MINOR VICTORIES - Slowdive, Mogwai & Editors members - Share New Song and Announce Debut US Tour Dates!

SHARE NEW SONG "FOLK ARP" & ANNOUNCE DEBUT U.S. TOUR DATES (Photo Credit: Sally Lockey) Early praise for Minor Victories:
"The tired old "supergroup" concept finally has more potential to be super...Minor Victories' synth-pop is stylishly dusky, with lush orchestral touches, motorik persistence, and a closing guitar cacophony." - Pitchfork (Best New Track) "a track that weaves together the atmospheric, shoegazing sound of the band members' other outfits." - Rolling Stone "it's easy to get lost in well-blended array of sonics." - Stereogum "'A Hundred Ropes' sounds as cinematic as its title suggests, with Goswell's feathery vocals just barely distinguishable above straining synths and strings." - SPIN Minor Victories - the exciting collaboration between Mogwai's Stuart Braithwaite, Slowdive's Rachel Goswell, Editors' Justin Lockey and his brother James - will release their self-titled debut this summer, and today the band announce their first-ever North American tour dates. These will follow their inaugural UK/European shows next month. Tickets will be on sale Friday - see below to find a show near you. To celebrate the band's live North American debut, Minor Victories also share a new track off of the album. The follow-up to the haunting "A Hundred Ropes," "Folk Arp" is a gorgeous 6+ minute song that was teased last week in another stunning short film via The Creator's Project. PRESS HERE to listen to the song in full and watch the new visual at Pitchfork now. Produced and engineered by Justin, and featuring the likes of Mark Kozelek and James Graham from The Twilight Sad, Minor Victories will be released on June 3rd, 2016 via Fat Possum Records. What began as Justin's desire to create an extreme noise EP topped off by a delicate female vocals, Minor Victories became a cinematic 10-track LP, masterfully crafted by four band members who had somehow never even all been in the same room together until after the album was completed. Far more than a side project for its members, this record unveils the real essence of what a group of talented individuals unshackled by convention can attain. Brought together by brief meetings, mutual acquaintances and overall serendipity, Minor Victories created this album together by swapping ideas, songs, fragments and finished recordings via broadband connections. This unusual process, combined with the members' wide spectrum of musical tastes and experiences converging, ultimately led to something beyond the original vision of any of the contributors that pushes new boundaries and new sounds into uncharted waters. PRESS HERE for a physical pre-order of Minor Victories and HERE for digital. Both "A Hundred Ropes" and "Folk Arp" are available as instant grat starting tomorrow. Tour Dates - North American Dates in BOLD5/3/16 - London, UK @ Village Underground5/4/16 - Bristol, UK @ Thekla5/5/16 - Leeds, UK @ Brudenell Social Club5/6/16 - Glasgow, UK @ Art School 6/3/16 - Dudingen, Switzerland @ Bad Bonn Kilbi Festival6/4/16 - Mannheim, Germany @ Maifeld Derby Festival6/17/16 - Hilvarenbeek, Netherlands @ Best Kept Secret Festival6/19/16 - Washington, DC @ Rock & Roll Hotel6/20/16 - Cambridge, MA @ The Sinclair6/21/16 - Brooklyn, NY @ Music Hall of Williamsburg6/22/16 - Philadelphia, PA @ Union Transfer6/24/16 - Toronto, ON @ The Opera House6/25/16 - Columbus, OH @ The A&R Bar6/26/16 - Chicago, IL @ Lincoln Hall6/28/16 - San Francisco, CA @ The Independent6/29/16 - Los Angeles, CA @ Teragram Ballroom8/5/16 - 8/7/16 - Katowice, Poland @ Off Festival8/7/16 - Sicily, Italy  @ Ypsigrock Festival8/12/16 - St Malo, France @ La Route Du Rock Festival8/20/16 - Hasselt, Be @ Pukkelpop Festival

Stereogum Unleashes Summer Cannibals' Blistering New Video, Nat'l Tour w/ The Thermals

Summer Cannibals

“Full Of It”  Video Unleashed With  Stereogum  Today

Announcing June Headlining Dates
+ National Tour with The Thermals Kicks Off 4/16

3rd Full-Length LP, Full Of It, Out 5/27 via Kill Rock Stars

Click Image Above To Watch "Full Of It" Video

"There are shades of late 90s Sleater-Kinney in the loud-quiet-loud of it all, not least in Boudreaux’s voice, snarling at all the right moments."
— Noisey

"... Summer Cannibals bring raw and driving guitar rock, with shredding from front woman Jessica Boudreaux and an attitude that honors the band’s namesake, a song performed by Patti Smith."
  NPR All Songs Considered

"The band’s latest zooms in with a series of robust guitar chugs, sharpening its already metallic edge."
— SPIN

"The wicked wit of the lyrics, the roar of that guitar, and the melodies of sweet & sour confections such as ‘Something New,’ ‘Summer,’ ‘Not Your Turn,’ and the title track are thoroughly addictive."
— Sound Opinions, Jim DeRogatis

“ ...refine the fuzzy garage-pop of its debut into something sharper, tighter, and much more difficult to shake off.”
 Entertainment Weekly

Portland rock band Summer Cannibals will release their 3rd full-length LP,  Full Of It , out May 27 on the legendary independent label Kill Rock Stars. Led by guitarist/vocalist Jessica Boudreaux and aided by a new powerhouse rhythm section of drummer Devon Shirley, bassist Jenny Logan and guitarist Marc Swart, the eleven songs spark with that perfect mix of snotty attitude, unbounded energy, and window rattling volume. The band will bring this energy to stages across North America as they join The Thermals on a national tour followed by a stint of headlining dates in June. Tickets are currently on sale HERE.

The four musicians keep their collective foot on the gas pedal, roaring through tunes like the previously shared jagged, wailing opening track “ Go Home ” and the powerfully melodic “ Say My Name .” Energetic album title track “Full Of It” is an immediate earworm of distorted guitar, growling bass and irresistible vocal licks. Watch as the band tears through the track and a punk rock house in the Full Of It” video released today by  Stereogum . We encourage you to post & share!

The new album Full Of It is the band’s defining statement to date. Recorded at the amazing analog recording studio The Dock with producer Chris Woodhouse (Thee Oh Sees, Wild Flag), the LP is one of those massive leaps forward that has defined the Summer Cannibals sound. Be sure to catch the band on tour & stay tuned for more exciting news coming soon!

Full Of It  is available for  pre-order  now!

Fat White Family North American Tour

Fat White Family North American Tour Comes To LA April 13th
'Songs For Our Mothers' Out Now Via Without Consent/Fat Possum Records Photo: Steve Gullick
"A truly bracing performance." The Independent
“A powerful display of rock 'n roll unparalleled anywhere else in the capital.” Gigwise (London) “A raucous display of real, unique music that is a breath of fresh air…”  Wordpress “We know we’re in good hands and for just one banging, mind blowing joyous hour, we enter their wild world with a show that unapologetically sets the bar for 2016.” Oxford Mail
“Studiously crafted and meticulously executed from start to finish, if any doubts remained as to whether Fat White Family were the most important rock and roll band of their generation, this should put a lid on it once and for all. For Songs for Our Mothers is of a rare breed of record that's both of its time yet timeless in nature.. “ Drowned In Sound "Fat White Family have a knack for turning questionable taste into excellent punk rock."  Rolling Stone "...rock ‘n’ roll desperados who play with such debauched ferocity that you worry their art will be the death of them." NewYork Post “What makes them special is that it’s organic. Their music is an extension of themselves, pure id, and that’s what makes them so enthralling. This is the sound of a death-or-glory headlong charge.” Line Of Best Fit “Fat White Family never sought to embrace high art. High art thrust itself upon them.” NY Observer ”…off-kilter, anthemic passages.” Autre

“Any album that makes you worry about yourself is worth exploring. It’s even better if it’s excruciatingly cool in the process. Fat White Family have built a nonstop, sit-down kind of album that grips you all the way through its strangely elegant finish. But where Songs For Our Mothers really triumphs is in its ability to take you somewhere totally new – even if you’d prefer not to know where that is.” Pancakes And Whiskey “Affliction and addiction shape their twisted worldview, and while their musical translation of this mindset—infusing the darkly-shaded psychedelia of Velvet Underground with the cheap electronic throb of Suicide— is anything but pretty on the ears, the group’s knotted noise feels inviting.” Pitchfork “…the band's most intricate and best recordings yet. It’s as if they’re goading, ‘Sure, criticise us, but just listen to these choruses!’ NME LIVE SHOWS:

Icelandic experimental rock band Sigur Rós have announced an upcoming North American tour this Fall.  For the first time in their career the band will be touring without a support act*, instead offering the audience two sets (+ intermission) starting from 8:30pm sharp at each show. Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 8th at 9am PST/12pm EST (with the exception of 9/24 at Hollywood Bowl, which is on sale now for 5 or more tickets, single tickets on sale May 1), with a limited number of exclusive packages available that include the best seats in the house and autographed memorabilia. For further information and to participate in an exclusive presale go to sigur-ros.co.uk

The month long run is comprised primarily of theater shows, marking the band's most intimate tour in a decade. In keeping with the scale of the venues, the group will be performing without the string and brass sections that have been characteristic of recent performances, opting instead to focus on the core unit of the band itself.  The shows will give the group a chance to road test new music, the first time since the tour leading up to the acclaimed  ( )  album in 2002 that the band has performed new material ahead of album recording sessions. Alongside this experimentation played out in public, the band is also planning on attempting new interpretations of old songs that haven't been played in a very long time.

Though the scale of the venues and band will be reduced, the live production will be characteristically stunning, designed again by the team behind their previous Knights of Illumination award-winning tour.Speaking of the upcoming shows, the band states: "Every time you go on tour you want it to be different...and every time it is, usually because you have a new album you want to play people.  And that can be fun, because you have to work out how to recreate all the complicated stuff you did in the studio for the stage. But there was a time when things were the other way round, when we worked stuff out on the road, and trying to capture lightning in a bottle was a problem for the studio later on. This time, in addition to playing songs you know, we wanted to remember the seat-of-your-pants feeling experienced in the wake of ágætis byrjun, when for two years we formed and re-formed the songs that would go on to be the ( ) album live in front of people, night after night. All we can say right now is it's going to be different, with new unreleased songs, a new show and maybe some other *new* things. Beyond that, we can only ask you to trust us on this one."

For a taste of their live energy that still radiates to this day, look for tickets and more information HERE.The infamously fierce, feminist pioneers of American grunge punk came back into the spotlight upon the announcement of their documentary film, L7: Pretend We’re Dead, fully funded by fans across the globe via Kickstarter. Often credited as a leading force behind the grunge movement of the late ‘80s and for their influence on riot grrrl bands of the early ‘90s, the reaction to the announcement was far more electric than they could have expected, catalyzing a widely anticipated reunion of the band in its original line-up.“Despite the very long haitus … L7 still pack major muscle on stage”
Rolling Stone“…the lung-busting vocals of both Sparks and Gardner sounded vicious for 18 songs”
