JÁNA announces debut album due 9/19 + shares new single

JÁNA ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM

SHARES NEW SINGLE “MORE TO LIFE”

ORBIT OUT SEPTEMBER 19TH

JÁNA by Sofia Aedo Zahou

“More To Life”

LISTEN: https://awal.ffm.to/moretolife

(August 14, 2025) - Today, Swedish singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist JÁNA announces the release of her debut album Orbit, set for release September 19th. Alongside the announcement, she shares her third single from the project, “More To Life.” Blending strummed acoustic guitar with dreamy synths and rock-influenced drums, “More To Life” captures the emotional weight of feeling stuck in a loop. Written during a period of existential boredom, the track reflects a quiet craving for meaning beneath the surface of everyday life.

“More To Life” follows the release of “Distant”, a raw and soulful reflection on emotional numbness, and “When Time Flies”, a bittersweet meditation on love, nostalgia, and the passage of time. Each single offers a glimpse into the emotional terrain of Orbit, an album that explores disconnection, longing, growth, and self-reclamation through lush soundscapes and honest storytelling.

On “Distant,” JÁNA lays bare the flatlined aftermath of heartbreak, producing the track herself alongside Swedish producer Jonathan Börjesson, with Graciela Chin A Loi on backing vocals. The track showcases JÁNA on both guitar and bass, revealing a stripped-back vulnerability and sonic minimalism.

“When Time Flies,” created with FAMILY_TIME and Yukimi Nagano (Little Dragon), with Ben Reed (Frank Ocean) on bass and Emmanuel Hailemariam on guitar, moves through warm soul textures with a Nordic sense of stillness and melancholy. A live performance video accompanying the track features personal archival footage from JÁNA’s childhood, offering an emotional visual narrative to match the song’s nostalgic tone.

Orbit reflects a creative evolution for JÁNA, who has reconnected with her roots as a guitarist and self-producing artist. After time spent writing in Los Angeles, collaborating in Gothenburg with Little Dragon, and crafting music independently in Stockholm, she emerges with a sound that’s more honest and present than ever.

With past collaborations with the likes of Little Dragon, Vic Mensa, and VanJess, and a songwriting credit on Stormzy’s acclaimed album This Is What I Mean, JÁNA has steadily built an international reputation. She has appeared on BBC Radio 1, COLORSXSTUDIOS, and Spotify’s Oyster initiative, and performed at major festivals including SXSW, All Points East, and Way Out West, sharing stages with artists such as Leon Bridges and Little Dragon.

Listen to “More To Life” and stay tuned for more music from JÁNA coming soon.

Hear Six Finger Satellite’s Raucous Jam “Massive Cocaine Seizure (2025 Remaster)”

Hear Six Finger Satellite’s Raucous Jam “Massive Cocaine Seizure (2025 Remaster)”

Today, August 13th, you can hear Six Finger Satellite’s “Massive Cocaine Seizure (2025 Remaster),” the raucous A-side from the band’s rare, out-of-print 7” single, originally released on Sub Pop in 1996. The new remastered version is available today on all DSPs, and is from the forthcoming Severe Exposure: Deluxe Edition, the expanded 30th anniversary version of the group’s exhilarating 2nd album available worldwide from Sub Pop on September 12th, 2025.

In addition to the original album, Severe Exposure: Deluxe Edition includes a bonus 12” of the 1994 Machine Cuisine EP, and a download of 17 additional songs, including rare singles, compilation tracks, and unreleased material (see “Parlous Games (2025 Remaster)” Official Video). All the material has been freshly mastered by JJ Golden, and the vinyl is packaged in a lovely slipcase with individual jackets for each LP.

Severe Exposure would go on to become Six Finger Satellite’s best-selling album to date, which the band recorded at their own studio, The Parlour, in Providence, Rhode Island.

Formed in 1990 in Providence by J. Ryan (singer/keyboards), John MacLean (guitar), Peter Phillips (guitar), Chris Dixon (bass), and Rick Pelletier (drums), Six Finger Satellite quickly signed to Sub Pop for the Weapon EP. Shortly thereafter, they released their landmark 1993 debut, The Pigeon Is the Most Popular Bird, and then, in 1995, Severe Exposure.

Severe Exposure foreshadowed the early ‘00s revival of post-punk and synth-oriented rock by adding synths to the band’s caustic, tense post-punk sound. All Music called the album, “Herky-jerky pandemonium rife with buzzing guitars and spooky, deliberately melodramatic synth and Moog lines, Severe Exposure is filled with tight, paranoid riffs that fulfills the deepest wish of anyone who ever wanted to find out what the unholy progeny of Big Black and Devo would sound like.” Trouser Press wrote that “‘Rabies (Baby’s Got The)’ and ‘Simian Fever’ are animal aggressive and messy, while sharing the synthetic digitone lusts of new wave.” The SF Weekly praised it as “a party record, the kind you slip on at that inevitable point when you want ‘certain people’ to head home.” Chunklet doubles down on the album’s festive vibe: “Severe Exposure is a guaranteed party…”

Severe Exposure: Deluxe Edition is now available to preorder from Sub Pop. LP preorders from megamart.subpop.comMega Mart Europe, and select independent retailers will receive the limited Loser Edition on Coke Bottle Clear & Transparent Orange (the EU edition is limited to 1k copies).

Severe ExposureDeluxe Edition follows the 2023 deluxe reissue of The Pigeon is the Most Popular Bird, also out now on Sub Pop.

RADIOHEAD ANNOUNCE NEW HAIL TO THE THIEF LIVE ALBUM

RADIOHEAD ANNOUNCE NEW HAIL TO THE THIEF LIVE ALBUM

HAIL TO THE THIEF LIVE RECORDINGS 2003 – 2009 IS OUT DIGITALLY TODAY AND PHYSICALLY ON FRIDAY OCTOBER 31ST

WATCH A LIVE VERSION OF “THERE, THERE” FROM BUENOS AIRES HERE

Radiohead have today announced Hail to the Thief Live Recordings 2003-2009 – a new live album that allowed the band to re-evaluate their relationship with their 6th studio album, Hail To The Thief. The band have also shared a live video performance of “There, There” from Buenos Aires, taken from the album – watch here.

Out now digitally, and available to pre-order as a one-off pressing, released on October 31st, the album comprises performances of songs in London, Amsterdam, Buenos Aires, and Dublin between 2003 and 2009. The album was mixed by Ben Baptie and mastered by Matt Colton.

Speaking about the new live album, Thom Yorke says:

“In the process of thinking of how to build arrangements for the Shakespeare Hamlet/Hail To The Thief theatre production, I asked to hear some archive live recordings of the songs. I was shocked by the kind of energy behind the way we played. I barely recognised us, and it helped me find a way forward. We decided to get these live recordings mixed and released (it would have been insane to keep them for ourselves). It has all been a very cathartic process. We very much hope you enjoy them.”

The one-off vinyl pressing is also available in a limited-edition red colorway from independent stores and on cyan-colored vinyl, exclusively from Radiohead’s W.A.S.T.E. store.

Thom Yorke recently co-created the critically acclaimed Hamlet Hail to the Thief, a frenetic adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, set to a deconstructed score of reworked songs from 2003’s Hail to the Thief. Rolling Stone UK said of the new production, “The biggest testament to Yorke and his co-writers that these worlds collide so seamlessly, as if they were always meant to be together.”

YouTubeOSEES, the ferocious-garage punk act led by John Dwyer, last week released their new album  ABOMINATION   REVEALED AT LAST  via Deathgod, arriving to wide acclaim. Today the LP is the #1 most added new release on the NACC Radio Adds Chart, and has received praise and support from KEXP, PitchforkAV ClubFLOODBandcampBrooklyn VeganAquarium DrunkardNorthern Transmissions, and many more.

The 12 tracks on ABOMINATION... are a pummeling, maniacal, and propulsive attack on the senses–a fitting reaction to a world suffering from genocide, environmental collapse, state sanctioned violence, progressing technocracy, and more. "Well this album just channelled out of the mist of atrocities swirling around the planet right now," songwriter John Dwyer explains. "AI empathy, genocides, social media data collection & addiction, the alignment of tech billionaires with the fascist overlords and their armada of dogs, civilians being kidnapped by bootlicking thugs, the death of due process...the list goes on and on. It's been a long year already."

The LP was recorded by Enrique Tena Padilla, Mario Ramirez  & Dwyer, mixed by Padilla and Dwyer, and mastered by JJ Golden. OSEES are John Dwyer (vocals/guitar/synths), Tom Dolas (guitar/samples/keys), Tim Hellman (bass), and Dan Rincon (drums).

ABOMINATION... arrives on the heels of ripping performances at the UK's Glastonbury Festival and LA's Teragram Ballroom. OSEES will also embark on a U.S. tour for the rest of the year, including dates at Brooklyn, NY's Warsaw (10/25 + 10/26), an additional show at LA's Teragram Ballroom (9/30), San Francisco, CA's The Chapel (8/30 + 8/31 + 9/1), and more.  Full routing is below and tickets can be purchased here.

Too easily humans forget their humanity. Forgiveness is a dead science. Empathy is viewed as a weakness by cretins. Easier to hate rather than love. Fear and greed have dug their bloody hands into everything.

At least now we know who you are. We see you. We defy you.

SEVENTH ALBUM CADET

COMING SOON VIA DOM RECS

MORE INFO AND TICKETS HERE

Today, acclaimed musician Twin Shadow shares the official music video for his latest single “Dominoes,” the first song from his recently announced seventh album CADET, which is set to be released this year via Dom Recs. Produced by Twin Shadow with longtime friend and close collaborator Blackpaw, “Dominoes” comes to life through dynamic drum programming that adds urgency and new texture to one of Twin Shadow’s most intimate performances to date – you can hear the fun two friends had making the track. Both sonically expansive and lyrically direct, “Dominoes” captures the magic of hope.

“Dominoes is a reflection on vulnerability, distance, and devotion. The chorus sings:  If my heart is an ocean / it’s totally blue = I’m all in.”

–Twin Shadow

CADET follows Twin Shadow’s intimate sixth album, Georgie, which was released in March of this year. Dedicated to his late father, Georgie explores themes of grief, memory, and introspection through stripped-back and dreamy instrumentation. CADET sees Twin Shadow back in his drum machine bag with punchy drumbeats and heated warping synthesizers.

After hugely successful tours of the UK and Europe, Andy Bell will be embarking on his first ever solo tour of North America beginning October 3rd. His album, Ten Crowns , released in May of this year, marked a magisterial moment in his forty-year career, and reconfirms that he is one of the great pop vocalists of our time. Travelling into new dimensions and possibilities with gospel in his heart and dance in his soul clearly suits him.  Bell's four decades of writing and recording with Vince Clarke as Erasure are still going strong - the duo are currently working on a new album together and celebrate their 40th anniversary next year. For Ten Crowns, Bell threw himself into writing with close friend Dave Audé, the Grammy award-winning producer, remixer and DJ. Andy and Dave had previously collaborated on two Billboard Dance Club Songs number ones together: 2014’s ‘Aftermath (Here We Go)’ and 2016’s ‘True Original’. Best known as one half of Erasure, one of the UK’s most beloved award-winning songwriting partnerships, Andy Bell has a successful and varied parallel solo career with releases that include three solo albums under his own name, and a further two as offshoots of his one-man theatre project,  Torsten The Bareback Saint . Throughout his incredible career, he has collaborated with artists as diverse as British Electric Foundation, Jake Shears, Claudia Brücken (Propaganda), Perry FarrellBoy George, and most recently, Debbie Harry His ascendancy began when he answered an ad that Vince Clarke (Depeche Mode / Yazoo / The Assembly) had placed in the Melody Maker, and, after a successful audition, the duo formed the phenomenon known as Erasure. Their decades-long song-writing partnership has seen Erasure crowned Best British Group at The Brit Awards and receive the Attitude Icon Award, amongst many other accolades. Since the release of their debut, Wonderland, they have gone on to sell over 20 million albums, 5 of their 18 studio albums hitting the UK number one spot, as well as multiple Top 20 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. Their most recent release, 2020’s The Neon, debuted at #4 on the UK Official Albums Chart, and the duo are working on a new Erasure album project. Andy also recently received the ICON Award at the PEUGEOT Attitude PRIDE Awards Europe 2025. The live shows will feature a combination of tracks from Ten Crowns, as well as Erasure classics.
“Our very own Pride Icon delivered a set that many agreed was a highlight of the weekend, and perhaps the best he’s ever sounded.” Attitude  "These truly are some of Bell’s best onstage performances for years.” Clash Magazine  “Andy Bell proved once again that whether fronting Erasure or flying solo, he remains a showman of the highest order.” Scottish Music Network “An uplifting and engaging experience.” Yorkshire Times NORTH AMERICAN DATES:October 3 - Nashville, TN - Basement EastOctober 7 - Atlanta, GA - Buckhead TheatreOctober 10 - Fort Lauderdale, FL - RevolutionOctober 11 - Fort Lauderdale, FL - RevolutionOctober 14 - Durham, NC - Durham Performing Arts CenterOctober 17 - Washington DC - Lincoln TheatreOctober 18 - Washington DC - Lincoln TheatreOctober 21 - Toronto, ON - Queen Elizabeth TheatreOctober 23 - New York, NY - Gramercy TheatreOctober 24 - New York, NY - Gramercy TheatreOctober 25 - New York, NY - Gramercy TheatreOctober 28 - Pittsburgh, PA - Roxian TheatreOctober 29 - Bethlehem, PA - Wind Creek Event Center

PRE-ORDER/PRE-SAVE DUETS SPECIAL

Speaking about the origins of the Duets Special album and "Always On My Mind," Hynde says: “I never thought about doing a Duets album before. I think the idea came about in 2023. I was talking to Jörn, Rufus Wainwright’s husband, on the phone. I think we were recommending novels to each other, and for some reason, I said Hey, maybe Rufus and I should do something, and quickly scribbled out 10 songs off the top of my head. So Jörn asked Rufus, who was up for it, and that’s how it started. A spontaneous and what I thought would be a fun thing.”

The artists that perform with Hynde on Duets Special celebrate 13 uniquely distinct voices through stripped-down, intimate arrangements and minimal, refined instrumentation. The theme connecting all of the songs is simply great melodies.

Duets Special isn't just Chrissie Hynde's fourth studio album under her own name. The new record presents an exciting and unexpected left turn amidst one of the most creative chapters of her career. Duets Special closely follows The Pretenders’ latest studio album, Relentless - described as “at their melodic best” by The Guardian. The world tour that followed also created a new live record, Kick 'em Where It Hurts. When Hynde performed at the Mark Lanegan 60 Celebration Concert at the Roundhouse last year, The Times suggested her voice “should have Unesco world heritage status by now.”

Outside of the studio, painting has become an inseparable part of Hynde's creative life. In the last seven years, her artwork has been exhibited to acclaim in London, New York, and Massachusetts. It has also graced the sleeve of her 2019 album of cover versions, Valve Bone Woe, as motifs on garments in Vivienne Westwood’s Spring-Summer 2021 collection, and most recently through a new exhibition of paintings titled Hynde Sight. The latest installment, Hynde Sight II is currently open at Harvey & Woodd, Edinburgh, until 23 August www.chrissiehynde.art.

Neko Case Shares New Song "Winchester Mansion of Sound" + Announces 2026 Tour

NEKO CASE SHARES NEW SONG
WINCHESTER MANSION OF SOUND

NEW ALBUM ‘NEON GREY MIDNIGHT GREEN’
OUT SEPTEMBER 26

2026 NORTH AMERICAN TOUR ANNOUNCED

Today Neko Case is sharing her upcoming album ‘Neon Grey Midnight Green’ 's most poignant elegy, “Winchester Mansion of Sound”. Inspired by Case’s late friend and collaborator Dexter Romweber of the Flat Duo Jets, the song musically draws inspiration from Robbie Basho’s “Orphan’s Lament”— “the saddest song ever,” says Case — as well as the classic “Down Down Baby” nursery rhyme. The latter struck her as both comforting and a little melancholy, a bittersweet melody, like nostalgia itself. Listen to it below.

Listen to “Winchester Mansion of Sound”: https://youtu.be/mBdEjoJtQQA

Plagued with a sort of intuition about death, Case penned the piano epic about two years before Romweber’s 2024 passing when she found herself worrying about him. As Case wrote in her recent memoir The Harder I FightThe More I Love You, the first time she heard Romweber’s pioneering psychobilly group, “something unlocked in her that day, the way making music could become a physical manifestation of the blazing wild horse energy inside of her body.” She called it “not a romantic love, but an all-consuming one”—a common thread across her memoir and her new album.

Arriving September 26, ‘Neon Grey Midnight Green’ is Case’s first new music this decade, following 2018’s ‘Hell-On’, an eclectic piece that The Guardian called “a pitch-perfect roar of female defiance.” Her latest is no less urgent but carries a deep blue streak of sentimentality in its incandescent blaze. More than any of her past albums, ‘Neon Grey Midnight Green’ was laid down live with a full band – even breaths and shirt-sleeve rustlings were kept in the final mix as a reminder that “humans were here.” Recording primarily took place at Case’s own Vermont studio, Carnassial Sound, with additional sessions in Denver, Colorado with the PlainsSong Chamber Orchestra and in Portland, Oregon with Tucker Martine.

“There are so few producers who are women, nonbinary, or trans,” says Case, who identifies as gender fluid and uses she/her pronouns. “People don’t think of us as an option. I’m proud to say I produced this record. It is my vision. It is my veto power. It is my taste.”

The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You was released in January and reached #5 on The New York Times nonfiction best sellers list. Raised “by two dogs and a space heater” in Washington state, the book’s vibrant wordplay and unflinching humor were a familiar balm to fans. Case has also been hard at work composing the musical adaptation of the 1991 Academy Award-winning motion picture Thelma & Louise after being personally selected by the original screenwriter and Academy Award winner Callie Khouri.

Listening to Case’s music will teach you about this world — human nature’s cruelty, perseverance and terrifying beauty, but the natural world as well — the moon and the stars, bees, lions and magpies. Should you encounter a wayward soul who has never heard her music, you might respond, “Well, she once sang from the perspective of a tornado,” as if to say: there’s no physical form that could stop her potent voice and evocative storytelling.

Case begins touring in promotion of ‘Neon Grey Midnight Green’ days after the album’s release, beginning with a sold-out show at Woodstock’s Levon Helm Studios on October 1. This week she has also announced her 2026 tour kicking off in Montreal on January 8. Presales begin today at 10 am local time and all dates are listed below. Today, Los Angeles band Angelsaur release their sophomore album The Girls Are Stressed co-produced and mixed by Andy Baldwin (Björk), blending 2010s indie nostalgia with electronic, alternative, and pop sensibilities to create an eclectic and undefinable sound as they grapple with the realities of aging, heartbreak, and self-worth. Recorded across homes and studios within Silver Lake, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Indio, singer/bassist Logan McQuade and guitarist Jonah Feingold share “The Girls Are Stressed was born during a chaotic chapter in both our lives, shaped by the collective unrest we felt within ourselves, our friends, and our families. It’s an album about growing through pain—and how honesty, even at its messiest, can lead to something unexpectedly beautiful.”

In July, the band released their fourth single “Around You,” a stunning declaration of love which Atwood Magazine praised the track saying "Angelsaur’s music blends glam, grit, and grunge into a bold and brutally honest soundscape." The song received support from Spotify on All New Indie + Fresh Finds and previous singles – “If I Could Catch The Rain” and “Choke Chain” – garnered playlist placements on New Alternative on Apple Music, Fresh Finds and Fresh Find Rocks on Spotify.

To celebrate the release of The Girls Are Stressed, the band will play Moroccan Lounge on August 14 - details HERE.

More on Angelsaur and The Girls Are Stressed…

Los Angeles-based band Angelsaur are committed to honest sentiments with their raw and expressive approach to making music. Singer/bassist Logan McQuade and guitarist Jonah Feingold met while attending Thornton School of Music at USC and worked/toured with notable artists such as King Princess, Del Water Gap, Fiji Blue, Mark Ronson, Omar Apollo and more.

Following their debut record Children Disguised As Adults in 2023, the band returns with their introspective sophomore album, The Girls Are Stressed – co-produced and mixed with trusted engineer Andy Baldwin (Bjork) – they explore the struggles of aging, validation, sobriety and how to reclaim self-worth as time progresses. Recorded between different studios and homes in Los Angeles and Indio, CA, the album started as a collection of songs that came together after a long touring break with King Princess in 2024 and the ending of a seven-year relationship for McQuade. “The album dives into my search for self-worth and confidence,” McQuade says of the songs lyrically. “A lot of the songs are me reckoning with the slow unraveling of something that had shaped so much of my identity.”

Angelsaur’s lush arrangement of crispy, grunge, experimental and alt instrumentation was built to feel like a live show, drawing inspiration from their extensive experience on tour, complementing the vulnerable lyricism of discovering happiness, letting go and moving forward. “The album feels like a chaotic feast,” the band says of the record. “We wanted to evolve everything—our production, songwriting, and sound—while still making something that felt undeniably and uniquely us.”
