ANNIE-CLAUDE DESCHÊNES shares new track "Main de Fer (Shit Robot Remix)"

ANNIE-CLAUDE DESCHÊNES- Shares new track "Main de Fer (Shit Robot Remix)"
- Announces EU tour dates

Annie-Claude Deschênes  presents the first in a series of remixes of " Main de Fer ", her latest single released in April. Produced by Shit Robot (DFA Records), it is available now on all platforms. The track is out now via Italians Do It Better (US) and Bonsound (ROW).

"I chose Shit Robot because his unique sound and creative vision felt like the perfect match to reimagine Main de Fer in a bold, new way", explains Annie-Claude. The Irish producer and DJ, known for his affiliation with the DFA Records label, brings an analog touch to the track by using a variety of synthesizers and sequencers straight out of the 90s. "This was one of those great projects where you fire up the machines and everything falls into place really quickly. I was very excited to get started on this as the original vocals are great and the energy of the track is infectious", adds Shit Robot, who also mixed the final result alongside LCD Soundsystem member and Grammy Award winner Korey Richey.

Annie-Claude Deschênes will perform at the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg on September 18th and at Rialto Hall at POP Montreal on September 25th before embarking on a European tour in October. This series of dates will take her to Brussels, Strasbourg, Lyon, Luxembourg, and Paris, among other cities, after which she will return to Canada for dates in Toronto and the province of Quebec. She will also be part of M for Montreal’s official selection in November. See the list below for all tour dates.

Multidisciplinarity is an integral part of the creative process of Annie-Claude Deschênes, who continues her perpetual personal quest of uniting music and performance art by bending the pre-established conventions of stage presence. A key figure on the Montreal independent music scene for almost twenty years, she made her mark as a singer, musician, songwriter, performer and visual artist with Duchess Says and PyPy, two bands that are renowned as much for their electrifying performances as for their artistic sensibility. Over the course of her career, she shared the stage with a number of internationally renowned bands, including The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, The Black Lips, The Hives, The Hot Snakes and Buzzcocks. Duchess Says and PyPy's extensive touring has taken her all over North America and Europe, playing venues and festivals (Primavera Fest, Eurockéennes de Belfort, OSHEAGA, Sled Island, etc.) as well as unconventional locations such as golf courses, factories and churches. Her exploratory approach to staging and sound design takes a new direction with this solo project: the urgency that characterizes her work remains, but frustration and aggression give way to introspection and vulnerability. Annie-Claude Deschênes explores and reinvents herself under her own name, driven by a constant need to create outside of her comfort zone.

Inspired by minimal pop and the pioneers of electronic music,  LES MANIÈRES DE TABLE , her first solo album released in spring of 2024, is as danceable and melodic as it is disquieting and dystopian, proposing to set the table differently by deconstructing the social codes of politeness imposed on us. LES MANIÈRES DE TABLE earned a spot on the Polaris Prize long list and garnered attention from international media outlets such as KEXP, BrooklynVegan, CLASH, The Guardian, Les Inrockuptibles and Radio Nova, as well as landing on several year-end lists.

(August 21, 2025) - Fresh off announcing her Vanity World Tour beginning in September and her COLORSxSTUDIOS debut, Isabella Lovestory shares the music video for standout album cut “Eurotrash”. The new music video for the electro-trap banger, directed by Victoria Vavidoff in collaboration with Isabella and Moshpit, continues the artist’s sly interrogation of the idea of vanity. It’s underlying grotesqueries, as she gallivants across Europe in an ornate carriage with her eurotrashy baddies and dyed toy poodles by her side, paints a picture of overwrought grandeur that’s central to the ideas behind the world of Vanity.

Isabella began the year on a run of eclectic live shows across festival stages including Paris’ We Love Green, Barcelona’s Primavera Sound and New York’s LadyLand Festival. Her Vanity World Tour will see her tour across North America and Europe, joined by pop upstart Cece Natalie and burgeoning DJ and producer Ali RQ in North America. Her North American run will span 18 dates across the continent beginning Friday, September 12th in Miami, followed by her European leg which begins on October 26th in Lisbon, Portugal and runs through November 17th. Remaining tickets are available at isabellalovestory.com.

Vanity is a definitive artistic statement of a sophomore album for Isabella, praised by the likes of The FADER, NPR, Office Magazine, Remezcla and more. Isabella is breaking the mold as a multidisciplinary creative and interrogating the dualities of contemporary life as an artist -in the horror of beauty, the luxury of trashiness and the infinite portal embedded in a handheld mirror. “Each song is a different side of me dealing with vanity itself,” Isabella says of the album. “A haunted house of mirrors - where you can’t tell if the shine comes from diamonds or aluminum foil.”

With production assistance from frequent producers Chicken and Kamixlo, along with newcomer Mechatok and a guest appearance from Argentine rapper Taichu, Vanity is a chronology of the music touch points that are both dreamy and guttural. The melancholy of New Order is combined with the industrial rawness of Plan B - creating an unapologetic and fragile sense of debauchery and a sharp eye on the contemporary idea of beauty’s inevitable decay.

Watch the video for “Eurotrash” above, see below for the full run of Vanity World Tour dates and more album details, and stay tuned for more from Isabella coming very soon.

The Death of Lilies | New Project from She Wants Revenge's Adam Bravin & Saint Avangeline

THE DEATH OF LILIES

SHARE DEBUT SINGLE “SAVIOR” - LISTEN | WATCH

FROM NEW PROJECT FEATURING

ADAM BRAVIN (SHE WANTS REVENGE, PRINCE) & SAINT AVANGELINE

Today, The Death of Lilies – the new project from Adam Bravin (She Wants Revenge) and rising alternative songstress Saint Avangeline – share new single “Savior.” The powerful, dark and cinematic track is paired with a mysterious video – directed by Bravin and Ben Haslup – that follows Saint Avangeline on an epic journey towards finding her other musical half.

Listen to “Savior” HERE and watch the video here: https://youtu.be/moL8ohi9oKk

“‘Savior’ is about the complicated truth that sometimes the ones who need saving the most end up being the ones who save us,” notes Bravin. “It’s about the quiet strength found in vulnerability, the way pain, when faced, can turn into something powerful and transformative.”

He adds, telling Northern Transmissions, “The track was written as a theme for Arkhan the Cruel, a powerful and cinematic character from Dungeons and Dragons lore. There was something about Arkhan’s dark, unrelenting energy that shaped the entire sound. When Lily and I first started working together, I played it for her, and the spell that had captured me instantly captured her too. From there, we reshaped it together into something entirely our own."

WATCH & SHARE "SAVIOR"

The Death of Lilies channels the dark, seductive sounds of the past while forging a razor-edged path toward the future. The project blends Bravin’s signature ominous soundscapes with Lily’s haunting, ethereal vocals. Together, they create a sound that drags the shadowy corners of the goth club straight into the modern spotlight. From the first note, it’s clear this pairing was fated.

Bravin is known for his remarkable versatility, gaining recognition for his exceptional talent as a DJ including becoming the go-to DJ for legends like Prince, Dr. Dre and Stevie Wonder. His ability to blend genres seamlessly and create unforgettable musical experiences has also seen him launch iconic club nights like Giorgio’s at The Standard and more. His partnering  with childhood friend Justin Warfield for She Wants Revenge has also seen the pair achieve massive radio play, sold hundreds of thousands of records, and toured the world with bands like Depeche Mode, The Cure and Placebo, while headlining their own tours and festivals.

Merging ethereal with raw and unfiltered vocals, Saint Avangeline crafts a striking contrast that mirrors the depths of human emotion. Deeply rooted in her journey with mental health, domestic abuse and growing up queer, her songs offer an honest exploration of inner turmoil, rage, hope, and resilience. Over the course of two albums and several singles, the Atlanta-based artists has amassed a rabid fan base

Together, Adam Bravin and Saint Avangeline are The Death of Lilies, and the duo are gearing up for a full slate of singles, videos and live shows throughout 2025 and beyond. Look for more soon!

In Celebration of Rocky Horror Picture Show's 50th Anniversary, ROCKY HORROR: A Behind The Scenes Look At The Cult Classic

MICK ROCK’S ROCKY HORROR: A Behind the Scenes Look at the Cult Classic
A Never-Before-Seen Visual Celebration of Cinema’s Wildest Icon

Harper/Pop: On sale September 30th; 256 pages, 4-color throughout

“The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a totally unique phenomenon; there’s nothing even to compare it to. It occupies its own unchallenged space in the history of modern popular culture.” - Mick Rock
“This book was created in conversation with Mick - his eye present in every photograph, his spirit guiding the choices along the way. I believe he would be proud to see how his art, his memories, and the voices of those he photographed continue to speak here.” - Pati Rock As The Rocky Horror Picture Show prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary this fall, legendary photographer Mick Rock‘s (1948–2021) long-lost archives are being unveiled in ROCKY HORROR: A Behind the Scenes Look at the Cult Classic (HarperPop; on sale September 30, 2025; 256 pages, 4-color throughout, $50.00; ISBN 9780063385689). This electrifying volume brings together rarely-seen photographs and intimate behind-the-scenes moments, offering fans the ultimate visual time capsule of the film that redefined camp, glam, and queerness on screen. Best known as “the man who shot the seventies” through his iconic images of David BowieLou ReedQueenBlondie, and Iggy Pop, Rock was the only photographer invited on set of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Director Jim Sharman and writer Richard O’Brien gave him total freedom to roam Bray Studios, where over six weeks he captured Tim Curry’s transformation into the deliciously unhinged Frank-N-FurterSusan Sarandon’s ingénue wide eyes, and the joyful chaos that would eventually birth a global midnight movie phenomenon. “Frank-N-Furter, mad scientist, self-obsessed, narcissistic exhibitionist, obviously adores to be admired, and for him the seductive clicking shutter of a Hasselblad camera was like a bell to Pavlov’s dogs…” - Richard O’Brien, from the book’s foreword.  DOWNLOAD ALL HI-RES ART HERE
Though the film famously flopped upon release, Rocky Horror went on to gross nearly $225 million and earn the distinction of being the longest-running theatrical release in history, thanks to its raucous midnight screenings. More than a movie, it became a movement — a communal ritual of fishnets, call-backs, and liberation that continues to ripple through fashionnightlife, and music culture. From Vivienne Westwood’s SEX boutique to RuPaul’s Drag Race, the film’s unapologetic celebration of queerness and nonconformity endures. This book captures that spirit at its source. Rock’s images — equal parts glitter, horror, and punk prophecy — immortalize the very moments where underground cinema became a beacon of self-invention. Interwoven with his photographs are cast interviews, Mick’s own notes, rare production ephemera, and reflections from an all-star roster of Rocky devotees: Joan JettBilly CorganCourtney LoveJuliette LewisJinkx MonsoonDuff McKaganAnna SuiKaren OBetsey JohnsonTrixie MattelPeachesNorman ReedusCassandra Peterson (Elvira, Mistress of the Dark), and many more.
ROCKY HORROR is more than a collector’s item — it is an homage to the world Mick Rock helped shape, a love letter to the midnight movie that blurred the lines between gender, performance, and spectacle, and a testament to the way one cult classic can forever alter the cultural landscape. “Maybe the strongest impression that these modest stills project is that, as Richard points out, everyone appears to be having such a good time. That also may partly account for the delightful potency of this celluloid classic. It’s a privilege to have been of service to such a legendary piece of art.” - Mick Rock
Mick’s archive continues to shape the visual DNA of rock ’n’ roll, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show marks one of his most vibrant, playful, and timeless contributions. The book release coincides with special exhibitions in New York and Los Angeles — the latter aligning with Mick Rock’s birthday. These events will showcase rare prints, unseen contact sheets, and feature appearances from collaborators and cultural icons who continue to carry Rocky’s torch. "If Gary Numan, Kevin Parker, and Portishead got in a studio together,

they might come up with something like ‘Mercury.’" – Paste Magazine

On their new album Is it Now?Automatic demands we look at the world’s oppressive structures with fresh urgency. On new track “Lazy, out now, the trio of Izzy Glaudini (synths, vocals), Halle Saxon (bass, vocals) and Lola Dompé (drums, vocals) blend elements of new wave, post-punk, and spacey trip-hop.

Listen / Share: “Lazy”

On Is It Now?, Automatic uses perky minimalist grooves and pop melodies as a Trojan horse to wheel in political commentary about automated warfare, mindless consumerism (as on the previously released title track), or the political influence of oil. On “Lazy” they turn their attention to the early days of a relationship plagued by self-doubt and overthinking. The lyrics address a love interest and take back power: “The thing you thought you wanted / Was just the image of control”.

Working with a producer for the first time, Loren Humphrey (Arctic Monkeys, Nice As Fuck, Cameron Winter), and balancing solo lives and varying temperaments, Automatic recorded Is It Now? in New York and L.A. They cast their net of influences wider, too, nodding to longtime favourite Patrick Cowley as well as A Certain Ratio, Air, and the moment in late-1970s British music when dub collided with punk.

“Lazy” might be a love song – or an anti-love song – but like all Automatic songs, its message comes with a healthy dose of dark humor and a swing in its step.

Since their last record, 2022’s Excess, Automatic toured with Tame Impala, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Marías and IDLES. The band hits the road once again for a co-headlining tour with Sextile this fall. Is It Now? is out September 26th on Stones Throw.

Charlatans UK Share New Video; Dev Hynes Co-Produced Album Out Oct 31th

THE CHARLATANS UK SHARE VIDEO FOR SINGLE, "WE ARE LOVE" - WATCH

FRED MACPHERSON AND STEPHEN STREET

WE ARE LOVE ARRIVES OCTOBER 31, 2025 VIA BMG

The Charlatans UK shared a video for their current single, "We Are Love." Last month, the band kicked off a new era with the news of their 14th studio album, We Are Love, out Friday, October 31, via BMG.

"We Are Love" is a celebratory statement of intent, an urgent, limber, clattering love song to the human race. Propelled forward by driving drums and anthemic guitar, frontman Tim Burgess describes it as "like an open-top car ride in the credits of your favorite movie, driving along the coast to somewhere amazing."

One of the first tracks to emerge as they were writing, it became a pathfinder for the record, as guitarist Mark Collins explains: "Early on, we thought it felt right. And it turned out that way: first single, title track, second song on the album. And things started forming around 'We Are Love.' There was a certain energy to it that drove us forward.”

One of the best-loved UK bands of the last four decades, The Charlatans UK's career spans 13 albums, 22 Top 40 UK singles, three Number One UK albums and era-defining anthems like "The Only One I Know," "North Country Boy" and "One to Another" – We Are Love launches a bold new era, one that finds them at peace with their past whilse looking forward to a bright future.

An eight-year gap between albums is the longest ever for one of the UK’s most enduring bands. A combination of covid, solo projects, life’s complexities and the fact that its five members - Tim Burgess (vocals) Martin Blunt (bass), Mark Collins (guitar), Tony Rogers (keyboards) and Pete Salisbury (drums) - live scattered across Europe, meant that it took longer than usual for the stars to align at the right place, right time, right vibe. They took the time to carefully select a recording A-team of production duo Dev Hynes (aka Blood Orange and Lightspeed Champion) and Fred Macpherson (Spector, Rachel Chinouriri, Jessica Winter, Taahliah), plus legendary producer Stephen Street (The Smiths, Blur, The Cranberries), alongside a list of engineers, mixers and collaborators that reads like a who’s who of alt rock greatness. The result has been well worth the wait.

Recorded at two places that are totemic in The Charlatans UK's history - Rockfield in Wales and their own Big Mushroom space in Middlewich, Cheshire - Burgess cites hauntology and psychogeography as two concepts that swirled in his head as the band dug into the album making. For one thing, their return to storied farm studio Rockfield for the first time in almost 30 years, since they made their fifth album Tellin’ Stories, was an important step. As a band, they hadn’t been there since keyboard player Rob Collins was killed, in the middle of that album’s sessions, in a car crash at the bottom of the track leading to the farm. Throughout the record, you can hear The Charlatans UK's awareness of the stuff that’s made them – the highs and the lows; the desire to honor their own mighty legacy, whilst not being defined by it; a career-long drive to be progressive and innovative.

“The whole idea of hauntology and psychogeography is represented by us going back to Rockfield, where so much history has happened for The Charlatans," says Burgess. "That was important as a way of honoring every member who's played in the band. So we’re honouring ourselves, our past, feeling that energy and reincarnating it, doing something fresh, brand new.”

This introspection brought home the fact that love is the glue that has held The Charlatans UK together for so long, and that’s reflected in the 11 tracks that make up this forward-thinking, future-facing album. Alongside the album announcement, The Charlatans UK have also shared plans for a December UK tour, playing headline shows in Leeds, Stoke, Bath, London, Manchester, and Glasgow.
