“ …Tori Amos returns to the world of piano-driven pop with her best album in 20 years.” – NPR
“Tori Amos made a pretty perfect return” – SPIN
"Her fiercely personal lyrical candor earned her a face among influential ’90s singer-songwriters …it’s her appreciable mysticism and prodigal chops that carried Amos into something like otherworldliness, and, well, the new millennium." – The FADER
"[Unrepentant Geraldines] proves that Tori’s still very much the queen of the twisted alt-piano ballad. Now take this as your cue to bow down and genuflect." - VICE's Noisey

Tori Amos will release her 14th studio album Unrepentant Geraldines tomorrow, May 13th on Mercury Classics/Universal Music Classics. Critically acclaimed by NPR , The New York Times , The FADER , Stereogum , SPIN , WNYC Soundcheck and appearing on Katie and VH1 Big Morning Buzz Live , this release continues the iconic, platinum-selling artist’s legacy of groundbreaking recordings. Unrepentant Geraldines is a return to the inspiring and personal music that Amos is known for the world over. Pop/rock in both content and feel, fans can experience this new body of work live as Amos has launched a wordwide tour and will grace U.S. stages beginning July 16th.
Amos explains, “After 2009 I walked into three records that are sort of a period of writing that was a different stylistic choice. I needed to walk away from contemporary songwriting. I needed to do something different as a writer.” But those three diverse album projects (Midwinter Graces, Night of Hunters, Gold Dust) followed by her first full-bore theatrical project (The Light Princess) alchemized something anew within. Out of the flux of ambition and distraction and imagination came Unrepentant Geraldines. It’s an album on which Amos once more zeroes in on the writing of brightly melodic, deftly evocative chamber-pop.
Unrepentant Geraldines is a return to her core identity as a creator of contemporary songs, following a series of more classically-inspired and innovative musical projects of the last four years. These have included the seasonal collection Midwinter Graces, the classically influenced Night of Hunters, and Gold Dust, a collection of orchestral re-workings of songs from across her career.
Tori Amos has sold over 12 million albums, has played over a thousand shows and has had multiple Grammy nominations. A pioneer across multiple platforms, she was the first major label artist to offer a single for download, has had her songs turned into graphic novels, and has produced pioneering videos throughout her career. She is renowned for her passionate and broad fan-base, her critically and commercially successful tours, and her ever evolving live show. Ms. Amos is also a noted humanitarian and co-founder of RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network), which is the United States’ largest anti-sexual assault organization.

out June 3. The album is available for pre-order here. The Handsome Family is husband and wife duo Brett and Rennie Sparks, who have collaborated as a couple for more than 20 years. The band has garnered widespread clinical acclaim, Spin says “The songs are an effortless blend of vintage country and pre-rock ‘n’ roll pop, but New Mexico’s Handsome Family are no cutesy nostalgia act.” Bird, who has long been a fan and first covered their track “Don’t Be Scared” in 2003, toured with the band last fall and began working on this collection. Things are Really Great Here, Sort Of... includes an updated rendition of “Don’t Be Scared,” along with “Far From Any Road,” the main title theme song for the HBO seriesTrue Detective. Watch The Handsome Family perform their track “So Much Wine” with Bird in Santa Barbara last fall here. The new album follows Bird’s 2013 release of the 7 track EP I Want to See Pulaski at Night, and his 2012 release Hands of Glory, which was dubbed to be “A quiet, careful grower…it blooms into something beautiful.” byNPR, while gaining praise from

, calling Bird a man whose “emotional urgency energizes his fluid multi-instrumental elocution.”Chicago-based film score composer, multi-instrumentalist and lyricist, Andrew Bird, picked up his first violin at the age of four and spent his formative years soaking up classical repertoire completely by ear. As a teen Bird became interested in a variety of styles including early jazz, country blues and gypsy music, synthesizing them into his unique brand of pop. Since beginning his recording career in 1997 he has released 11 albums, his first solo record Weather Systems coming in 2003. Bird has gone on to record with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and perform at New York’s Carnegie Hall. Most recently Bird composed his first ever film score for the movieNorman (hailed as “a probing, thoughtful score” by The New York Times; available now on Mom + Pop), contributed to the soundtrack of The Muppets and collaborated with inventor Ian Schneller on Sonic Arboretum, an installation at New York’s Guggenheim Museum and Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art.ANDREW BIRD TOUR DATESJune 6 Studio 360 WNYC Radio Love Fest at BAM Harvey Theater Brooklyn, NYJune 7 Rough Trade Brooklyn, NYJune 8 Lincoln Theatre Washington, DCJune 9 Lincoln Theatre Washington, DCJune 10 Cat’s Cradle Carrboro, NCJune 12 Orange Peel Asheville, TNJune 13 Bonnaroo Manchester, TNJune 15 Cain’s Ballroom Tulsa, OKJune 16 The Paramount Theater Austin, TXJune 20 Chautauqua Boulder, COJune 21 Telluride Telluride, COJuly 2 Power Center Ann Arbor, MIJuly 4 Toronto Urban Roots Fest Toronto, ONJuly 5 Ottawa Blues Fest Ottawa, ONJuly 6 Jazz Fest Montreal, QCJuly 8 Summerstage New York, NYJuly 10 Spaulding Auditorium at the Hopkins Center Hanover, NHJuly 11 The Klein Bridgeport, CTJuly 12 Lowell Summer Music Series Lowell, MAJuly 18 Vancouver Folk Fest Vancouver, BCJuly 24 Calgary Folk Fest Calgary, ABJuly 26 Interstellar Rodeo Edmonton, ABAugust 1 Henry Miller Library Big Sur, CAAugust 2 Mountain Winery Saratoga, CAAugust 3 Sigmund Stern Grove San Francisco, CASeptember 19 Humphrey’s San Diego, CASeptember 21 Hollywood Bowl Los Angeles, CAVisit the official Andrew Bird website (http://www.andrewbird.net/home/) for additional resources.

Haley Bonar's Last War Out May 20 On Graveface
Haley Bonar's Last War Out May 20 On Graveface Stream Last War at NPR
"Echoing the bright guitars and synths of The Cure's poppier fare, Bonar creates a whimsical masterclass of indie-pop songwriting." - Consequence of Sound
"Wondrously ornate pop." - NPR Music
"Dynamic and demanding." - SPIN"It's a bold, confident statement, and it's an early pick for one of the year's best." - Wondering Sound Stream: Last War via NPR First Listen Haley Bonar is set to release her fifth full length record, Last War, on May 20th via Graveface. In anticipation of the release, the album is streaming in full a week before street date at NPR. NPR's Stephen Thompson says, "Virtually every song on Last War strikes that kind of smart, careful balance, which Bonar achieves through equal doses of mystery and charm." He adds, "A bright, subtle storyteller, she displays a mastery of pop-rock craftsmanship that keeps these songs as relentlessly catchy on the surface as they are alluringly complex underneath." Last War is available for pre-order now in the Graveface online store. Haley Bonar has several midwest shows coming up later this month. Look for more shows to be added in the coming weeks. All confirmed dates are listed below. Haley Bonar had already recorded an album as a teenager before leaving Rapid City, SD for Duluth, MN-where she immediately recorded again. Alan Sparhawk heard her at a local Iron Range club one night and a week later, she was transformed from a college student to an ambitious dropout with her guitar and a drummer crammed into a Honda Civic opening for Low. She was nineteen years old. That's a story already.
But there is more to this story. In the last decade, Haley has released eight more recordings to critical acclaim and mounting success: lots of touring, playing festivals, capturing awards and artist grants, inventive video productions, placing song tracks on prime TV shows and popular film, appearing on myriad Best-Of lists while continuing to write and perform locally. Oh... and she also had a baby in there somewhere. It's no accident that her creative prowess drew the attention and respect of fellow collaborators like Dave King, Andrew Bird and Justin Vernon, not to mention the company she keeps in a rotating cast of premium band members including Jake Hanson (Halloween Alaska, Mason Jennings), Jeremy Hanson (Tapes 'n Tapes), Luke Anderson (Rogue Valley),Jeremy Ylvisaker (Andrew Bird, Alpha Consumer) and Mike Lewis (Bon Iver, Alpha Consumer).
Haley's musical adventure took on a passenger in the wack theatrics of her no/new-wave punkish side project Gramma's Boyfriend with an attention-getting album already behind them and an audience building in front of them. She is always throwing a curve ball or adding another dimension, akin to her heroes: Joni Mitchell, Mark Mothersbaugh, Laurie Anderson, Amy Sedaris, Maria Bamford, Louis C.K., Margaret Atwood and Cookie Mueller. Like them, she remains true to her artistry regardless of trend, politic or scripted gender barriers.
Haley Bonar is more than a hard working musician. She is an innovator, creative ass-kicker and visionary dug into the trenches of living. She writes genuine, epochal and poetic tales that feel like our heartbreak, failure, frustration and joy. In a clear, insistent and often haunting voice, she tells real stories back to us, as if they were our own. It just doesn't get much better than that. Upcoming Haley Bonar Shows:

Death Has No Dominion New Album Out June 17 On SQE
Death Has No Dominion Self-Titled Album Out June 17 On SQEStream "Harvest" at Paste Magazine

Watch: "Harvest" video via YouTube
Danish-duo Death Has No Dominion are excited to announce their new self-titled LP out June 17 via SQE. The band has unveiled the lead track from the record, "Harvest" at Paste Magazine and the song is also available for streaming and embed HERE. Death Has No Dominion also release a video for "Harvest" which shot at various locations in Southern California. The video is available to post and share via YouTube. Death Has No Dominion is available for pre-order on CD in the SQE online storeand digitally via iTunes.
The story of Death Has No Dominion exists within their music. It is not a story that begins with the phrase "once upon a time" and it does not unfold chronologically. It is implacable, built on atmosphere and emotional heft rather than centered on actual fact. If you listen closely, you can hear it, the tale of two musicians who found an inherent and inspirational connection in the juxtaposition of themselves.
Rasmus Bak and Bjarke Niemann are the two musicians. They have known each other for a certain amount of time. They are both from the same place, but the exact location of that place is not relevant to this story. In the fall, some time ago, the two musicians went to upstate New York to stay in a black house once owned by Willem Dafoe. It is called the Rubber House and among its many strange features is a gigantic dance room. Rasmus and Bjarke drank a lot of wine in the house and they made a lot of music.
On the first night they wrote a song called "Poughkeepsie Exit," a delicate, acoustic number that reveals a moody, intimate vibe. It opened their eyes to what this partnership could yield. They wrote more songs. They were interested in how a pair of ukuleles could manifest a soaring, quietly significant sound so unlike the instrument's usual aesthetic. There are very few preconceived notions about the ukulele. The musicians felt liberated from prescribed ways of playing and creating. There was nothing in their minds except the collaboration founded in each new moment. They were centered on the idea of a new dawn. It is an idea that found its way into everything they made after that. Things were not the same when Rasmus and Bjarke came back from that place.
During some future time, over the course of a certain number of months, the duo met regularly in the studio, writing a new song every time they came together. There were many songs, recorded in Los Angeles, Copenhagen and New York. Some of the songs became an album they named after themselves. The first track, "Harvest," set the tone for what followed, and each song constructed a visceral atmosphere of sound infused with emotive resonance. "Coming Like A Hurricane," a propulsive, ambient number, opened the possibilities of that sound space. Those two numbers, along with "Poughkeepsie Exit," are the key elements of the story.
Death Has No Dominion is a new dawn itself, in some ways. It represents a new means of artistic creation, of going with the flow and accepting whatever emerges. It is about a pureness of energy and an emphasis on the significance simplicity can yield. It is something you can hear in every note that is played, and it is also something that is present in the silent spaces between the notes. That is the story of the band. You must listen to fully understand it. Harvest Track List:
1. Harvest2. Monkey Island
3. Reaching The Shore
4. Uproar In Heaven
5. Poughkeepsie Exit
6. May Your House Be Safe From Tigers
7. Coming Like A Hurricane

LILY ALLEN TO HIT THE ROAD FOR NORTH AMERICAN TOUR IN SEPTEMBER
BRITISH POP SINGER IS TOURING IN SUPPORT OF HER CURRENT U.K. NO. 1 ALBUM SHEEZUS, OUT NOW
TICKETS ON SALE MAY 15
May 12th, 2014 - Burbank, CA - Lily Allen has announced that she will hit the road in September for her first North American tour in five years. The British pop singer is touring in support of her new album Sheezus , which was released to much critical fanfare on May 6th by Warner Bros. Records. The album has peaked at No. 1 on iTunes in six countries, including the U.K., at No. 2 on iTunes in seven countries, including the U.S., and is Top 10 on iTunes in a total of 20 countries. Tickets for the tour go on-sale May 16th, with the exception of Los Angeles which is on-sale May 15th.
In addition to the tour, which kicks off in Miami on September 9th and concludes on October 10th in Los Angeles, Allen is also performing a sold-out show at New York City's Highline Ballroom this week (May 15th). In addition, she will appear on The Today Showon May 14th, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on May 15th, and Live with Kelly and Michael on May 26th. She will also tape an episode of PBS The Artist's Den airing later this summer.
Critics have weighed in on Allen's return with Cosmopolitan announcing that "Britain's top pop provocateur is back and as unapologetic as ever." U.K. music bible Q declares her "Britain's smartest pop star" and notes that Sheezus is a blend of "punchy feminist statements, wistful party jams, NSFW love letters to her husband, two-finger salutes to her critics, and moments of startling vulnerability." In its four-star review, The Timescalled it "The Mother of all Comebacks." Elle.com calls Allen "the pop world's Greek chorus, an important voice reporting from the front lines." New York magazine says: "It's Lily Allen, so we are ALWAYS paying attention."
Since emerging in 2006 with her iconic debut single "Smile," Allen has gone on to sell over five million albums worldwide. Her huge success in the U.K. not only quickly spread around the world, but also helped shift the musical axis toward young female artists. Her talent as a songwriter was acknowledged in 2010 when she won three Ivor Novello Awards. That same year she announced she was taking a break from making and performing music. In 2013 Lily returned to the studio, having spent the previous three years raising her young family and establishing her own record label. At the end of 2013, Lily released two songs simultaneously - her cover of Keane's "Somewhere Only We Know," which reached No. 1 in the U.K. and the download-only track "Hard Out Here," which charted in the British Top 10 that same week. Allen has been making waves with "Hard Out Here," which Entertainment Weekly called "a booming critique of pop's double standard" and "a lot of fun."
