Dan Croll in Los Angeles @ Echo 12/7

New York and Los Angeles Shows Announced

“Croll has a way with indie-pop that's unforced and damn catchy.” - Noisey
Today, singer/songwriter Dan Croll releases a new song “One of Us,” which is the first material since his critically-acclaimed debut album Sweet Disarray. The song was premiered during Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show last night, and is streaming now on Noisey – PRESS HERE to listen!
This December, Dan will return to the US for intimate shows in New York and Los Angeles. Tickets for all dates will go on sale Friday, October 16th. See full routing below, and PRESS HERE for more info.
The Liverpool crooner’s debut Sweet Disarray, released in April 2014, quickly received international acclaim and was followed by sold-out nationwide tours on both sides of the Atlantic along with a collaboration with South African choir Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Dan has picked up fans far and wide in the fashion, sport and entertainment worlds, ranging from British labels Burberry (who took Dan to Taipei in 2014 to launch of their new Trench collection) and Paul Smith (who personally hosted Dan’s album release party in his Soho store), to the British Embassy inviting him to be a cultural ambassador during the World Cup in 2014, performing his first show in Brazil ahead of the opening England match.
Dan spent the summer stateside in Atlanta, GA recording his sophomore album with producer Ben H Allen (CeeLo Green, Deerhunter, Animal Collective) – watch this space for more on that later.
Praise for Dan Croll: “[Sweet Disarray is] full of cheeky pop and infectious harmonies,” - NPR
“More ideas in one or two songs than most people come up with in one album." - BBC
“[Sweet Disarray] collects a handful of previously released gems from the chameleonic 23-year-old, including soulful strummer ‘Home,’ the horn-blasted ‘Compliment Your Soul,’ and chipper electronic tune ‘In/Out.’” -SPIN
“This Liverpool native has one foot in the folk genre and the other in the world of electro-pop, and the ever-present psychedelic undercurrent mixed with his charming persona provide endless energy for live performances.”-Paste
“[Dan] combines electronic music with gorgeous folk melodies…synths, guitars and drumbeats weave intricately into his stunning harmonies.” – The Guardian
“Intellectual, unpretentious, nerdy -- Croll's in full authority.”- The Huffington Post
“An electronic folkie with a pendent for catchy vocal harmonies and a pocket full of tropical beats, there’s no pigeonholing Dan Croll.”-Under the Radar

Merchandise (feat. Dum Dum Girls) “Red Sun” b/w “Echo” single out this Friday
Merchandise (feat. Dum Dum Girls)
“Red Sun” b/w “Echo” single
available worldwide this Friday,
November 27th from Sub Pop
Listen: “Red Sun”
https://soundcloud.com/subpop/merchandise-featuring-dum-dum-girls-red-sun
This Friday, November 27th marks the release of the “Red Sun” b/w “Echo” single, a new collaboration between 4AD group Merchandise and Sub Pop recording artist Dum Dum Girls. The exquisite, two-track offering, will be available as 7”/ DL worldwide from Sub Pop.
“Red Sun” and “Echo” were both written after midnight. “Red Sun” is the story of love, power, and weakness. A 3 minute narrative about the mystery of human attraction and its hold on the psyche. “Red Sun,” played by Dee Dee, is half siren and half desert wanderer. She’s the temptress and the God of War the body of a girl who can make all men her victim. “Echo” takes place in the streets of Berlin. In “Echo” our narrator is lost in the madness of regret and lost love. In the warm streets of summer he’s frozen by his thoughts as if it were winter already.
This new single was conceived in Tampa, FL and recorded between Tampa, Berlin and NYC during the summer of 2015.
The “Red Sun” b/w “Echo” single is now available for preorder through Sub Pop Mega Mart, iTunes, and Amazon. Preorders through megamart.subpop.com will receive a limited edition version of the 7” pressed on clear purple vinyl (while supplies last).
What people are saying about “Red Sun”:
“A moody track that rests on a pulsing, sinister synth line and arid guitar.” - Stereogum
“Evoking Ennio Morricone by way of Bauhaus, "Red Sun" is a doom-laden, synthed-out siren song in which DDG's Dee Dee plays the titular role….The track is a pulsing three minutes of goth grandiosity in which Merchandise's Carson Cox is ultimately the one consumed. "I walked into the Red Sun" he croons, sounding both beaten and happily done in.” - Pitchfork
“...Merchandise and Dum Dum Girls have done you the favor of teaming up to give you a killer track in "Red Sun." Both bands work off each other to churn out a track that's super gothy and infectious.” - Noisey
“The song is a gothic, synth-driven number that's filled with syncopated beats and spacious guitar textures. Dum Dum Girls leader Dee Penny lends her noir-ish vocals to the verses, while Merchandise's Carson Cox swoops and brightens things up somewhat for the catchy chorus.” - Exclaim
“The result of this team up is a happy marriage between both bands’ sounds, finding an edge in dark, atmospheric pop.” - DIY

Seattle's Legendary 7 Year Bitch Announce 'Live At Moe' Out 1/15 + Iconic Single "The Scratch"
7 Year Bitch: Live at Moe
Announce Unearthed Album Live at MoeRecorded in 1996 at Seattle’s Legendary Club MOE Released January 15th via MOE Recordings
Pitchfork Premiered Iconic Single “ The Scratch ” via Album Trailer Unleashed Today

“Fast, funny and never completely satisfied, 7 Year Bitch epitomize their genre and make a noise like no one else.” – Rolling Stone, 1994
“The four-piece stops sexist shitheads cold with a double shot of super sharp riffs and extra-large egos that doesn’t leave any room for sniveling about male superiority in the scene or anywhere else.” – SPIN Magazine, 1994
“Hollywood’s best screenwriters couldn’t invent a more perfect punk band for the ‘90s than Seattle’s 7 Year Bitch.” – The Los Angeles Times, 1994
“7 Year Bitch is a band that will outlast the current ‘girl with guitar’ chic” – The Philadelphia Inquirer, 1994
Few rock bands have as heavy—or as deeply complicated—a legacy as that of 7 Year Bitch. Formed in Seattle in 1990 just as the music world was about to be flipped on its head by the explosion of grunge the band was, from the very beginning, hell bent on carving their own distinct path. Less concerned with being feminist trailblazers than simply being an incredibly kick-ass rock band, 7 Year Bitch ended up being both.
Nearly 20 years since the legendary group played their last shows, 7 Year Bitch is set to release Live at Moe — a live album that documents the band at the peak of their powers. Due out on January 15 via MOE Recordings, the album was recorded in 1996 at Seattle’s Club MOE. Originally broadcast on iMusic.com, the first website to stream music directly from a club, the recordings were forgotten until rediscovered by producer and MOE Recordings co-founder Scott Blum, who found them languishing in a box buried in his basement.
Their three studio albums—1992 debut album Sick ‘Em, 1994’s landmark ¡Viva Zapata!, and the band’s swan song, 1996’s Gato Negro—rank among some of the best and resolutely bombastic records unleashed during the 1990’s, heavy as all hell rock albums loaded front to back with equal parts dynamic songwriting and a healthy dose of punk rock fury. On Live at Moe, 7 Year Bitch rips through a career-spanning set which includes ferocious live renditions of audience favorites “The Scratch”, “Lorna”, and “M.I.A.”, as well as deeper cuts such as “Crying Shame” and “The Midst”. The record not only serves as a testament to their riveting, raw and electric energy, but also to the diversity of their catalog.
Pitchfork Premiered Iconic Single “The Scratch” todayand it is available to post and share HERE .
Formed by drummer Valerie Agnew, vocalist Selene Vigil-Wilk, guitarist Stefanie Sargent and bassist Elizabeth Davis- Simpson, the album features the classic 7 Year Bitch lineup with Roisin Dunne on guitar, and was produced by Scott Blum. The highly influential indie rock band LILYS is the constantly changing concept vehicle of Kurt Heasley, the group's frontman, founder and sole constant member. His harmonically complex songwriting has resulted in six albums and five EPs. Originating in Washington, D.C, the nomadic Heasley refers to LILYS different periods as Epochs I, II and III. Through him and the rotating players in LILYS, the musical style and approach shifts continually. The early recordings or Epoch I, including 1992's stunning, noise laden debut album In the Presence of Nothing and the etheric sophomore album Eccsame the Photon Band, were strongly influenced by MY BLOODY VALENTINE. Epoch I continues in the same year with the mini LP, A Brief History of Amazing Letdowns, on which LILYS refashion themselves as a dream infused experimental noise pop group.
Shortly thereafter, Epoch II is born as a now Boston-based Heasley delivers Better Can't Make Your Life Better, and with it evidence of a strong British Invasion. The album's single, "A Nanny In Manhattan" rose to #16 on the UK Charts after being used in a 1998 advertising campaign for Levi's directed by Roman Coppola. The following year LILYS perform the first fully live performance on Top of The Pops in almost twenty years. Epoch II recordings go on to include The Services (For the Soon to Be Departed) EP,Zero Population Growth EP and The 3-Way.
The new millennium dawns and with it a Philadelphia based Epoch III including the Selected EP, Precollection and Everything Wrong Is Imaginary. By 2008 and 2009 a post-Epoch version of LILYS performs live shows in and around San Francisco and Los Angeles, the All Tomorrow's Parties festivals curated by My Bloody Valentine in the abandoned city retreats of New York and London and open for MBV at some of their other US shows. A meticulously remastered vinyl version of LILYS’ second full-length album, Eccsame The Photon Band is currently being re-issued through the legendary FRONTIER RECORDS.
In Fall of 2015 LILYS performed a one-time-only, “big band” show called “Corruption Wrecked My Life”, that featured never before or rarely performed early material by LILYS - EPOCH I, circa 1990 - 1995. With Don De Vore (LILYS, Sick Feeling) as musical director alongside James Richardson (MGMT), Will Berman (MGMT), Travis Roseberg, Matt Werth (RVNG Intl. founder), Chris Colley (School Of Seven Bells), and Alex Craig (Limited, Ducktails, Big Troubles). The expanded format of “Corruption Wrecked My Life” is just another development in the Lilys’ ever-revolving lineup that has included more than 72 different musicians since 1991, as well as a myriad of collaborators. Heasley is always pushing the boundaries of his music.

WATCH: ENYA SHARES OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR"ECHOES IN RAIN"
DARK SKY ISLAND OUT NOW TO CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Watch the official video for "Echoes In Rain": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWFc5mkABNo Critical acclaim for Dark Sky Island: "...the environments generated by her records are still singular, a gentle, untroubled, indefinite ambience that is very soothing to inhabit. It's like being embraced by the air." (7.1/10) - Pitchfork "Maybe the appeal of Enya isn't precisely anything to do with her, or Ireland, or her castle, although all of those things provide a fitting container. Rather, the appeal is something like nostalgia - for a moment in your own life, perhaps, but even more likely, for a time that you might not even have experienced, that maybe no one has. It's a distant, romantic, fictive land." - Buzzfeed "With her serene effortless voice and lulling orchestral arrangements... [Dark Sky Island] features the lush strings, harps, and choral arrangements you'd expect to find on any Enya work of proper form." - New York Times "Enya's heavenly comeback" - Entertainment Weekly "Maybe Enya can soothe a weary, overworked, smartphone-addicted, EDM-exhausted populace with her Latin chants and Gaelic grace... she's back, and as the woman herself would say, Hallelujah." - The Atlantic "Mesmerizing" - GQ "The music is relaxing. It's depressing and, at times, joyful. It is meditative and it is self-reflective. It covers the full span of the emotional canon." - The Talkhouse "Enya, your favorite Irish mystic, is...back Friday with her first release in seven years - the gentle, soothing Dark Sky Island." - Mashable "Her voice is warm and soft, gentle like a spring breeze..." - Yahoo! "Enya returns with ethereal style she's made her own" - Associated Press "The Irish songstress has managed to carve a unique spot for herself in the industry... [through] her ambient, ethereal music." - Huffington Post "The haunting ["So I Could Find My Way"] bears all the hallmarks of the Irish singer's music: Enya's ethereal vocals, a cinematic bed of sound making up the track and poetic lyrics." - Idolator "The Celtic queen is back! ...Sounds like the Enya we know and love!" - Perez Hilton "Enya's timing is perfect. "Dark Sky Island" (Warner Bros.), her first album in seven years, arrives in a chaotic, increasingly violent time, following the terrorist attacks in Paris. Enya's lush, peaceful soundscapes provide a much-needed balm that soothes without boring... It's what Enya does best." - Newsday "The album sounds exactly like an Enya album, which is to say, it's definitely worth a listen. Enya's fucking great." - Village Voice "We [as human beings] share this unspeakable, tenuous force that connects us to each other's pain and joy. [This] important, intangible essence-that is what Enya channels into her music." - Brooklyn Magazine "Enya unfurls one lavish, exquisitely rendered sonic tapestry after another: the stately, poignant So I Could Find My Way; the surging lead single Echoes in Rain; the exotic waltz Sancta Maria; and the luminous finale, Diamonds in the Water." - Fort Worth Star Telegram
