent the past few years captivating global audiences with her evocative storytelling, genre-blending sound and magnetic stage presence from gracing the stage at Coachella and Lollapalooza to selling out her own international headlining tour.

Last fall, she released her sophomore album, Memoir of a Sparklemuffin, via Sub Pop Records, to critical acclaim from Interview Magazine who called it “her most vulnerable body of work yet” to the Los Angeles Times who said she “sparkles and shines” on the album to SPIN who hailed that it “marks an important milestone, solidifying her as an artist with a presence as enigmatic as it is captivating.” In June, she gifted fans the deluxe edition of the album with several new songs and live recordings from her sold-out headlining shows at Brooklyn’s Paramount Theatre, including a special performance of “Yeah! Oh, Yeah!” with Stephin Merritt of The Magnetic Fields, as well as her BBC Live cover of Clairo’s “Sexy To Someone” recorded at London’s Maida Vale Studios.

Suki will continue her Sparklemuffin Tour in Europe this month and will join Laufey this fall as direct support on the A Matter of Time tour, including multiple nights at New York’s Madison Square Garden and Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena.

“Suki is an incredible artist and magnetic personality.  Her creative world occupies a singular place in its artistic integrity and ambition.  We’re beyond excited to welcome her to the Island family and support her creative vision moving forward,” said Justin Eshak and Imran Majid, Co-Chairmen and CEOs of Island Records.

NIIA ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM V

August 6, 2025 - Italian-American jazz vocalist and composer Niia has announced V, a daring and bold new modern jazz album that cements her as one of today’s most fearless and innovative vocalists via the iconic Candid Records. V is Niia’s most personal and genre-defying work to date, and a sharp, soulful exploration of modern desire, heartbreak, and freedom. It’s a pivotal moment in Niia’s career, the culmination of years spent experimenting at the intersection of tradition and reinvention. Produced with Spencer Zahn - known for his blending of jazz, ambient, and modern classical composition into lush exploratory soundscapes (see Pigments with Dawn Richards) and Lawrence Rothman - the genre-blending producer and songwriter (see Angel Olsen, Margo Price, Kim Gordon, Kali Uchis, SASAMI, and Soccer Mommy) V is a full circle moment for the artist as she returns to her roots, her first love and true love, Jazz. It is the jazz-trained singer’s answer to a question that has lingered for her in recent years: “What does a modern Jazz singer sound like?” The album is out October 10.  PRE-ORDER HERE.

To launch this defining new chapter, Niia has released two electrifying singles, “Throw My Head Out The Window,” and “Ronny Cammareri.” Together, the tracks offer a glimpse into the layered musicianship, shifting styles, and emotional depth that define the record.

"Throw My Head Out the Window” falls into a distinct niche within modern jazz with diamond-sharp hooks with driving, simmering rhythm and surges of synth. Written by Niia, Zahn, Rothman, and powerhouse songwriter Chloe Angelides, it’s a heady rush of liberation and beauty. “Not a care in the world and I’m so beautiful. Throw my head out the window where nobody goes.” It captures a moment of pure honesty, riding free in emotion all alone for a moment there is peace. Featuring new wave jazz boundary pushers bassist Anna Butterss and Nicole McCabe on saxophone, the song’s sonic palette is as bold as its message. LISTEN AND WATCH (Visualizer)

“Ronny Cammareri” takes its title from Nicolas Cage’s Moonstruck character. “I love Moonstruck, it’s a perfect film.I feel a lot like Ronny who is chaos, passion and fate - love that makes no sense but changes everything,” she says. The instrumental track rides a slow-burning groove, with Niia almost lazil scat singing the melody in unison with the horn. The track is at the forefront of modern jazz, bringing elements of traditional and experimental together with Benny Bock (Sam Wilkes, Sam Gendel, Feist) on keys multi-instrumentalist Jon Natchez (The War On Drugs, Beirut, St. Vincent) on horns.

In July, Niia released her take on the beloved 1946 jazz standard “Angel Eyes” LISTEN. The single offers her own emotionally raw, minimal, and intimate version featuring just her voice and Benny Bock on piano, produced by Spencer Zahn whose production bridges vintage elegance with modern warmth. The track is reimagined without nostalgia—bare, exposed, and emotionally raw. It’s a thrilling first glimpse of what’s yet to come in the next chapter of Niia’s artistic evolution. This is the sound of a modern day jazz singer. WATCH “ANGEL EYES VIDEO”

Additionally, Niia will embark on the first leg of her European fall tour October 4th in Cologne, Germany. The tour makes stops in Denmark, Switzerland, and Hungary, before wrapping on October 28th in Vienna, Austria. Full tour dates below, with more to come. Tickets are on ON SALE NOW.

Following 2024’s acclaimed album Blu Wav, legendary indie-rock band Grandaddy will embark on a 2025 North American tour next month to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their seminal studio album The Sophtware Slump. Announced earlier this year to excitement spanning Rolling StoneBrooklynVeganPitchforkStereogumUnder The RadarConsequenceUproxx and more, the band will perform the beloved album in full on what will be their first US tour in over 20 years with Pedro the Lion & Greg Freeman as support.

Released in the year 2000 and infused with Lytle’s laid back humor & sensibility, the collection put a prescient spotlight on the significance of technology taking over in the future while the natural world falls apart – AI, ChatGPT, billionaires going into space – central to the global Y2K conversation at that time. From the opening track, “He’s Simple, He’s Dumb, He’s the Pilot”, Grandaddy said a tentative hello to the new century and a mournful goodbye to the old one, picking their way through the consumer detritus of shattered computer keyboards, shredded tires, floating sofas, and air conditioners rusting in the woods. The Sophtware Slump is an album about time and distance, nature and technology, loss and reclamation, progress and nostalgia, and all the precious things that do not last. Yet its greatest achievement is to stave off gloom and locate in its transcendent sadness the hope of escape. “Don’t give in, 2000 man.”

Grandaddy recently celebrated their legacy with a series of 20th anniversary reissues including The Sophtware Slump 20th anniversary reissue collection which Uncut dubbed “A prescient classic, reissued, reimagined and better than ever” and the Sumday Twunny 20th anniversary box set which earned a Pitchfork ‘Best New Reissue”. The band also created a special The Sophtware Slump ..... on a wooden piano to celebrate the groundbreaking album’s 20th anniversary. Grandaddy formed in 1992 and have released six official LPs, most recently 2024’s Blu Wav which earned widespread acclaim spanning NPR Morning EditionStereogum “Tracking Down”Pitchfork (8.0), Rolling Stone and more. Grandaddy’s original line up includes Jason Lytle, Aaron Burtch, Jim Fairchild, Tim Dryden, and the late Kevin Garcia, who passed away in 2017.

Making stops in NYC, DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, DC, Boston and more, be sure to catch Grandaddy’s The Sophtware Slump 25th Anniversary North American Tour in a city near you!

Bad Bad Hats Announce 'Psychic Reader' 10th Anniv. Package | Squirrel Flower Covers "All Nighter"

Bad Bad Hats

Announce  Psychic Reader (10th Anniversary Edition)  Vinyl Reissue

+ Psychic Readings  Digital Covers Companion Collection

(ft. Hippo Campus, The Ophelias, The Front Bottoms, Ratboys & more)

due out August 29

"...complex perspective that's at once clever, fresh, and earnest" – Pitchfork

"...the best version of [indie-pop music] I've heard in a long time" – Vulture

"...terse, honest lyrics suggest a weathered wisdom"  –  The New Yorker

“A gritty two-and-a-half minutes of wobbly bass, wailing guitar, and front woman

Kerry Alexander's slinky vocals, it is a blast…” – FADER

“programmed to fire all neural pathways associated with carefree indie rock fun.

But beware: These lyrics will bite.”  –  NPR

"...infectious melody-making" and "pure pop bliss"  –  Paste Magazine

Credit: Zoe Prinds-Flash

Helmed by songwriter Kerry Alexander (guitar/vocals) and Chris Hoge (guitar/bass), Bad Bad Hats’ breakout debut album Psychic Reader celebrated its 10 year anniversary just a few weeks ago on July 17. The critically acclaimed collection was a runaway success that continues to grow in its fandom, earning over 21 million streams on Spotify alone! The band is thrilled to celebrate this milestone with the announcement of the Psychic Reader (10th Anniversary Edition) reissue with new cover art, lyric insert and limited edition colored vinyl alongside the digital companion album Psychic Readings featuring covers of every song on the original album by Squirrel Flower, The Ophelias, Hippo Campus, The Front Bottoms, Ratboys and more – both due out on August 29.

On a balmy summer night of 2012, just as Chris and Kerry graduated college and formed their band Bad Bad Hats, Kerry wrote a heartfelt, longing song called “Everyday”. Two years later, it would develop into the beloved debut album single called “All Nighter”, still about fears of unrequited devotion from that time of life, but sounding bolder and brighter, touched by studio magic and the confidence of time passing. Today they’re thrilled to share the cover from their friend and musical peer Squirrel Flower. Commenting on the  All-Nighter (Squirrel Flower Version)Kerry shares, “Squirrel Flower perfectly invokes the listless melancholy of my early demo, which perfectly conveys the forlorn anxiety of the lyrics. I feel instantly transported by Ella’s heartfelt performance to that delicate time in my life.”

Psychic Reader highlights Bad Bad Hats’ cinematic sound, unshakeable pop hooks, punchy rhythm sections and several unexpectedly funky turns. Earning acclaim from fans, critics and fellow artists, the band has hit the road over the years with The BethsHippo Campus, The Front Bottoms, Third Eye Blind, Michelle Branch and more. Fans can experience the band’s captivating live show later this year and join them in celebrating 10 years of their enduring not-so-underground legacy.

“Few bands have been able to walk the line between the angst of grunge

and the warmth of folk quite as elegantly as The Lemonheads.”

-ROLLING STONE

“The Lemonheads’ ability to merge punk rock’s energetic simplicity with lush,

melodic hooks is both timeless and influential.”

-PITCHFORK

“One of the most influential bands of the last few decades.”

-BANDCAMP

The Lemonheads share their new single, "Key of Victory," today. This is the third single from the band's first album of all-new original material in almost two decades. Love Chant arrives via Fire Records on Friday, October 24. Pre-orders/pre-saves are available now.

On "Key of Victory," Evan Dando offers an introspective set of lyrics centring around the importance of honesty to oneself, and its taxing but necessary role in communication. Complementing the driving energy of previous singles, "Deep End" and "In The Margin," "The Key of Victory" is all slow motion and soft shadows — a modal, meditative piece anchored by Apollo Nove’s winding guitar and Erin Rae’s spectral harmonies. The song was written with David Ashby (Rum Shebeen), and its vocal was recorded at Abbey Road. Stamped with a profound lightness and beauty, "The Key of Victory" is indicative of the songwriting diversity at play on Love Chant.

“It’s quiet, it’s bitchin’. It’s pretty and it’s modal," says Dando. "I was trying to do like a 'Street Hassle' vibe, you know?”

PRE-ORDER/PRE-SAVE LOVE CHANT

Recorded at São Paulo’s A9 Áudio with producer Apollo Nove (Rita Lee, Bebel Gilberto, Seu Jorge), Love Chant marks the welcome return of a justifiably legendary rock ‘n’ roll band, with founding singer-songwriter-guitarist Evan Dando joined by a bevy of dear friends and collaborators including J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr), Juliana Hatfield, Tom Morgan (as co-writer for “Deep End”), producer Bryce Goggin (Pavement, Antony and the Johnsons), Nashville’s Erin Rae, John Strohm of the Blake Babies co-wrote and played guitar on “Togetherness,” and Nick Saloman of The Bevis Frond (a songwriter and performer on the swirling psych-folk gem “Roky”). Adam Green of cult New York favorites The Moldy Peaches also contributes as co-writer on the loose-limbed country detour “Wild Thing.”

The album was heralded by the premieres of the hard-hitting singles, “In The Margin” and "Deep End," available everywhere. “In The Margin” is a classic Dando composition: half-broken, half-beautiful, wrapped around a melody that disarms before it detonates. “Deep End” was co-written by Dando with longtime collaborator Tom Morgan of Smudge, the churning, riff-powered track, which features an instantly identifiable guitar solo from J Mascis and backing vocals from dear friend and frequent Lemonheads guest Juliana Hatfield. The song was met by worldwide attention upon its premiere last month by such high-profile publications as Rolling Stone, Billboard, Uncut, Stereogum, and Consequence, the latter of which praised its long-awaited reprise of the Lemonheads’ “scrappy, guitar-forward rock sound.” An official music video, filmed on location in São Paulo, Brazil, by directors Carlão Busato and Luigi Parisi, is streaming now on YouTube.

WATCH “DEEP END” OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO

Over the past few years, The Lemonheads’ influence has only deepened. Artists like MJ Lenderman, Courtney Barnett and Waxahatchee have all covered Dando’s songs, praising the emotional clarity, melodic instinct, and wry intimacy that define his writing. That resonance across generations makes Love Chant feel like more than a return — it’s a reminder of what made this band matter in the first place.

The Lemonheads will celebrate Love Chant with a marathon world tour, beginning this summer with a series of headline shows and top-billed festival appearances across the UK and Europe. North American dates get underway November 11 at Birmingham, AL’s WORKPLAY and then continue through a December 20 tour finale at Nashville, TN’s famed Basement East. For complete details, please visit www.thelemonheads.net/tour.

Evan Dando will be releasing his memoir, Rumors of My Demise, via Gallery Books, on October 7.

Rhett Miller Announces 10th Solo Album 'A lifetime of riding by night' out 10/10 - Debut Single ft. Turnpike Troubadours' Evan Felker Out Now

Rhett Miller Announces 10th Solo Album
A lifetime of riding by night
Produced by Old 97’s Bandmate Murry Hammond
Out October 10 via ATO Records

Debut single  “Come As You Are”  Featuring Turnpike Troubadours’ Evan Felker Out Now

Announces Solo Album Release TourAlternate text

August 5, 2025: Today, acclaimed singer/songwriter Rhett Miller announced A lifetime of riding by night, his tenth studio album that will be released on October 10 via ATO Records. Produced by his Old 97’s bandmate Murry Hammond, the 13-song collection was recorded just days before undergoing a high-risk surgery on his vocal cords. Threaded with his lived-in reflection on mortality and love in all forms, the album contains some of Miller’s most unguarded material yet—an achievement he attributes to revelations gleaned through his recent work in teaching songwriting at The New School in Manhattan, as well as the eclectic lineup of co-writers including Turnpike Troubadours frontman Evan FelkerCaitlin RoseNicole Atkins, and Jesse Valenzuela of Gin Blossoms. The album is now available for pre-order, including a limited edition vinyl run of 300 copies pressed on frosted Coke bottle, available only via Rhett Miller’s and ATO’s web store.

This morning, Miller released the album’s first single “Come As You Are” that features Evan Felker, who also co-wrote the song, on background vocals. Miller has also announced a national album release tour that will kick off this October and make stops in Los Angeles, Seattle, New York, Dallas, St. Paul and many more. Find a full list of tour dates below or visit his website.

Watch the official video for “Come As You Are.”

About the song, Miller explains, “That song came together at a time when Evan and I were both wrestling with the difficulty of leaving our loved ones behind to go on tour. It’s a sweet song but there’s a sadness to it, which feels reflective of the true human condition. Evan's band Turnpike Troubadours recorded a version of the song a few years back as a single, but it's always been in my mind that I wanted to record my own version of the song. Despite it being a co-write, ‘Come As You Are’ feels like a really personal moment. That said, I get a tickle out of hearing Evan's harmony on there – he's such a talented guy and a great friend."

Evan Felker adds, “Rhett has been a never-ending source of inspiration and wit and humility for my career and for the times when I didn’t have one. He writes with a passion for the world that is as reckless as it is correct and smart. Whatever deal he made with the devil, I want that one too. He’s the prime example of why you should meet your heroes.”

Mainly recorded at Dave’s Room in Los Angeles, the album marks Miller’s first time enlisting Hammond as a producer since his solo debut album Mythologies (a 1989 LP created when he was 17-years-old). “Murry was a mentor to me when we made that first record all those decades ago, and this album felt like the right time to work with him in that capacity again,” Miller says. “I gave him carte blanche in a way I never have with any other producer—we went in and recorded 20 songs, and I flew home to New York without even knowing which songs he’d end up using or what the finished versions would sound like. I just let go and trusted Murry completely.”

His first solo effort since 2022’s The Misfit (an extravagant collision of dream-pop and psychedelia), A lifetime of riding by night centers on a gorgeously sparse form of folk/indie-rock that reveals every nuance and idiosyncrasy of Miller’s vocal performance. “There’s a lot of terrifying stories about the type of surgery I received, and I wanted to record the album first because I knew the worst outcomes were on the table,” he says. “I was in a lot of physical pain as I was singing these songs; there are moments when you can hear me really struggling. But as much as I thought about going back and re-recording the vocals once I’d recovered, I knew those imperfections were part of the DNA of the record. To me there’s something very human about a singer trying to sing the best he can despite being compromised.”

A lifetime of riding by night follows Old 97’s 2024 album American Primitive that celebrated their 30th anniversary.  The album was featured in Rolling StoneSPINBrooklynVeganTexas Monthly and AllMusic, who proclaimed, “Most bands don't sound as fresh, confident, and willing to take chances three decades into their career as the Old 97's do on American Primitive; they've quietly but firmly matured into one of America's best roots rock acts.” The band also made their return to network television to perform three songs on CBS Saturday Morning.

THE ARMED FT. PROSTITUTE VIDEO

THE ARMED DROP VIDEO FOR “BROKEN MIRROR FT. PROSTITUTE”

THE   FUTURE IS HERE AND EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE DESTROYED  OUT NOW

TOUR DATES WITH PROSTITUTE BEGIN AUGUST 15TH

"some of its heaviest music yet: visceral, vital, and filled with desperate, righteous anger." - Pitchfork

"This is the record that we didn’t realize we needed at this exact moment "- NPR

"the chaos on this new album is thrilling." - Stereogum Album of the Week

"a hurtling, screaming, overloaded barrage of fury at a 21st-century hellscape" - The New York Times

The Armed released a new album, THE FUTURE IS HERE AND EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE DESTROYED last week and today they are back with a video for “Broken Mirror” featuring Detroit area brutalists Prostitute. The video (directed by Rob Shaw and Tony Wolski) is an unsettling,dread-inducing collage of performance and surveillance feeding back into one another via primitive analog capture methods.”It’s a hideous visual aesthetic reflecting a not-particularly-flattering take on life, love and culture in 2025.”

The two bands will be sharing the stage together starting August 15th for stops in Boston, New York City, DC, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Detroit.

Their most urgent and raw effort in a decade the album is immediately being hailed as one of their best and most important works. Both brisk and editorial in runtime and arrangement, yet vast in scope and dense within its bounds, the record reflects a world of constant and varied inundation. After completing a trilogy of albums laser-focused on dissecting artistic authenticity in the Information Age, The Armed began work on new material with no premeditated rules or concept. What emerged is a furious and confrontational new album—THE FUTURE IS HERE AND EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE DESTROYED. Still genre-defying, yet overtly pissed, it's an unfiltered expression of Weltschmerz, the German term describing the anguish of the world’s reality versus our idealized visions of what it should be. “It’s music for a statistically wealthy population that somehow can’t afford food or medicine—endlessly scrolling past vacation photos, gym selfies, and images of child amputees in the same feed. It reflects the dissociation required just to exist in that reality,” Wolski explains.

(August 5, 2025) - AFI announce their new album Silver Bleeds the Black Sun… due October 3rd via Run For Cover Records, today. Silver Bleeds the Black Sun… marks the twelfth album from AFI and will include the lead single “Behind the Clock,” which ushers in the bold new era for the iconic band. Alongside the new single, AFI share a music video directed by Gilbert Trejo.

Speaking about the “Behind the Clock” video, director Trejo offers, “We wanted the video to feel like you’re seeing something you shouldn’t. In effect you are, because that’s how Davey writes lyrics. He’s expressing himself so openly, that you’re let behind this curtain. It’s a world that most artists don’t cut to, marrow deep.”

Sharing the experience working with Trejo, vocalist Davey Havok shares, “Gilbert’s video has sublimated the essence of ‘Behind the Clock.’ His vision and expertise is inspiring. Working with him was a privilege and utter joy. He is an artist of the purest form.”

For more than three decades, AFI has been in a nearly constant state of reinvention. The band have made it a point to evolve with every album – sometimes dramatically so – never allowing themselves to become too comfortable in one genre or rest on any of their impressive career laurels. It’s an approach that has grown their audience but also challenged it with a sonic identity that can shift in wild, unexpected directions. Now with Silver Bleeds the Black Sun…, AFI are once again at the start of an exciting new chapter, only this time they’ve even managed to surprise themselves.

The goal of Silver Bleeds the Black Sun… was to make an album with a singular mood, something dreamy and ethereal, and the band members found themselves diving headfirst into influences that had always been deeply embedded in AFI’s musical core, but now were being brought to the forefront. The result is an album that feels out of time, at once familiar and fresh, drawing on classic sounds and reinterpreting them through a modern lens. Silver Bleeds the Black Sun… is dark and otherworldly, but also grandiose and stately, biting and beautiful in equal measure—in other words, it’s very AFI, yet not quite like any version of the band you’ve ever heard before.

It’s this combination of endless creative daring, deftly wielded influences, and above all else, an unshakeable sense of self that’s allowed AFI to stay relevant for more than 30 years, often leading the way through emerging musical moments. From their scrappy roots as a high school hardcore band oin the early ‘90s (Answer That and Stay Fashionable, Very Proud of Ya and Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes), to their dark melodic punk reinvention at the turn of the century (Black Sails in the Sunset and The Art of Drowning), to their crossover into mainstream stardom in the early 2000s (Sing the Sorrow and Decemberunderground) and their years as shapeshifting alternative rock journeymen (Crash Love, Burials, The Blood Album, and Bodies), the band has survived and thrived by staunchly being themselves—no matter what that is.

This fall, AFI will embark on their headline North American tour with special guests TR/ST to celebrate the release of Silver Bleeds The Black Sun... The 24-date run will begin on September 30th in Madison, WI with stops in Chicago, Brooklyn, Boston, Atlanta, Dallas, and Denver, before wrapping November 5th in San Diego, CA. The tour marks AFI’s first full-scale outing since their celebrated 2021 release Bodies, and will offer fans the chance to experience songs from across their extensive catalog, delivered with the band’s signature electrifying performance.
