The Entrance Band
Premieres Video for New Song "Spider" at Relix
Announces US Tour Dates Including West Coast Appearances w/ Mazzy Star!
New Album "Face The Sun" Out November 19th on Beyond Beyond is Beyond

Watch the video for "Spider" exclusively @ Relix!

In support of their upcoming new album  "Face The Sun"  out November 19th on Beyond Beyond is Beyond, heralded California psych-trio The Entrance Band has premiered their video for new song "Spider" exclusively atRelix.com.

In addition, the band is announcing a series of US tour dates, including West Coast dates currently underway supporting Mazzy Star, and has made their upcoming release available for pre-order at the BBiB webstore  here!

About The Entrance Band:

Depending on which syllable you prefer to accent, the name The Entrance Band can conjure images of secret entryways, or it can represent the feeling of being dazzled and delighted quite literally, to be put into a trance. The music made by The Entrance Band can awaken either definition, and countless other dimensions as well.

Since first collaborating together on the 2006 album Prayer of Death, guitarist/vocalist Guy Blakeslee, bassistPaz Lenchantin and drummer Derek James have breathed continued life into the sound of The Entrance Band. What began as a solo effort for the Baltimore-bred Blakeslee now manifests itself as a fully aligned group effort, now native to California three minds, alike yet unique, united in pursuit of shared sonic enchantment, amplified and energetic.

That energy has translated into a catalog of recorded expression including a self-titled album released on Thurston Moore's Ecstatic Peace label, the 2012 Fine Flow EP and the 2013 EP Dans Le Tempete  and an unassailable reputation for offering one of the most intuitively-interconnected live performances on the planet.

These memorable melodies and their near-telekinetic musical kinship are found in full flower on their new LP, Face the Sun   certainly the band's most compelling collection of songs to date. The first full-length in 4 years, it is an album built firmly upon notable personal struggles and transformations experienced by all three band members.

It's no exaggeration to say that The Entrance Band were unaware of the path ahead of them when they began recording  Face the Sun   nor of whether the album or band would exist at all further down that path. The album emerges from a long tunnel of addiction, anxiety, sorrow and sadness. But in these hells exist the perspectives that allow for one or in this case, three to see their journey through, to willfully turn toward the light and take in the prism of paradise.

Face the Sun  is a rare and remarkable collection of songs that recognizes and honors both sides of the journey toward the light the glory and the gruesome. Through the music of The Entrance Band comes the realization that these two sides can't exist without the other, and their journey is one that unifies the light and the dark. The album is fully fitting of the title Face the Sun forever burning with potentially dangerous warmth, yet endlessly illuminating.

Says Beyond Beyond is Beyond co-owner Dominique Miniaci of the recent signing, "As longtime fans of The Entrance Band, Mike (Newman) and I are psyched and honored to release their extraordinary new Face the Sun album! It radiates a next level of the Entrance sound and reveals the band in their finest space yet. You're gonna love it and that love will be requited--that's what really amazing albums do."

Springsteen In Focus” EPK

NEW YORK – She’s been photographing Bruce Springsteen for 32 years. Her Springsteen photos have been exhibited in galleries and published in top magazines around the world. Like Bruce Springsteen,  Debra L. Rothenberg  was born and raised in New Jersey.
And now, finally, through more than four different decades of concert tours in national and international arenas and stadiums, and impromptu Jersey Shore club appearances – from the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park to less notorious nightspots like Rum Runner in Sea Bright and Cheers in Long Branch – the award-winning photographer has gathered it all in one glorious hardbound tribute to the man who inspired her dreams. BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN IN FOCUS 1980-2012 (Turn the Page Publishing), is an unparalleled collection of memorable and iconic Springsteen photography from a perspective only a true “Jersey Girl” could offer. Selected by the Wall Street Journal as one of its “Best Photo Books for Fall” and called “amazing” by the New York Daily News, this 276 photo, 200-page coffee table book is a must for all fans, chronicling The Boss from “The River” Tour to “The Wrecking Ball” Tour and many Jersey Shore haunts in-between. Says Robert Santelli, executive director of the Grammy Museum and fellow Jersey Shore native who has authored books and numerous articles on The Boss: “When it comes to photographers that have documented the career of Bruce Springsteen on the Jersey Shore, Debra Rothenberg has few peers.”
Rothenberg will be embarking on a Holiday Season book tour of the East and West Coast that is scheduled to hit Los Angeles, San Diego, Philadelphia, and of course, New Jersey.
Rothenberg has been “workin’ on a dream” for a generation, and the faith that she’s shown in herself and her primary subject has finally been realized in a very special book that she’s tremendously proud to share with Springsteen fans around the globe.
“On weekends, I listened to Bruce and dreamed,” says Rothenberg. “I brought my camera everywhere. My life was breathing, photography and Bruce Springsteen. Nothing else mattered. Bruce’s music brought me to another world – another planet, actually. A place where I knew who I was and where I wanted to be. At the Jersey Shore. If you have a dream, follow it. Keep pushing to make it a reality. I am living proof that dreams do come true.”

Seattle, Nov. 4, 2013 – Mogwai, who recently announced the release of their eighth studio album, Rave Tapes, on Jan. 21 via Sub Pop, have confirmed an extensive spring tour of North America (dates listed below).

The Scottish quintet gave fans an early listen to music from Rave Tapes last week, streaming the single “Remurdered” via Sub Pop’s Soundcloud (http://soundcloud.com/subpop/mogwai-remurdered/s-2gdM2).  Pitchfork described the single as “night shivers coupled with blocky electronics,” adding that the track “heads down a mazy path while the volume gradually increases, ultimately peaking in a mesh of criss-crossing synthetic textures.”

The band returns to the road in late January for a short European trek (dates listed below).

In related news, Mogwai recently scored the French supernatural thriller, Les Revanants, the most popular TV series in Canal + history. The show has since aired in the UK to rave reviews and made its stateside debut as The Returned on The Sundance Channel on Oct. 31.

White Fence - Live In San Francisco

White Fence - Live In San FranciscoStreet Date, November 5th, 2013, Castle Face
Everyone with any degree of hearing loss knows that, at its best, the loose and shaggy beast of a band balancing on the crest of their capabilities is the ideal, the firefly that all records aspire to capture in a jar for your repetitive pleasures. The live record promises better, but somehow most fall flatter than the painstakingly refined and honed tones of a studio creation. Who better to try to right this wrong than a bunch of home friers, 4 track freaks, and DIY gear-cookers? John Dwyer had the idea of recording our friends live with his Tascam 388 and it rapidly galvanized into a real crew of heavy hitters and voila, we come bearing the fruit of that unholy union...
WHITE FENCE throw a fork in the light socket with their blistering live set, captured in all it's ragged glory to tape on Thee Tascam 388 under the sternly masterful yet tender care of low-budget luminaries Eric Bauer, Chris Woodhouse, Bob Marshall, and of course, our own John Dwyer. They were screaming out of the speakers that night and we kept it safe in a jar for you, undiluted and unsullied. This and the whole series will be packaged in handsome but simple trappings - a thick gloss jacket featuring black and white photos of the evening (shot to film!) that you can marvel to in envy as the jams pour out of your speaks and into infinity. However, this being the first of (we hope) a long and fruitful series, we're offering a limited colored vinyl edition that will feature an alternate lenticular cover, catching the band eternally between two instants of an amazing night at a tiny club full of sweaty, lucky souls.

THRILL - as your old favorites are paid muscular tribute
CHILL - at the mellow vibes interspersed strategically
LISTEN - to jokes and banter, immortalized in wax
WAIT - there's going to be more where this came fromTim Presley - vocals, guitar, songs
Jack Adams - Guitar
Sean Presley - Guitar
Jared Everett - Bass
Nick Murray - Drums

WHITE FENCE - Live In San Francisco, available from Castle Face November 5th on LP & digital.Track List:01. Backwards
02. Swagger Vets And Double Moon
03. Mr Adams/Who Feels Right?
04. Baxter Corner
05. The Pool
06. Harness
07. Lizards First
08. Chairs In The Dark
09. Tame
10. Pink Gorilla

12. Be Right Too

DEBUT SOLO ALBUM AUDITION TAPESOUT NOW ON DANGERBIRD RECORDS T. Hardy Morris is proud to unveil the final take away video from the "Audition Tapes From Places In Peril" series via Esquire.com. In conjunction with the release of his critically praised debut solo album  Audition Tapes , Morris and filmmaker/photographer Jason Thrasher traveled to 10 historic sites throughout Georgia to film live performance "take away" videos of each song on the album. All of these sites were chosen from the "Places In Peril" list, published annually by the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation to draw attention to historic sites within the state threatened by demolition and neglect (Learn More).

In the months surrounding the release of Audition Tapes earlier this summer, Morris has steadily unveiled videos from the Places in Peril series, helping to draw national attention to the Georgia Trust and the under threat historic sites within his home state. The videos have been featured onPaste, American SongwriterStereogum, CMT, Hufffington Post, Aquarium Drunkard, KCRW, Jambase, and even the official R.E.M. website to name a few. Last week the Georgia Trust announced the 2014 edition of their annual Places In Peril list.http://www.georgiatrust.org/news/2014places.php
Aside from the attention the Places in Peril video series has generated for historic Georgia sites, the album  Audition Tapes  has independently won wide acclaim from tastemakers across the music world. While Stereogum noted the "calming beauty" found on the recordMagnetMagazine praised it as "an album of subtle shifts and minimal arrangements, an LP that can elicit tension and yearning and release in the softest of strums." Pasteproclaimed "It will break your heart in a very sincere, wildly passionate way." And American Songwriter described the music as "a raw, unfiltered view of an artist evolving and growing in front of our very eyes, setting the scene for repeat listens and years of enjoyment."

Big Scary Releases Remix EP; New LP Due in January

BIG SCARY REMIXED BY DAN THE AUTOMATORTHE ANTLERS & MENOMENA ON TWIN RIVERS EP, OUT DIGITALLY NEXT WEEK
NEW FULL LENGTH ALBUM NOT ART DUE JANUARY 28, 2014 ON BARSUK
Big Scary
Barsuk Records is excited to introduce Australia's Big Scary to North American audiences, starting with a digital EP on November 12th in anticipation of a full-length album  Not Art  due January 28, 2014. The  Twin Rivers EP  features two tracks off Not Art, a non-album collaboration with noted artistJonti, plus remixes by  Dan the Automator The Antlers , and Barsuk's own  Menomena .
BrooklynVegan  premiered the The Antlers' remix of "Twin Rivers," and noted the apt pairing, highlighting both bands' "knack for delicate, layered dream pop." In their premiere of Menomena's remix of "Luck Now,"  IndieShuffle  praised the retooling, saying "Sometimes remixes improve on a melody. Other times they fortify a bassline or amplify percussion. Menomena's take on "Luck Now" does all of those things and so much more." In conjunction with today's announcement, the Dan the Automator remix of "Twin Rivers" is now available HERE, and the whole EP via Spotify starting on Tuesday, November 5, one week prior to its wide digital release.
The Melbourne-based duo (featuring Tom Iansek and Jo Syme) has become a household name in Australian indie-pop circles and has a growing cult following overseas. Barsuk Records is thrilled to be the U.S. home for the band's forthcoming album Not Art, a slow-burning stunner produced and engineered by Iansek and mixed by Tom Elmhirst (Amy Winehouse, The Kills, Arcade Fire, Adele) that distills influences of indie rock song structure, pop and hip-hop production, and experimental ambient music.
