The Jezabels unveil video for first single "Pleasure Drive"
THE JEZABELS UNVEIL VIDEO FOR
FIRST SINGLE “PLEASURE DRIVE” AT
INTERVIEW MAGAZINE
NEW ALBUM SYNTHIA TO BE
RELEASED FEBRUARY 12
MARCH U.S. HEADLINING TOUR CONFIRMED
“The Jezabels specialize in a richly textured sort of rock/pop that blurs the lines between acoustic and electronic, atmospheric and active”—SPIN
The official video for The Jezabels’ first single “Pleasure Drive” recently premiered at Interview Magazine , and can now be watched/ shared here. Of the video, lead-singer Hayley Mary notes, “I think it definitely creates an aesthetic and a vibe that shows some of the gothic, but particularly, it brings out the sadness in the song. On early listens the song can seem really upbeat and joyous, which it is, but I always think of it as actually quite melancholic.”
The track is off The Jezabels’ anticipated new album Synthia , which will be released independently onFebruary 12 via MGM Distribution. You can pre-order the album, which comes complete with a special postcard set, here. Already receiving acclaim, VICE’s The Creator’s Project calls the music video for the song “ Come Alive ” “mesmerizing,” while Boing Boing raves, “The amazing animated video to The Jezabels’ ‘Come Alive’ features a swirly, timeless impasto style. All smoke and fire and light, every frame's literally a stark, beautiful painting.” Synthia is the third album from the acclaimed Australian band and was recorded in Sydney with producer/engineer Lachlan Mitchell. Of the album and recording process, Hayley Mary notes, “This is a record we made ourselves, at our own behest…we just had a natural momentum. We were back in Sydney [from London] in January, got together to rehearse and wrote about four songs in a week.” She continues, “Previously I’ve shrouded myself a lot in mystery and the language of romanticism; played roles and stuff—which reflected some kind of truth about how I felt as a woman. Now I feel like I can be much more upfront…the truth about how it feels to be a woman has become a more prominent part of the general conversation in the last couple of years…these are exciting times. I think we’ve made an album that celebrates that.” Since the release of their breakout debut, Prisoner (2011), The Jezabels’ Sam Lockwood (guitar), Nik Kaloper (drums), Hayley Mary (vocals), and Heather Shannon (keys), continue to earn widespread praise for their “anthemic sound” (Relix). Their follow-up album, The Brink (2014), caught the attention of Rolling Stone , Esquire , Elle Magazine and more, for a sound that Noisey called, “a bold cut of emotive, epic-pop, hinged on Hayley’s sky-scaling Stevie Nicks-ian melodies.”
In celebration of Synthia, The Jezabels will set out on a U.S. headlining tour in March including dates in Philadelphia, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. A complete list of tour dates is below. Widely praised for their live performances, the band has previously toured with Depeche Mode, The Pixies, Tegan & Sara and Imagine Dragons among many others and played sold-out headlining shows across America in addition to a performance at Lollapalooza.

Fat White Family's New Album 'Songs For Our Mothers' Out This Friday
Fat White Family's new album 'Songs For Our Mothers'Out January 22nd via Without Consent/Fat Possum Records
Pre-order here
SXSW shows and US tour dates forthcoming
Photo: Steve Gullick Watch the video for 'Whitest Boy On The Beach' here Some people will call Songs For Our Mothers the most unpleasant album of this year, if not of their entire generation; the work of a bunch of drink and drug wracked nihilist degenerates. Some will say that it is a thrilling statement of disgust, defiance and complete creative independence made by the only rock band in the UK that really counts for anything at all anymore. But it is likely that few who hear it will walk away from the second album by the Fat White Family, released on their own label Without Consent, (via Fat Possum in North America) not caring one way or the other. Some will hail this hair-raising, pulse-quickening and indignant collection of glitterball disco, smacked out psych, glam funk, heart-breaking torch songs and otherworldly slabs of Kraut n’ western as the shot in the arm that independent rock has been ailing after. And a shot in the arm is exactly what this album is. For if modern indie rock, DIY, alt-country - call it what you will - is sick, then the Fat Whites are the pretty nurse with Munchausen’s Syndrome by proxy, pushing down the plunger on the syringe; murdering the bed-ridden patient with a tainted injection right under everyone’s noses. They have witnessed an entire musical scene teetering on the verge of terminal irrelevancy and given it a hard shove void-wards. And the dark irony is that physically, mentally and psychically the band nearly disintegrated themselves long before they got chance to deliver the goods. After working so hard on the band for so long, when it looked like their time was finally here, frontman Lias had no intention of letting three serious illnesses one after another stop them from having their moment. “I had pneumonia and was coughing up blood at one point… I thought I was done for”, he says, “It was a result of snorting and drinking every day and living at the Queens [their one time Brixton pub HQ] but then instead of recuperating, going out on a really long tour and ending up in a really bad way.” And no wonder some of this sickness and deathliness has saturated the new album. Those looking for dark, subversive, thrilling, transgressive (and sometimes satirical) art that unwaveringly holds a mirror up to the morally blank times we live in will find what they want in the Songs For Our Mothers; just as those who revel in being offended will do likewise. It’s hard not to wonder - especially when you look at some of the song titles (Love Is The Crack? Goodbye Goebels? Leibensraum? When Shipman Decides?! Hoooo boy: they’ve pushed the boat out this time!) - if the band are just handing ammunition to perma-outraged liberal detractors who will inevitably call them fascists, advocates of hard drug use, serial killer fanboys (among many other things) instead of looking for deeper meaning. Lead singer and lyric writer Lias Saoudi grins: “Yeah, and we’re handing them the ammunition gladly… because people who get up in the morning to look for Nazis end up seeing them everywhere by lunchtime.”
Unpleasant or not, the Fat White Family are the last truly great rock band in the world and in Songs For Our Mothers they have created an album that demands to be heard. - John Doran, Utrecht, November 2015 'Songs For Our Mothers' will be released on the band's own Without Consent label via Fat Possum (in North America) on January 22nd. This follows their critically acclaimed debut album, Champagne Holocaust.

HINDS Announce U.S. Spring Tour Dates!
HINDS
ANNOUNCE U.S. SPRING TOUR DATES
Leave Me Alone
out now via Mom + Pop/Lucky Number
(Credit: Miqui Brightside)
"Hinds has an excellent grip on its particular brand of hazy, jangly music, and uses the razor's edge between mellow and melancholy to maximum effect. They wield their tools with the easy confidence of beginners without sounding like amateurs." - NPR Music
"This great garage-rock crew from Madrid folds decades of naïf-rock history into its craftily shambling tunes - from riff-scraping contemporaries like Ty Segall to early-1990s International Pop Underground stars like the Vaselines and Thee Headcoats, right on back to 'Wild Thing.'" - Rolling Stone (3.5 stars)
"...the year's buzziest indie breakout." - Entertainment Weekly
"Though recorded in southern Spain, the lo-fi tracks, with lyrics in English, have a distinctly American garage-rock feel." - New York Times: T Magazine
"These tracks show off what truly sets Hinds apart: Cosials and Perrote's shared vocal responsibilities, which fit together perfectly... [Hinds' chose to challenge themselves on their debut LP Leave Me Alone, and the decision pays off." - Pitchfork (7.5)
Hinds' unleashed
Leave Me Alone
- their monster of a debut album that is already being lauded as one of the best indie rock records of 2016 - earlier this month, and today they announce a U.S. Spring tour. Including their return to SXSW, Hinds will bring the Mediterranean sun and their raucous, high-energy, and down-right exciting live show Stateside this March. Anyone who has ever been to a Hinds show - no, a Hinds PARTY - will tell you: this tour is not to be missed. See below to find a gig near you, and PRESS HERE to purchase tickets on Friday. Inspired by the likes of Mac DeMarco, Ty Segall, The Black Lips and more, Hinds have taken the garage rock sound that they love so much and flipped it on its head, infusing fresh life into it on their incredible debut. Weaving sun-kissed, 60's-inspired melodies, executed with a genius call-and-response between co-vocalists and band co-founders Perrote andCosials, Hinds create the ultimate soundtrack to the best day ever - from start to finish - spent with your four best friends on
Leave Me Alone

The Coathangers will mark their ten-year anniversary as a band by releasing their fifth studio album,Nosebleed Weekend on April 15, 2016 through Seattle indie label Suicide Squeeze. The band is giving a sneak peak of the album by sharing the track "Make It Right." You can listen to the song here: https://soundcloud.com/suicide-squeeze-records/make-it-right-by-the-coathangers/s-8FXoJ Nosebleed Weekend comes on the heels of the band's highly-praised 2014 release Suck My Shirt. They toured non-stop for eighteen months on Suck My Shirt, with appearances at festivals like Riot Fest, Burgerama, TBD Fest, Sled Island, Festival d'été de Québec and Capitol Hill Block Party; and toured with bands like The Black Lips and The Growlers. Kim Gordon even named their May 2015 show at Pappy & Harriets in
Pioneertown, CA as #1 on her Top 10 List of 2015 in Artform Magazine (Dec 2015). Nosebleed Weekend is the first album the band has made outside of Atlanta, and was recorded in North Hollywood at Valentine Recording studios with Nic Jodoin (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club). "The Beach Boys and Bing Crosby both recorded there!" Kugel says excitedly (as did Frank Zappa!). Nosebleed Weekend was the first session at Valentine Recording Studios since 1979, when acclaimed producer Jimmy Valentine decided to suddenly shutter its doors without explanation. He left everything intact, including the custom built MCI soundboard, vintage mics, and myriad priceless gear. The studio was a virtual time capsule for more than thirty years, until Valentine passed away and his family inherited the building and its contents. "It was an amazing experience, not to mention a ghostly one too. The studio had been custom built by Jimmy Valentine and he was very protective of his passion. It sounds weird, but his spirit was there, checking in on us and fucking with us a bit." The Coathangers are the trio Julia Kugel (guitar/vocal), Meredith Franco (bass/vocals) and Stephanie Luke (drums/vocals). The band also announced live shows in Brooklyn and Los Angeles around the release date. On March 29 they will be co-headlining a show with Tijuana Panthers at Baby's All Right. They will then be in Los Angeles headlining The Echo on April 6 and then head down to Norman, OK. To co-headline the Norman Music Festival with Cloud Nothings, Small Black, Nikki Lane and more from April 21-23. More tour dates to be announced soon...

The Bonnaroo era began in 2002 and was almost immediately named one of the "50 Moments That Changed The History of Rock 'n' Roll" by Rolling Stone. Each year since has seen the annual event consistently expanding the parameters of what a music festival can offer in the 21st century. Being America's only major all hours music festival, Bonnaroo presents fans with a seemingly infinite number of entertainment options over the course of its four days, most notably, its comedy tent, whose lineup has featured some of the most groundbreaking comedians of our time, including Aziz Ansari, Amy Schumer, Louis CK, Zach Galifinakis, Chris Rock and more. The 2016 Bonnaroo Comedy Theatre lineup will be revealed this spring. Additionally, Bonnaroo's 24-hour cinema tent offers fans an opportunity to catch an A-list array of one-of-a-kind happenings, spanning director spotlights, interactive screenings, live film scoring, and high energy Q&A sessions with special guest artists and actors. Consistently searching for ways to improve the event each year, organizers have recently announced significant upgrades to the festival site, which will now feature its own water line allowing for more than 400 toilets and hundreds of showers, as well as a large number of additional water filling stations. Equally important since the festival's inception has been uncovering new ways to give back to the community. As a result, the Bonnaroo Works Fund (BWF) charity initiative was established, supporting a number of regional and national organizations devoted to improving arts, education, and environmental sustainability in communities across the country. In 2015, BWF donated more than $300,000 to upward of 50 organizations and has donated more than $7 million to over 100 organizations in total. For further information, please visit www.bonnarooworksfund.org. Bonnaroo is a truly global event, with tickets purchased in all 50 U.S. states and over 37 countries around the world.
