MS MR ANNOUNCE FIRST HEADLINING NORTH AMERICAN TOUR

(New York, NY; Columbia Records; June 25th, 2013) – New York City based duo MS MR will embark on their first North American headline tour this fall in support of their critically-acclaimed, debut album Secondhand Rapture . The tour will start September 16 in Montreal and will take the band across the U.S. with stops in Philadelphia, New York City, Boston, Minneapolis, Chicago, and Los Angeles (full list of dates below). Additionally, the duo will hit the global festival circuit this summer with performances at Glastonbury, Splendour in the Grass, Lollapalooza, Rock En Seine, Outside lands and Austin City Limits.
MS MR made their late night television debut last month with a performance of their single “Hurricane” on the Late Show With David Letterman. The band performed “Hurricane” along with the rest of Secondhand Rapture on their recent west coast run opening for CSS. MS MR’s debut album Secondhand Rapture is comprised of 12 sweeping tracks cholk-full of the duo’s compelling blend of cinematic pop. The duo was recently inducted into MTV’s ‘Artist To Watch’ spotlight series, named as one of The Guardian’s ‘One to Watch’ and noted by Teen Vogue as the “next big musical duo.” MS MR’s debut album includes the previously released track “Bones,” which was prominently featured in the Game Of Thrones season trailer. Produced by Max Hershenow, with additional production and mix by Tom Elmhirst, the duo co-wrote Secondhand Rapture over the course of 2011 in Brooklyn, NY.

In 2010, with Le Tigre on hiatus, Kathleen began to build her dream team with whom she recorded The Julie Ruin debut album. A celebrated, outspoken figure at the forefront of feminist punk, Kathleen Hanna has collaborated on The Riot Grrrl Collection book and today Sundance Selects announced that they have acquired North American rights to Sini Anderson’s punk rock documentaryTHE PUNK SINGER. Hanna, lead singer of the punk band Bikini Kill and dance-punk trio Le Tigre, rose to national attention as the voice of the riot grrrl movement, but when she stopped shouting, many wondered why. Through 20 years of archival footage and intimate interviews with Kathleen Hanna, THE PUNK SINGER offers viewers a never-before-seen view into the life of this fearless leader.
The Julie Ruin features Kathi Wilcox on bass (Bikini Kill bandmate), Kenny Mellman on keys (’Kiki and Herb’), Carmine Covelli on drums (actor, filmmaker and musical juggernaut) & Sara Landeau on guitar (met Kathleen mentoring at Rock Camp for Girls.)

June 25, 2013 -- San Francisco, CA - Outside Lands organizers announce that a limited amount of Single-Day GA and Single-Day VIP tickets to the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival will go on sale Wednesday, June 26 at 10am PDT via www.SFOutsidelands.com. The world's only gourmet music festival that Rolling Stone called "one of America's best," will once again take place in San Francisco's historic Golden Gate Park August 9 - 11, 2013. A significant portion of every ticket sold will directly benefit San Francisco's Recreation and Park Department.
The single-day artist lineups have been confirmed -- the full breakdown is below. Friday features the legendary Paul McCartney closing out the evening, as well as Pretty Lights, The National and D'Angelo, who is back after taking a 12-year break from the stage. Saturday includes one of the first performances by Nine Inch Nails since their 2009 tour, and also features Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Jurassic 5. The Red Hot Chili Peppers will cap off the festival weekend on Sunday, which also boasts sets by Kaskade, Vampire Weekend, Daryl Hall & John Oates and many more.
Outside Lands is also announcing additions to the 2013 lineup. Confirmed additions are Baauer, Rhye, Griz and Cherub. The DJ lineup for The Dome by Heineken has also been finalized with the following highlights including Stanton Warriors, The Plump DJ's, Krafty Kuts, DJ Pierre, Lazy Rich, Gene Farris, DJ Sam Spiegel (NASA) and much more.

Now Blunt shares a new song "Felony / Stalker 7" which builds thematically upon The Redeemer. Dean Blunt has also announced a very rare US performance which will take place on June 29th in Los Angeles with members of The South Central Gospel Choir backing him.
The Redeemer is a profound artistic statement as singular as it is somehow familiar, its strange, bruised grandeur rising from a disorientating swirl of contradictory emotion, the curse of love. Blunt evokes bygone memories, from first kisses to humiliation and heartache, be it as the heartbreaker or the heartbroken, and with the acknowledgement that sometimes the two can exist in the same person. This is undoubtedly Blunt's most romantic collection of compositions, but it's a love that dwells in nightmares as well as in dreams. The listener becomes the character in Blunt's unflattering romance, receiving scorned voicemail messages and whispers from lovers. Musically, the nineteen pieces found on The Redeemer are replete with vivid mosaics of sound and imagery: orchestral sonatas drift into ravaged 4am ballads and feral psychedelia, and Blunt comes clearly into frame as a songcrafter of poise and assurance. Sonically and lyrically, The Redeemer captures the essence of modern romance: delusional, infatuated and all-consuming.

LA sisters, Jennifer and Jessie Clavin match their ability to blend a mix of freewheeling '77 punk with vintage sunny Southern California melodic rock and roll; creating blindingly bright hooks and dark heartfelt lyrics about love, loss, and the crazy fun moments in between. That's the goal: the sugary and sour, repurposed by two aggressively harmonic musicians and songwriters.
Raised up deep in the San Fernando Valley, their suburban isolation nurtured the girls creativity, as they started making their own music at a young age. Sneaking into punk shows over the hill in Hollywood, they grew up to become teenaged underground staples at all-ages Downtown DIY venue, The Smell. Eventually signing to Kill Rock Stars and Post Present Medium, their all-girl punk band Mika Miko drew international acclaim, landing slots on tours with No Age, Black Lips, and The Gossip.
Bleached originally formed when the Clavin sisters resolved to continue working with each other upon the break up of Mika Miko. Plans were postponed when the sisters joined other bands. Jennifer relocated to New York and toured extensively. With Jennifer away, Jessie began to play with various bands in LA. But in the fleeting moments they found together back home, the songs that became Bleached's early 7" singles came together. Since Jennifer moved back to her hometown, Bleached now serves as both girls' chief creative outlet.
As a whole, the twelve tracks on Ride Your Heart reveal the many facets of Bleached's music in a delirious vortex of playful harmonies, tangled guitars, and golden noise. Each song brings a new element, while also imbibing the classic moods of bands as varied and iconic in nature as The Ramones and The Cars to The Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Mac. From the syncopated backbeat and two-part chorus of "Dead In Your Head,", the rolling riffs and sparkling melodies of "Searching Through The Past" and the pulsating energy and urgency of "Dreaming Without You" and "Outta My Mind", Bleached take you on a sweeping emotional roller coaster that churns and burns. Ride Your Heart is a thrilling, beating, glorious wall of sound strong enough to withstand its own impact.

LA sisters, Jennifer and Jessie Clavin match their ability to blend a mix of freewheeling '77 punk with vintage sunny Southern California melodic rock and roll; creating blindingly bright hooks and dark heartfelt lyrics about love, loss, and the crazy fun moments in between. JENNY HVAL TO EMBARK ON FIRST U.S. TOUR THIS FALL
Multidisciplinary and transgressive Norwegian artist Jenny Hval released the spellbinding,
Innocence Is Kinky
, last month on Rune Grammofon. It follows her debut, Viscera,in overflowing with intimate detail and surrealistic bodily imagery, and additionally weaves experimental pop with injections of mythology, theory and gender politics. As with the artist herself, it is obscurely complex, present, provocative and on its own special level. She worked alongside John Parish who helped bring out the intimate qualities of her lyrics and sharpened her improvisational tendencies, which nod to earlier heroes such as Einstürzende Neubauten's Blixa Bargeld (her title puns on their LP, "Silence Is Sexy"), Patti Smith, Michael Gira, Nick Cave and Kate Bush. Today, Jenny shares the stirring and superb video for title track "Innocence Is Kinky, created by Zia Anger (director), Ashley Connor (director of photography) and Lucy Munger (editor). Some may find this too compelling to watch in the workplace.

On a mission of self-improvement, the ladies of CSS have stepped in to update the wardrobe, home decor and diets of friends and fans alike in their latest three-part CSS Makeover webisode series.
Released today is the third and final part of the series in which Lovefoxxx, Luiza Sá, Ana and Carolina give a Brazilian makeover to Andrew before his first-ever trip to the South American country. Watch and share the webisode HERE.
Previously, the first episode of the series featured CSS’s own drummer JR and part twoprepared Samantha the Venice Beach surfer for an anniversary date and even included a mini makeover for her dog!
Released on June 11th just in time for summer, CSS’s latest album Planta has an energy can’t be denied, from the shimmying and shaking electro-fied opener "Honey" to the tambourine dream of "Faith in Love." In many ways, the album's boundlessness has been CSS's goal since the beginning. Other standouts included "Dynamite" featuring friend and guest Hannah Blilie of The Gossip and the album’s breakout single “Hangover”, which was co-written with Tim Armstrong of Rancid.
