googly eyes, Tove Lo and Flume team up for "I Don't Go Out" - out on Pretty Swede Records / Neon Gold Records

googly eyes
RELEASES “I DON’T GO OUT” FROM NEW PROJECT
CREATED IN COLLABORATION WITH TOVE LO AND FLUME

OUT ON PRETTY SWEDE / NEON GOLD RECORDS HERE
+ VISUALIZER HERE

Today, rising electronic pop auteur googly eyes returns with “I Don’t Go Out”, the first track from her forthcoming project created entirely in collaboration with Tove Lo and Flume. Co-written by all three artists, it’s an otherworldly masterclass of future pop perfection, a going out club record for those who want nothing more than to stay at home with their person. The song arrives accompanied by a visualizer here, directed by Maya Sassoon.

In September of 2023, Tove Lo and Flume posted an artist development open call out to new artists on instagram, and after receiving and reviewing thousands of demos, googly eyes emerged as the dream artist for the opportunity. Now nearly two years on, the fruits of their collaboration bear fruit on “I Don’t Go Out” ahead of a full forthcoming collaborative EP.

Sitting somewhere between alternative pop and electronic indie, googly eyes delivers glitchy, technicolor, poetic songs of the heart – all 100% written, recorded and produced entirely on her own to this point, best illustrated on googs’ 2024 debut Starlet EP and its breakout singles “Mid-Leap”, “Internet Star” and “Waste of Conversation”. As an artist, songwriter, and producer, googly eyes lives in a sonic world entirely of her own making. With a focus on vocal production, electronic influences, and poetic lyricism, googs paints vivid soundscapes blending raw, human elements with angular, synthetic ones. What began as a project for demos and works in progress has grown into a force of creativity, rich innovation and play.

“I Don’t Go Out” marks googly eyes’ latest release on Pretty Swede Records, an independent label founded in 2022 by Tove Lo. To date, Pretty Swede has released Tove’s 2023 LP Dirt Femme and her collaborative 2024 HEAT EP with SG Lewis. googly eyes’ Starlet EP marked the first release by Pretty Swede outside of Tove’s own artist project.

Pretty Swede have signed googly eyes in collaboration with Tove’s longtime collaborators Neon Gold, themselves known for a star-studded history of debut releases, from Tove’s own Truth Serum EP in 2014 (featuring “Habits”) to iconic early releases from Charli XCX, Marina & The Diamonds, Christine and the Queens, Ellie Goulding and more.

About “I Don’t Go Out”, googs says: “It’s a pretty surreal moment releasing a song I made with Tove Lo and Flume - especially since it’s my first time opening my world to collaborators. I Don’t Go Out is lovestruck, tender, and for anyone who’s happiest to be in bed by 9pm with their person. It taps into two things I circle back to constantly: my instinct to retreat from the noise, and my deep, uncomplicated love for my partner. I feel really lucky to have a love like that, and to be making music about it with two artists I’ve admired for years.”

Audrey Hobert's debut album "Who's the Clown?" out now, plus "Thirst Trap" official video

AUDREY HOBERT’S DEBUT ALBUM  WHO’S THE CLOWN?  OUT NOWUNVEILS NEW SELF-DIRECTED VIDEO FOR “THIRST TRAP”  Press photo, credit Kyle Berger August 15, 2025— Who’s the Clown? , the highly-anticipated debut album from Audrey Hobert, is out today via RCA Records—listen  here . The official, self-directed music video for “Thirst Trap” also premieres today—watch  here . The album and its singles “ Sue me ,” “ Bowling alley ,” and “ Wet Hair ” are already receiving enthusiastic critical acclaim: “Who’s the Clown? marks a thrilling debut from one of pop’s sharpest up-and-coming stars, filled with synth-heavy bangers, heartbreaking glossy hooks, and introspective, revealing acoustic gems about desire and moving on…Hobert has asserted her place as one of pop’s great new voices.”— Rolling Stone “As a listener, it often feels like you're playing catchup, laughing a beat behind while she's moved on to her next epiphany…Who's The Clown? is a one-woman show of sorts, a peek into Hobert's colorful, wacky world.”— NPR “With ‘Sue me,’ Hobert hits a home run right out the gate, a fearless, capital-P pop song that will be stuck in your head all summer…It’s not Audrey Hobert Summer. It’s Audrey Hobert’s World…she, even one song in, has already established what will soon become known as the Audrey Hobert touch: straightforward, arresting lyrics (a throwback to her anti-poetry days) that don’t take themselves too seriously.”— NYLON “Even the album’s construction mimics theater: Hobert outlines her lyrics like monologues, editing them for clarity and rhythm until the story and melody lock into place.”— W Magazine “While stans across the internet are scavenging for this year’s song of the summer, Audrey makes a stellar case with ‘Sue me’ and its self-directed music video. The buzzing indie sleaze-influenced production bridged with Audrey’s careless confessionals are giving pop the fresh take it’s been craving.”— Cosmopolitan “While Hobert wears her heart on her sleeve (with a dry sense of humor) when it comes to penning songs, she is admittedly a little nervous about her ex-boyfriend hearing the songs she’s written about him, which happen to already be released — ‘Sue me’ and ‘Wet Hair.’ ‘I feel pretty bad sometimes late at night, but not really besides that,’ she deadpans.”People Magazine Fans have eagerly anticipated a full-length project after the breakout success of Audrey’s debut single, “Sue me.” Delivered with a self-directed video seen over 850,000 times, the song has been streamed more than 33 million times worldwide and has seen explosive viral success in the weeks since release. Audrey’s run of live debuts in June saw sold-out nights in New York, Los Angeles and London.Audrey has been hard at work on her own music for the past year with production partner Ricky Gourmet. Who’s the Clown? represents Audrey’s exploration of her own creative vision, as it is the first collection of songs that she ever wrote for herself. The album’s cover and title came to her upon waking up one early morning, and the rest was created over long hours spent at her desk, in the Notes app of her phone, on a walk, or at a coffee shop table.A lifelong singer, musical theatre devotee and dancer, Audrey got her first taste of songwriting when childhood best friend and then-roommate Gracie Abrams pulled Audrey into the making of her album, The Secret of Us. Together, they wrote some of Gracie’s standouts like “I Love You, I’m Sorry” and “Risk”—for which Audrey directed the music videos—as well as current global hit “That’s So True.” Following that project, she signed a publishing deal which put on pause her plans to pursue TV writing. As she began writing, she realized the music was undeniably her own, and the project was born. Today, it’s yours, too.AUDREY HOBERT—WHO’S THE CLOWN? Album art, credit Lenne Chai 1. KEINEMUSIK & SEVDALIZA RELEASE TENDER “SEE YOU AGAIN”

KEINEMUSIK & SEVDALIZA RELEASE TENDER AND WISTFUL
SONIC EXPLORATION “SEE YOU AGAIN” HERE

It truly has been quite the year for Keinemusik - after playing their biggest New York headline show to date in a 40,000 densely-packed sold out Flushing Meadows Corona Park, the next single “See You Again” from the crew drops just in time to keep that unforgettable magic around for a little longer. “See You Again“ features Dutch-Iranian songstress and avant-garde icon, Sevdaliza, who imbues the track with its unmistakably emotive depth. For Sevdaliza, this comes on the heels of the announcement of her highly anticipated forthcoming album Heroina, due later this year.

The tender and wistful lyrics anchored on yearning and hope lend themselves to a like-minded production that merges warmth and introspection, making for elegant peaktime energy. “See You Again” is a sonic exploration of feminine power, cultural identity, and spiritual survival.

Since its debut play at Coachella 2025, “See You Again” has been a staple ID at Keinemusik shows and is out to see you again and again and again on your nearest dancefloor.

Last May, their previous release, “Crazy For It,” emerged from a collaboration with the boundary-defying Boys Noize and angelic vocal-performance by Vinson, partially conjured in Berlin and partially within the walls of Shangri-La Studios in Malibu — a place where musical alchemy and myth are etched into the walls.

ABOUT KEINEMUSIK:
Keinemusik has been around since 2009. It has been naming an existing friendship and linked interests of the four members – Rampa, &ME, Adam Port, and Reznik. A more or less constant count of five releases per year have been released ever since, solely laid down by members of the crew. And a considerable count of label-parties went down, not only in Berlin, but around all international focal points for electronic music. And surely, there’s plenty more where those came from. So see you soon in a record store or on a dancefloor in your area!

Keinemusik is a network with the label as the pulse pumping centre. Driven particularly by the spirit that moves the collective behind the imprint. The spirit to find your own agenda and let nobody get in the way. The spirit of refining House and Techno off the beaten path. Be it within their own tracks, within productions of other sorts or DJ-sets. The spirit of recall value within record- and flyer-artworks and everything intermediate in word and image surrounding releases and parties. And the spirit of diversification – Rampa’s effect-gadget-venture TEILE being one example. Keinemusik’s own booking department, ‘Worldwide Dancing Club’, established in 2018, being another.

ABOUT SEVDALIZA:
SEVDALIZA, the Iranian-born, Dutch-raised multidisciplinary artist, is celebrated for her genre-defying music and artistic versatility. With over 1.5 billion career streams, she rose to critical acclaim with the groundbreaking albums ISON (2017) and Shabrang (2020). Her 2024 single "Alibi" became a global sensation, topping Shazam's Song of the Summer chart, ranking as TikTok’s #3 global song of the year, and marking Sevdaliza’s first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. That year also saw her make her U.S. television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and perform at Rock in Rio alongside Karol G. Known for collaborations with Grimes, Anitta, Tiësto, and Tokischa and more, Sevdaliza’s artistry transcends music, extending into haute couture, where she’s walked in Paris Fashion Week for Y/Project and Iris Van Herpen, and graced campaigns and covers for prestigious publications including international editions of Elle and Harper’s Bazaar. An advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and marginalized communities, Sevdaliza’s multilingual fluency and diverse cultural background make her a unique global voice, blending music, fashion, technology, and social activism.

PILE RELEASE NEW ALBUM 'SUNSHINE AND BALANCE BEAMS'

PILE RELEASE NEW ALBUM SUNSHINE AND BALANCE BEAMS

WATCH THE VIDEO FOR “DEEP CLAY”

(Credit: Mark Lapriore and Jack Ramsdell)

The Boston band’s ninth album restores its former post-hardcore roar while folding in strings and pockets of tenderness that suit the songs’ mournful mood. - PITCHFORK

“This is a pivotal moment for Pile, creating an epic that centers around creative existentialism.” - Stereogum (Album of the Week)

This record is exemplary of the sound Pile has created over the years - NPR

Boston DIY stalwarts Pile have released their ninth album, Sunshine and Balance Beams, their first with Sooper Records. The album is about the journey toward acceptance: of oneself, one’s environment, and one’s limits. Rick Maguire, the founder of the band, explains, “I’ve used ambition and daydreaming as a motivator for as long as I can remember, and I still do. The fulfillment I receive from pursuing art has been a guiding force for me, but it can be damaging when that pursuit teases capitalist expectations of where you might be able to go and then doesn’t square with the reality that follows. I tried to write this as a story.”

Over the past 15 years and eight albums, Pile has undoubtedly established themselves as this generation’s Fugazi, building a discography and tour history deeply rooted in DIY ethos. That spirit remains, but on Sunshine and Balance Beams, the band pushes into new sonic territory, enlisting engineer Miranda Serra (Kal Marks, Kira McSpice), mixer Seth Manchester (Model/Actriz, The Hotelier, Big Brave), and mastering engineer Matt Colton (James Blake, Depeche Mode, Band Bear). The album release arrives with a video for “Deep Clay,” directed by Stafen Fernandez, who directed three of the four videos for the campaign. The video was inspired by Dennis Hopper's Easy Rider, Ingmar Bergman's Persona, and Andrei Tarkovsky's Solaris.

They also recently announced their performance for Levitation Festival in Austin, TX, as well as shows in Paris and Switzerland. The Technicolors are here for the let down on "Alpha Alpha Alpha"

THE TECHNICOLORS ARE HERE FOR

THE LET DOWN ON BLOWN OUT NEW TRACK

“ALPHA ALPHA ALPHA” — STREAM

FINAL SINGLE BEFORE NEW ALBUM

HEAVY PULP ARRIVES ON AUGUST 29

VIA SOUNDON — PRE-SAVE

ALBUM RELEASE SHOWS IN LA, PHOENIX & NYC

JUST WEEKS AWAY — TICKETS

Press photo by Eric Halvorsen

“‘Heavy Pulp’ is bursting with detail: you can dip in at any point and it'll be seconds until you're greeted with a catchy hook. If the album mimics any hormone, Serotonin is the one…”

“Excitingly, this is just the beginning for your favorite new playlist additions, as these bangers will all appear on Heavy Pulp…”

“The Technicolors must be heard to be believed…”

For those who prefer their juice with Heavy Pulp, rock band The Technicolors today release one more single, “Alpha Alpha Alpha,” ahead of their new album. Arriving on August 29 via SoundOn, Heavy Pulp is the type of album that doesn't cut one single corner. A band forged by a decade and a half out on the road with various projects, The Technicolors took their time putting together a sonically massive album, that drips with the confidence of knowing exactly who they are — Pre-save

“Alpha Alpha Alpha” is a shot of adrenaline that takes a jab at the narcissistic. It’s calculated, yet frantic, and propelled forward by a raunchy, muddled guitar tone. With the album just two weeks away, every knob on the board is dialed all the way up — Stream

Guitarist Sean Silverman said, “‘Alpha Alpha Alpha’ was born after a late night in Nashville. Brennan and I stumbled onto this wild, urgent riff — relentless, fast, and unhinged — that we couldn’t put down. We started building a little character around it, leaning into the theme of machismo or the genuine lack there of and letting that energy drive the song. It became one of those raw bursts of inspiration that helped jump-start the writing process after we’d been sitting with some of the earlier ideas. It's one of my favorites off of the new record.”

So far from the album, the band has released “Posh Spice,” “Softcore,” “Gold Fang” and “First Class to Nowhere” featuring Madison Cunningham. Each song in a different universe from the last, The Technicolors are leaving fans to guess what the entire LP will sound like. Heavy Pulp could not have taken shape without the production talent of GRAMMY-nominated Robert Adam Stevenson (Queens of the Stone Age, The Kills) and BRONCHO’s Nathan Price on drums. The Technicolors’ Brennan Smiley is currently out on the road playing guitar in BRONCHO on their Natural Pleasure Tour and Sean Silverman is on a world tour with his other band Beach Weather.

Along with the release of Heavy Pulp, The Technicolors will play a string of album release shows in Los Angeles, their hometown of Phoenix, and New York City. Each show will be supported by Jo Alice. Tickets for all three shows are available here.

DAG OCH NATT: Swedish band release debut album 'Years And Years' today via Labrador Records - listen in full now.

DAG OCH NATT- Debut album 'Years And Years'
  out TODAY via Labrador Records!
- Listen in full here
"One of those moments that raises the stakes, that redefines the scope of the project, such is the sweep of it all... 'Tunis' [is] a spiralling, brooding track that indeed seems to shift from light to dark, day to night, as it grows towards its completely gripping final few minutes." - Gold Flake Paint
"Hugely promising, offering slow-paced indie pop infused with dappled sunlight." - Clash
"Shimmering with jangly guitars, hushed percussion and soaring vocal harmonies... captures the Stockholm-based group’s gift for crafting atmosphere with delicate precision." - Record of the Day
Today Dag och Natt release their remarkable debut album 'Years And Years' via Labrador Records - listen in full here.

Dag och Natt is a band from Stockholm, Sweden, whose music finds a delicate balance between density and lightness. Intricately layered melodies flow together fluidly, creating a sense of emotional movement. “We like to work with layers of melodies that live side by side,” the band explains. “They don’t fight for space – instead they support each other and know when to step forward or stay in the background, so the full picture becomes stronger.”

The three women at the heart of Dag och Natt – Elia Mårtensson Almegård, Maja Zetterberg, and Sara Engström – each take turns as vocalists, bringing shifting tone and texture to the music. Together with drummer Lars Blume Jensen, they craft songs that feel intuitive and lived-in, shaped by deep trust and a shared creative rhythm.

The band’s name, Dag och Natt (Day and Night), was chosen intentionally, reflecting their desire to explore emotional duality – the interplay between light and dark – through sound. Initially, the band considered forming two separate projects – one light and one dark – with the same members. However, they soon abandoned that concept in favor of bringing everything together under the name Dag och Natt.

Their debut album, 'Years and Years', is a collection of songs shaped by time and experience. “The title reflects the emotions and stories that have shaped us over the years,” they say. “It’s a way of capturing all that we've been through, and how it’s come together in the music.”

Themes of duality run throughout the record – joy and struggle, brightness and shadow, strength and vulnerability, connection and isolation, mirroring the interplay between day and night. “We live in a very individualistic society, where being alone is often seen as something strong,” they explain. “Many of the songs touch on the feeling of being together versus being alone, and how we sometimes shape our lives based on our own insecurities.”

Love, too, is central to the album – love for the people closest to us, the fear of losing them, and the quiet ways we carry one another through life. “Even if it’s not one clear story, there’s definitely a red thread in the lyrics – a mix of thoughts and emotions that connect the songs.”

'Years and Years' was recorded at their friend Mark’s home studio in the Swedish countryside. Drums were tracked behind shower doors, and most vocals were captured in Maja’s closet, surrounded by her collection of beautiful dresses. The result is a record that feels both grounded and expansive, marked by intimacy and openness.

At its core, 'Years and Years' is a record about time, tenderness, and truth. It’s a reflection on what lingers—memories, fears, moments of closeness—and how those fragments shape us. Through layered melodies and unguarded lyrics, Dag och Natt offer a debut that’s both deeply personal and quietly universal: a soundtrack for feeling your way through the dark, together.

Justine Skye shares new "Bitch In Ibiza" Kito remix

JUSTINE SKYE TURNS UP THE HEAT WITH KITO’S PULSATING “BITCH IN IBIZA” REMIX

“Bitch In Ibiza” Kito remix

https://justineskye.lnk.to/BIIKitoRemix

(Aug 15, 2025) - Justine Skye returns with a Kito remix of her latest single "Bitch In Ibiza." Referencing the iconic Spanish island that has served as the dance music mecca of the world for decades, Kito reworks the single for an uptempo dance number. Listen HERE via Warner Records.

The remix follows Justine Skye’s KAYTRANADA-produced single "Oh Lala," which provided a first glimpse of her forthcoming project that sees Justine diving headlong into the intersection of dance and R&B music, which she's built her name on. The release of "Oh Lala" has been brought to life across a variety of performances at Pride events in June -- with Kito in Los Angeles, with Alex Chapman during his set at LadyLand in New York, and a handful of performances alongside KAYTRANADA, who recently released his own remix of the song.

Aside from her vibrant releases and live appearances, the actress and singer continued her advocacy for transforming mental health norms among 14 - 25 year olds at Active Mind’s Mental Health Conference in Washington D.C. as a keynote speaker, a cause that remains to her heart as an artist who catapulted to the world stage at just 17 years-old. “Speaking up about mental health isn’t a weakness—it’s a strength,” she shared in her speech. “[W]hen we open up, we not only heal ourselves—we inspire others to do the same.”

Listen to the Kito remix of "Bitch In Ibiza" above now and stay tuned for more from Justine Skye soon.

About Justine Skye:

You know of Justine Skye. If she wasn’t a fixture on your moodboard as you perused Tumblr in its heyday, you’ve seen her as Annika Longstreet on Grown-ish; you’ve heard her single “Collide” remixed across your short-form video platform of choice. Her R&B oeuvre has likely provided tender ambience in your most vulnerable periods of heartbreak. Certainly, you’ve known of her, but Justine Skye is no longer invested in public perception. Now, Justine Skye blisters with energy, ready to indulge—and to let others revel—in the fact that she finally knows herself.

Skye’s newest music signals an ecstatic, distinctly physical pivot towards artistic liberation by way of the dance floor. Skye evokes the kinesis of movement as if by muscle memory: sticky skin; heat lightning on a humid summer’s eve; languorous hours spent under relentless Mediterranean sun; cheeks that ache from laughter.

This uptempo, house-driven era is a glimmering nod to the long history of Black dance music—and years in the making for Skye. After signing a record deal in her adolescence, terminating it in favor of going independent, and eventually joining a new creative team spearheaded by Jahleel Weaver, she arrives at a personal and artistic crux. What emerges is the sonic approximation of a thrumming, glistening heartbeat: frenetic, proud, strong, and devilishly danceable.

Above all, Justine is having fun. She knows intimately the feeling of bodily catharsis by the hand of a great DJ. Justine poses a challenge to her listeners: Come with me and dance. I know you feel it too.

Notable 2025 performers included the likes of St. Vincent, Benjamin Gibbard, DIIV, Danny Brown, Lankum, Cymande, and Geographer, along with multi-night concerts from Earl Sweatshirt, American Football, Soccer Mommy, The American Analog Set, and more.

“As we look ahead to 2026, we’re building on the momentum of an unforgettable 2025 edition that pushed the fest to even grander and more creative heights with special sets from St. Vincent and Ben Gibbard at Grace Cathedral, the successful launch of SF Music Week, and a ton of other events,” said Kevin Arnold, founder of Noise Pop Festival. “Our mission remains the same as it has since 1993 – create a platform to showcase both world-class and emerging artists while celebrating the diverse, vibrant, and independent arts community of the Bay Area.”

Each February, Noise Pop Festival transforms San Francisco into a citywide celebration of music, art, and culture, with dozens of concerts and events taking place across the Bay Area’s most iconic venues and neighborhood spaces. Festival-goers enjoy access to an expansive schedule of live performances, happy hours, art shows, panel discussions, and exclusive after-parties, making it the ultimate “choose-your-own-adventure” for modern-day music lovers.

Heralded as one of America’s premier independently-owned music festivals, the multi-venue, multi-day celebration will soon welcome an impressive variety of artists spanning numerous musical genres.

While the first phase of the 2026 music lineup will be announced later this year, fans once again look forward to the festival’s signature mix of acclaimed national touring acts performing their classic hits, rare pop-ups, anniversary performances, and more, alongside beloved Bay Area favorites, immersive cultural events, interactive brand activations, and community-driven programming.

JAZZ PASSENGERS Release Iconic Album IN LOVE For First Time Digitally - SEPTEMBER 19th 2025

Cult Classic Album

In Love by Jazz Passengers

Arrives on Streaming for the First Time

September 19, 2025

Featuring Jeff Buckley, Debbie Harry, Mavis Staples, Little Jimmy Scott, and More

NEW YORK, NY – August 14, 2025 – For the first time since its release over three decades ago, the landmark 1994 album In Love by the legendary Jazz Passengers will be available on all major streaming platforms beginning September 19, 2025
An eccentric, genre-defying gem from New York’s downtown scene, In Love is a wild, heartfelt, and often hilarious collaboration that brought together an extraordinary lineup of musical icons. Featuring rare studio performances by Jeff Buckley, Debbie Harry, Mavis Staples, Little Jimmy Scott, Freedy Johnston, Bob Dorough, Marc Ribot, and produced by the late Hal Willner, the album remains a cult favorite among adventurous music lovers.
Until now, In Love has only existed in physical form, traded lovingly by diehard fans and collectors. This fall, the album gets a long-overdue digital rebirth, making its rich tapestry of avant-jazz, soul, cabaret, and experimental pop accessible to a new generation of listeners.
Roy Nathanson, co-founder and saxophonist of Jazz Passengers, recalls the project as “one of those very few times in my life when I knew I was involved in something truly magical.” “By 1994, the Passengers had been a kind of simpatico, improvising machine for about six years, but we’d never landed a deal with a major label,” he explains. “When my good friend Bob Appel suggested we do a vocal record with special guests and asked if I could get Hal [Willner] to produce it, I said—great idea! Hal began gathering these amazing singers while I started writing songs with Ray Dobbins and David Cale, and suddenly the album started to take shape. Some songs were written with specific vocalists in mind—‘Dog in Sand’ for Debbie Harry, for instance—while others, like ‘Kidnapped,’ didn’t find their singer until Hal brought in Mavis Staples. Curtis [Fowlkes] composed ‘Jolly Street,’ and Ray and I wrote lyrics once we knew Jeff Buckley would sing it.”
“As the sessions unfolded, this transformative energy built around the project,” Nathanson continues. “By the time we recorded ‘Imitation of a Kiss’ with Jimmy Scott, it was electric—goosebumps. Every session had its own energy. The singers and the songs were perfectly matched, and it was all filled with love. Everyone involved—the Jazz Passengers, the guests, the producers—was, quite literally, in love. You can hear it. That’s why it always felt tragic that this record was unavailable for so long. To finally release it now—well, I just can’t tell you how happy that makes me.”
Bob Appel, Executive Producer, “After so many years of being unavailable, a new audience will get to hear Jazz Passengers' masterpiece In Love. Every member participating in beautiful writing. Guest vocalist like Debbie Harry, Jeff Buckley, Mavis Staples and many others turned in performances of a lifetime outside of their usual genres. There are lyrical gems that belong in the great American songbook. And all of this orchestrated by the masterful project production of the very missed Hal Wilner. Roy Nathanson and Jazz Passengers deserve another look as a leading ensemble of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
Guitarist and composer, Marc Ribot, who contributed to the album, adds: “There are records that document history, and then there are records that create their own world. In Love does both. Playing on it felt like stepping into a surrealist jazz cabaret run by geniuses and madmen. I’ve never heard anything quite like it, before or since.”
Jazz Passengers are revered for their boundary-pushing compositions and theatrical flair. In Love captures the group at their creative peak, assembling an ensemble that defies category while remaining unmistakably New York.
 Streaming Debut: September 19, 2025

Montreal singer-songwriter Pompey is set to share his new single "I'm Scared" on August 22nd, the title track from his upcoming LP out September 15th. He recently posted a snippet/teaser of the track on TikTok, which earned over 3.5 million views within five days. Another teaser of the track was posted and reached 1.8 million views, making this one of Pompey's most anticipated releases to date. The track has yet to even be released and is already resonating widely, be sure to keep an eye out for Pompey this year.

Today, Pompey has also announced his record release show at this year's Pop Montreal. It will take place on September 27th at La Sala Rossa with support from Fanclubwallet, Katy Pinke, and Cedric Noel.

Pompey has been a fixture on the Montreal music scene since 2012, mainly playing as a musician for artists such as Thanya Iyer, Emilie Kahn, Eve Parker Finley, Common Holly, and more. His fourth full length LP, I’m Scared, is a culmination of songs written in the aftermath of isolation, focusing on themes such as fear, togetherness, comfort and anxiety. The writing process of the LP was a time of exploring and indulgence of his own fear, but with the completion of the new record, Pompey is ready to let that fear go.

The album was co-produced by Pompey and Thanya Iyer, and engineered, mixed, and mastered by Pompey. It features Cedric Noel on drums and backing vocals, Thanya Iyer on violin, backing vocals, piano and synth, Emilie Kahn and Brigitte Naggar on backing vocals, Eric Maillet on drums, and Zach Bachand on acoustic guitar.

New single "I'm Scared" is August 22nd. Upcoming LP I'm Scared is out September 15th.

Pompey is a singer-songwriter who has been a fixture on the Montreal music scene since 2012 mainly as a side musician for artists such as Thanya Iyer, Emilie Kahn, Eve Parker Finley, Common Holly and others. More recently, Pompey’s own music has found it’s own way into the spotlight through posting super personal and relatable snippets of songs to social media. What started as a way to fill the show-shaped hole in Pompey’s life, brought on by the pandemic, has turned into an opportunity to connect to people all over the world who relate and find comfort in the shared experience of living in an imperfect body with an imperfect mind. Pompey’s music is as hopeful as it is sad and as optimistic as it is a realistic depiction of life in 2025. I’m Scared will be Pompey’s 4th full-length album since 2020. When performing live, the band consists of Thanya Iyer and Emilie Kahn both on bass and Cedric Noel on drums.
