Hailing from Tennessee, Cheap Time have been around in one incarnation or another since 2006. The nucleus of the band has always been Jeffrey Novak who writes and sings the songs, as well as playing guitar and keyboards (and who also has a healthy solo career on the side). The band began with Jemina Pearl andNathan Vasquez from the band Be Your Own Pet rounding out the line up - theirs was a sound of a teen punk band with more attitude than musicianship, owing more than a little to early Redd Kross. By the time the band recorded their debut album, the lineup had changed completely and, in addition to improved musicianship, Novak brought in influences of 70’s glam and power pop bands like Sparks and The Quick. The band followed this up with more line up changes and a sophomore album, Fantastic Explanations (and Similar Situations), that was darker, moodier and more complex than it’s predecessor. Cheap Time has always been a quintessential sum of its parts, an equal part being the low-fi bombast that they employ to scuzz-up their otherwise lightweight brand of simplified 1970’s glam punk that’s delivered with an expected amount of adolescent snottery with a strong sense of sing-songy cohesion, mostly dissected into two minute blasts of sound. The third album, Wallpaper Music, received rave reviews and the band have been touring constantly for the past year, most recently with Social Distortion and the legendary Mudhoney, but will head out on their own this winter, touring the UK, Europe and the US/Canada. The new album, 'Exit Smiles', is released November 19th through In The Red Records. "Hypnotic kraut-rock repetition and plentiful solo breaks....Cheap Time channel their frustration into quite convincing and ferocious explosions." “Jessica Hernandez & the Deltas have already been rocking the local music circuit in hometown Detroit, but their soulful sound is bound for bigger things.” – Paste Magazine
Comprised of five charismatic tracks that highlight the raw talent of this Detroit act,Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas’ Demons EP is out today via Instant Records. Showcasing influences as diverse as the gypsy punk outfit Gogol Bordello and pensive singer/songwriter Tom Waits, Jessica brings a soulful attitude that is far beyond her years to each of her songs.
While the title track and “Big Town” emphasize a theatrical, borderless sound, “Caught Up” speeds things up with saucy vocals and a flirtatious beat. “Shadow Boy” is a dark, cinematic ballad that allows Jessica’s voice to truly shine, and “Picture Me With You (Carnie Threesome)” is a sultry song that rounds out the collection with its hypnotic riff and gypsy cabaret overtones. Brooklyn-based duo Ghost Beach release Miracle (Remixes) EP via Nettwerk Recordstoday. Formed in 2012, the duo of Josh Ocean and Eric “Doc” Mendelsohn have perfected a blend of retro and futuristic soaring synth pop that can best be described as Tropical Grit Pop.
Miracle (Remixes) EP will include the album version, as well as several remixes of the title track by Le Youth, DallasK and Nathan C. East coast meets west coast when Los Angeles-based Le Youth does a funky disco remix of “Miracle.” Nathan C remixes the track into a driving progressive house track while Dallas K takes the synth-heavy route, pairing lush saw sounds with guitars. With their self-titled debut EP and follow-up EP Modern Tongues , Ghost Beach has set the Internet ablaze with consistent number ones on Hype Machine. With upbeat anthems and a preference for '80s synth, the band left their mark at this year's SXSW, and have played shows alongside artists including Robert DeLong, The 1975, The Neighbourhood, Imagine Dragons, St. Lucia and Youngblood Hawke.

Brooklyn-based duo Ghost Beach release Miracle (Remixes) EP via Nettwerk Recordstoday. Formed in 2012, the duo of Josh Ocean and Eric “Doc” Mendelsohn have perfected a blend of retro and futuristic soaring synth pop that can best be described as Tropical Grit Pop.
Miracle (Remixes) EP will include the album version, as well as several remixes of the title track by Le Youth, DallasK and Nathan C. East coast meets west coast when Los Angeles-based Le Youth does a funky disco remix of “Miracle.” Nathan C remixes the track into a driving progressive house track while Dallas K takes the synth-heavy route, pairing lush saw sounds with guitars. With their self-titled debut EP and follow-up EP Modern Tongues , Ghost Beach has set the Internet ablaze with consistent number ones on Hype Machine. With upbeat anthems and a preference for '80s synth, the band left their mark at this year's SXSW, and have played shows alongside artists including Robert DeLong, The 1975, The Neighbourhood, Imagine Dragons, St. Lucia and Youngblood Hawke.

DRILL: SEATTLE will feature performances by Helmet, Chastity Belt, Vestals, Earth and more. The festival will also include a performance from the PinkFlag Guitar Orchestra in which other artists, including Helmet’s Page Hamilton, will join Wire on stage for a rendition of “Pink Flag.”

Bio /Welcome to the world of Courtney Barnett, a hot, hazy place where 'suburban banalities' and 'mindless procrastination' have never sounded so compelling. The 24-year-old Melbourne-based singer, guitarist and songwriter has created a candid lyrical space for her growing legions of devotees through a series of DIY releases and shows back home to snowballing acclaim, and is now taking things worldwide with her first LP collection, The Double EP: A Sea of Split Peas, via House Anxiety/Marathon Artists.
Lead single "Avant Gardener" is a vivid display of her magic. A hook-laden fug of country roots and discordant psychedelia with a dream-like narrative. Courtney's refreshingly unaffected sing-speak tells the story of an anaphylaxis induced panic-attack in the midst of an Australian heatwave, "The paramedic thinks I'm clever cos I play guitar, I think she's clever cos she stops people dying."
The LP collection is a record of two halves, and collates Her Story So Far... It fittingly begins with six brand new songs and is then backed with six older tracks which were originally released in the form of her 2012 debut EP. Together, The Double EP: A Sea of Split Peas spans genres and stories, and is unique introduction to an incomparable and exciting new talent.
As well as "Avant Gardener," selected highlights include the gorgeous and woozy piano-strewn opener 'Out of the Woodwork' which shows the darker side of her writing. "Anonymous Club" sees Courtney at her romantic, melancholic best, while the infectious Dylan-esque cavalcade that is "History Eraser" was recently nominated alongside Tame Impala for the APRA Song Of The Year back in Australia.
"The one thing that captivates me in a song is the honesty of a songwriter," considers Courtney "And that doesn't mean it has to be deep, dark personal secrets, it just means it has to be honest. It could be about walking to the shop, but if it's said with that person's perspective then it can make it interesting." It's with this purist story-telling mantra that Courtney's finding her listeners growing at a staggering rate.

After almost exactly a year to the day since the release of The Mystery Of Heaven (the collaborative LP from lutist Jozef Van Wissem, and filmmaker Jim Jarmusch) comes this brand new music video for the track "Etimasia". The video was directed by filmmaker Jacqueline Castel, who has directed roughly a dozen music videos for several artists on Sacred Bones Records. Castel gives her director's statement here: "Astrological omens and messianic prophecies inform the video for Etimasia, which charts the phases of an annular solar eclipse."
The results are absolutely stunning, and it is a bit curious to see this video come just a week after the last solar eclipse. Check it out below!

About Jozef Van Wissem & Jim Jarmusch:
Jim Jarmusch and Jozef Van Wissem met on the streets of New York in 2006. They shared a lot of interest and background so a collaboration and a friendship was born. Jarmusch was looking to have Van Wissem compose a score for a film he had been trying to make for years, what he described as a “crypto-vampire film” about two lovers, outsider types who have been in love for hundreds of years. Van Wissem’s work comes from a tradition of avant-garde minimalism and lends itself well to the director’s stark cinematic works. Jarmusch has played guitar in bands on and off since the late ‘70s. Van Wissem’s compositional style involves hypnotic circular musical phrases that allow for a lot of contemplative space between the notes.Their first live performance was in Issue Project Room in Brooklyn in October 2011, where they appeared together for a Van Wissem curated concert program called “New Music for Early Instruments.” The idea for their first album, Concerning the Entrance Into Eternity (Important Records) developed from their live performance. Jarmusch has said that he considers these songs as Van Wissem’s compositions, and sees himself as someone filling in the background to Jozef ’s foreground, like the “scenic” on a film shoot, the one who paints the backdrops. “The sound of the lute is as bright as the sun, a beautiful red color and my stuff sounds sort of like the moon, more like blue, like mercury.” This newest album, The Mystery of Heaven was recorded in New York with help from hypnotic Tilda Swinton on guest vocals.
