The past twelve months have seen Hudson Mohawke go from underground favorite to being one of the most respected hip-hop/electronic producers, both as an artist and behind the scenes. Teaming up with Lunice last year, the duo formed TNGHT and their eponymous EP proved to be a game changer, soundtracking every sweat-soaked club night and festival for the better part of the last year. Along with some upcoming high-profile TNGHT show, Hudson Mohawke is doing his first run of North American solo dates in a long while.
Recently signed to G.O.O.D. Beats for production, Mohawke is a central producer and collaborator on the forthcoming Yeezus album from Kanye West. He is also currently at work on new TNGHT material, as well as his own sophomore album due out in 2014.

Directed by Simon Cahn (who recently co-directed short film 'Mourir Auprès de Toi' with Spike Jonze), the video finds a group of inmates empathizing with the sentiments Hanni expresses in the song.
About Hanni El Khatib:
When Hanni El Khatib started out, he was just a skater kid playing the world's worst guitar and singing by himself. Inspired by a long line of determined do-it-for-themselves musicians winding back through punk and psychedelia to rock 'n' roll and early r&b and finally the first scratchy years of the blues, he'd record song after bare-bones song-in between day jobs and night life-just because he had things he wanted to sing about. Then in 2010 from a chance meeting, up-and-coming indie label Innovative Leisure recognized that there was something huge hiding in those little songs. And so El Khatib made his official full-power soul 'n' rock 'n' roll debut (on vinyl too) in 2010.
Soon his music would overtake him completely. By the time his first album Will The Guns Come Outwas released in 2011, he clawed out a space of his own musically and left his job as creative director at streetwear label HUF as well as his hometown of San Francisco to become part-owner of (and in-house Art Director) Innovative Leisure in Los Angeles, California. It had been the kind of year where anything that could happen would happen.
In 2012, however, Hanni El Khatib showed up to record his second album with just the clothes on his back-no guitar, no fancy almost-finished demos, and only about three weeks time to get from start to finish. While on tour, he'd met Dan Auerbach in a bar in Paris and after some whiskey got involved, they decided to partner up in Auerbach's studio in Nashville. The idea was to erase everything he'd become comfortable with and to make an album out of only raw instinct and inspiration.
The result is Head In The Dirt, produced by Auerbach, in which El Khatib takes a lucky eleven songs and makes the entire history of rebel music something all his own. He's got cut-to-the-bone rhythm 'n' blues ("Save Me") and overcranked Stooges-style stompers ("Family"). He's got bottomless Black Sabbath riff-outs (the back half of "Pay No Mind") and dub-a-delic garageland rockers ("Nobody Move") that call up the spirits of the Clash and the Equals both. His "Low" is just one Andre 3000 remix away from a club anthem, "Penny" is his stuck-in-your-head pop hit and "Sinking In The Sand" is his smash-your-head freak-out. The plan that first day in Nashville might have been to make something out of nothing-but by the end of Head In The Dirt, you'll realize that Hanni El Khatib actually made something out of everything.

In 2010, with Le Tigre on hiatus, Kathleen began to build her dream team with whom she recorded The Julie Ruin debut album.
Titled Run Fast , the album will be released September 3rd via TJR Records, distributed via Dischord and features Kathi Wilcox on bass (Bikini Kill bandmate), Kenny Mellmanon keys (’Kiki and Herb’), Carmine Covelli on drums (actor, filmmaker and musical juggernaut) & Sara Landeau on guitar (met Kathleen mentoring at Rock Camp for Girls.)
The Julie Ruin provides a tight musical backbone to Hanna’s iconic vocal style. Album opener “Oh Come On,” mixed by Hanna, is a raw punk track that immediately bursts the record open followed by the danceable “Ha Ha Ha” hooked on fierce lyrics and flying guitar. Mixed by James Murphy (DFA, LCD Soundsystem), “Just My Kind” is a soulful bass-driven love song of epic proportions, while “Girls Like Us” showcases the group’s tougher edge and whip-smart wit. A celebrated, outspoken figure at the forefront of feminist punk, Kathleen Hanna has collaborated on The Riot Grrrl Collection book alongside Fales senior archivist Lisa Darms, Johanna Fateman (Le Tigre), Molly Neuman (Bratmobile) and more. Soon to be released, The Punk Singer is a documentary film made by Sini Anderson and Tamra Davis that follows Kathleen for a year, during which she discovers that she has Lyme Disease, explaining her temporary absence from music.

Made up of Sydney natives Matt and Rizz, VOWS draws inspiration from film, literature, romance, and the pop culture the two grew up on. The analogue explorations of �Lotus & The Jondy,� the latest track from Thundercat�s new album Apocalypse , can be streamed now via Brainfeeder�s Soundcloud page. Thundercat is also featured in the trailer for the debut episode of the new music show �Off Main St.� The groundbreaking long-format show, produced by Dilly Gent (Nigel Godrich�s �From The Basement�), sees Thundercat taking the stage at an epic live show at the Echoplex in Los Angeles, and visiting some of his favorite hometown spots including Amoeba Records, Meltdown Comics and hatmaker Gunnar Fox. The Still Life
(Bella Union) has crept up on me—I skimmed through it when I first got it, but I failed to really give it a thorough listen until the other day, and now it's working its way into my brain. The whimsical pop-rock Laurent-Marke creates is quiet, gentle, and a bit somnambulant—which prevents it from making an instant impression—but after a couple spins her wispy, lispy voice has charmed me.Her melodies are sweetly insinuating and while it would be nice if she added some uptempo rhythms into the ballads and mid-tempo nuggets, I can't say that I mind too much. The pretty tracks that percolate behind her singing are mostly acoustic, with guitar arpeggios complemented by fleeting washes of kalimba, strings, organ, and more generous heapings of harmony vocals.
